  1. what would u do in my situation? i dont have the money for a HO alt. i only have the money for maybe another battery but thats all. i have a "65 mustang and summer is coming up and i have alot of mantinance to do to get it ready. it needs brakes and new upper and lower ball joints. not that that has anything to do with systems but i wanted to fill u in on my situation. save up and get some sealed agm batteries, xspower batts are great but pricey, may wanna also check out some deka 9a31s (I think that model number is right)
  2. You did refer to volts as amps, there not the same lol. These walmart batteries, got a link to the specs? Sealed agm batteries are fine inside the cabin, but i have a feeling these cheap batteries aren't sealed, therefore they leak gas... ya idk about all that. when i picked up the 9500's, the guy had 4 of the walmart batteries in his trunk and said it was all good. fortunatly, he gave me one lol. the batteries are just the regular boat batteries from walmart. im sure u can find them on walmarts website or even at walmart if ur ever there I only asked for the safety of you, I'm not going to search the walmart site trying to find what batteries you bought and whether or not their safe to be in the cabin. Just because he says there fine doesn't mean they are. What if you sold them next week to someone and said yeah there fine. They would believe you, yet you clearly don't know. Just my thoughts on the matter, Good luck.

  4. I couldn't agree more I would go with the fi BL and 4" coil option and cooling. It should work comfortably on 1600watts as long as your enclosure is proper size and amp settings are good
  5. Have to put the car on ramps to have enough space to get to it, I don't have the room to use ramps. And to be honest, it's just a pain in the ass getting to the alt on this car, have to move the ac compressor, radiator, and a few other things.
  6. ps3blows. Really it's my username
  7. Well I'm not sure if I can really afford to dish out $800 for xcons atm, so I'm leaning towards icons, but I believe their out of stock since their making the new ones. So not sure. Depending on if DC Power can swap cases on my current alt, I'll likely run a saz3500d or cres3kwp. If they can't make an alt that fits, I'll run a couple extra batteries and use a saz1500d. Enclosure is being made now YAY! im sure that if i can (and going to) get a 270xp, for my 94 Camry.. then they can make one for you. (my stock is 80amp. HA!!) a 270xp would do, right? My current dc alt is a 270xp, they would just swap internals into a new case. I just gotta call'm on Monday and see if they can do it Only bummer is I won't be able to install it, so I have to pay a shop to do it...
  8. interiors nice enough for me, especially coming from a tincan Interior is pleather and plastic haha
  9. I'm digging the box, like the terminals too

  11. Yeah, but I think these stock ones should look pretty good once their powder-coated
  12. hell yeah! Drove it back from phx for about 2hrs at 90mph and it cruised, gas mileage is awesome too
  13. I got the car for $4900 (86k miles). Timing belt was just changed, checking dealership record to see if the tensioner was also changed. New air filter, ordered iridium spark plugs, and a few other maintenance stuff. Cleaned the maf sensors and throttle body this afternoon, everything has been in good shape. Contemplating whether or not to switch to a 3" downpipe for the turbo, supposedly it lessens the turbo lag and adds a tad more power...
  14. Nah he doesn't care, used'm for when we painted his grill and what not.
  15. umm using them to bake the paint? My dad is a photographer.
  16. I used Duplicolor Metalcast for the emblem
  17. the carpet does come out in one piece for my celica. but do you raise the floor like 2"s or what? I believe the saz1500d is over 2" in height, so that wouldn't work for ya now would it The more space between the amps and false floor, the more heat dissipation and cooling.
  18. For those that don't know, Sold the jeep, decided to get something somewhat sporty with enough cargo room for a nice substage. Behold the 2002 volvo v40... Front tires have several 2" long slits, ordered some bridgestone potenzas for the front & rear. The cargo area for substage... Drivers are undecided, well see what happens Before: During: Black chrome paint on embem: All done And my fathers car... By the end of this week they'll be new tires, powder-coated wheels black, and windows tinted. On order: new fuel pressure regulator, alpine-cde 102 headunit, dashkit, and wire. Have to contact DC Power about swapping cases on my current alt to fit this. Think that's it for now
  19. X3 On above, respect others, no one wants to hear your music, people aren't going to be like "damn he's tight"...
  20. Is this in usaci or meca? I know in Meca they do everything off the fuse ratings, not clamped power from amps.
  21. Great to hear, glad the business is doing well. Post some pics when your in the new place
  22. Oh Shit! I've been waiting for pics of this for a while now! Looks sick, I'm jealous Hove (Andrew, I'm looking at some cars this weekend and theres a good chance I'll buy one, measure it up and get back to you about my box situation, thank you).
  23. Add the "Big 3" if you haven't already, it won't magically make more power, but it will decrease the resistance between your power source and your amp. It's just a given. Adding batteries will help the voltage drop, but only for so long, and your stock alt doesn't produce enough amperage to keep up a good charge on the batteries and support everything else your putting on it. I say get a h/o alt then add batteries if needed. you said your alt makes 105amps? I doubt that's at idle, so lets say 105amps at max in the higher rpm range. A 100% efficient amplifier (does not exist) that produces 3k on 14.4v would need 208amps. And that's not even taking into consideration the rest of the cars electrical system that needs power to properly function.
