  1. According to the DC Power website, https://www.dcpowerinc.com/vaf/product/list/?category=%3F&year=23&make=145&model=724&engine=1538 They have a 270xp for $630 Hot Idle Amperage @ 200ºF 170 Hot Max Amperage @ 200ºF 240 Dual bracket, two alts maybe? I have no idea if there's any room for that sort of thing. ------- One thing to keep in mind, a lot of cheap H/O alts have terrible idle amperage and don't last very long.
  2. The only high output alternator company I have dealt with is DC Power Engineering (https://www.dcpowerinc.com/) They also have a forum on this site. Their alternators make "rated" power and then some. Very good build quality. Downer is: sometimes they have a long lead time and they are hard to get a hold of at times. I found the best way to get a hold of them is by email, usually received a response in a day or two. I've seen a few threads here and there where people ordered from DC and their alt didn't quite fit (had to do some minor grinding) or their wiring harness and plugs didn't match. I ordered one for my last vehicle, got it in about 45 days, wired everything up, worked GREAT. I couldn't complain about anything at all. It fit perfectly, I had zero voltage issues... I was running a saz1500d with no additional batteries, at full tilt my voltage would float around 14v-14.5v I've also seen people have good success with Mechman, personally I haven't used them so I don't have much input. 400 amp draw is a lot. I know DC Power makes a 390xp, if they have one for your vehicle that would probably be a safe bet.
  3. I'm going to take a stab in the dark and say it's either another subwoofer or ring terminals...
  4. Depends on the engine type, mounting location. My volvo is pretty packed. Switching the alt involves removing the ac condenser, power steering pump, right wheel and cv joint.
  5. He bought a skar, so he must be a rep.
  6. Depends on the vehicle. On my jeep it was a cake walk. On my Volvo its a pain in the ass. I think on the tc its near the top of the engine.
  7. Enclosure work is awesome. At first I thought you made the kick pods and like "hot damn that's sick" Tuned in for more.
  8. I just sent Memphis an email asking for the specs. I'll post them up if they reply.

  11. i dont think i have ever meet anyone withing 4 years of my age (18) that hasnt been drunk lol. who actually waits until the 21 to drink? and it gets my mind off things. BEER PONG FTMFW!!!! I'm forty years old and I still haven't drank before. I'm just waiting for that right time, special time. But seriously if you can't control yourself when your drinking then don't drink. :drink40: :drink40: damnnnnnnn dude. and iv never been like black out drunk. i just like getting a good buz. i can still walk and stuff (even though i do stumble a little) so i can still control what i do and know whats going on around me Your missing my point.
  12. Speakers should never mount on the door card, exactly why I was confused at why he was dropping them off. Until a baffle is in the door and you know how that is going to work I wouldn't do anything to the panels. If your goal was to glass some stuff on a reinforced door card then just use the components you have J. I'm definitely holding off on part of the panels, until I know what's happening. The new door panel is 1/2" MDF verse the stock 1/4" particle board. The plan was applying some resin to the panel (make it weather resistant & so fiber glassing will stick to it when the time comes for the speaker panel / pod), then wrapping the entire panel in pleather / vinyl.

I remember when this guy came to buy my jeep, he was very adamant about showing me how to unlock the doors on ford rangers. My neighbor had one and he kept saying "Here watch this, I'll show you real quick." "Uhh fuck no, that's my neighbors car not mine jackass." Supposedly behind the door handle there's a cover or something that can be pried off with a screw driver, then you can stick a flat head screw driver down a hole and wiggle it against some mechanism, then simply pull up on the handle... Never tried it. Crazy people to the top!

    Definitely.
  17. That's true, but now your talking the cost of batteries & the cost of the alt... That's a lot more and likely way more then he needs. Each has it's drawbacks. I never played music loudly with the car off so battery reserve wasn't an issue. Having a 15lb alternator or what ever verse a hundred pounds or more in batteries was another plus. Good luck OP.
  18. Cheaper (not saying bad) battery charger: $100 Decent but not top of the line battery: $200(2) = $400 So your looking at around $500, will the batteries have enough reserve for the power your running? I don't know. Will the stock alternator supply enough amperage to keep the batteries well charged? Likely not. So you'll find yourself charging your batteries in the garage every few weeks? Or for some extra doe you could get a H/O alt that simply makes the power right from the get-go. I know what I would do, but that's just me.
  19. Technically you could use a 500watt rms per channel amp, it's all about setting the gain.
  20. I have his door panels. There thin particle board, speakers aren't mounting on the OEM ones. I'm making a new door panels, then holding off on the lower section until he figures out if he wants to use these comps, both sets, or something entirely different.
  21. The output from an amplifier is going to vary depending on the frequency being played. So you could have it hooked up to your "100rms amp" and in actuality the driver is being powered with much much less. If I were you, I'd buy an amp that fits your budget, fits your space, and advertises 80watts rms or more.

    Happy Birthday Man!!!
  23. I got one of these: http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_29982_VIBE-Audio-LiteBox-Stereo-2-LiteBox2.html In great condition if your interested. Any amp you go with, just set the gain accordingly and you won't have any issues.
