  1. If it's not going off with the trunk release disabled then it sounds like that's your problem... Does the aftermarket alarm tap into the stock trunk release sensor or does it use it's own?
  2. The xmax on the BL is 18mm, not sure if that's one way, so either 0.7" or 1.4" of excursion, So your inch of travel falls in there just fine. Watching a youtube video doesn't dictate anything. Don't want over-excursion now do you... What are your amp settings? What type of enclosure? volume, tuning?
  3. Do the rear seats fold down? If so what's the opening dimensions from that?
  4. I agree they are cheap alarms and there's always the possibility it's faulty... There may be a bad sensor setting it off, check if there's a hood latch sensor, door latch sensors, etc. Long process of elimination =/
  5. Your not loud enough
  6. I'd post on 12v, they have a lot of knowledgeable people and info on car alarms and anything car electrical related
  7. One of the reason why I have 'things' shipped the local UPS store, with my cell on the address ....the "oh, it's just parts for my car" bit was wearing thin..... especially when she found how much her cousin spent on his car audio! lol Ha Ha, I just ship it to the house and let her find out in due time. I usually just get a look but she don't give me a hard time about it. We split the bills up and have separate accounts. She don't ask me how much things cost anymore and neither do I. Trust me, the girls spend the hell out of some money! Arguing about money pretty much ruined my first marriage and separate accounts is only way to fly. Well, there was that time I tripped and fell, and my wiener accidentally got stuck in another girl, that didn't help either. lol +1, She knows that I really enjoy car audio and 'car things' in general make me happy. She spends money clothes etc, and I rarely spend money on anything else; other than her and my dog I guess as long as my car retains a good practicality level (which is one of my system goals anyways), and she is fine with it. BTW, her boss was wondering where the Blue LED light was coming from inside my car...while I was waiting to pick her up from work last night. She told her boss "it was comes from his car audio set-up; his 'OTHER' girlfriend! LOL volt meter, bass knob light?
  8. You can use a single pair from the amps output. The others are there for flexibility. As far as wiring down to 1ohm, just follow the picture. Not sure how else to explain it. Obviously you'll have more then a pair of wires since you need to cut some to wire from one coil to another.
  9. Do you mean khaotic enclosures? They are a part of SSA, I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure Andrew from Argent Audio has access to a CNC machine and gets everything cut to spec and built for them. The thing that makes them aimed towards a specific driver is the volume, tuning is setup for daily (~33hz). So if you have another driver that needs xx amount of volume and a khaotic enclosure is close to that volume requirement then your good P.S. You'll love your icon, I had two, worst thing I did was sell mine
  10. ssh replied to 2Loud's topic in General Audio
thank you so so so much No problem
  11. I don't believe that... 120amp alt isn't going to produce ~285amps to an amp that's not very efficient in terms of power output... Even if you had a huge battery bank, voltage would drop to batteries resting voltage (12v-13v), unless it's a 16v setup with a ton of stepdowns for stock electrical.

Google sketchup is free and you can do measurements, interior viewing, exterior, etc... and it's free
  13. Post your vehicles max dimensions that way we have something to work with. Edit, didn't vote on the poll because it doesn't work like that... Enclosure volume will play a big roll in output.
  14. I tested out the comment on pts 4 xcons 15s page, everything worked as it should! Pretty awesome you can connect with facebook accounts now. The new site looks so clean, especially the comment bad
  15. Nah I'm pretty sure I'm all there. That's actually my worst nightmare, sane and being locked up in a psych ward.
  16. haha, I love this forum!
  17. rofl, just keep telling him in every thread XD
  18. Get a lcd volt meter and check your voltage at full tilt, other then that and possibly adding another battery you should be good
  19. Right now is a Ford Expedition, but limited space since I carry construction tools for work. Is the xcon for another vehicle?
  20. What vehicle do you have? Just get an 18" I'd bet running an 18" xcon with only a few hundred watts is going to be louder then what your currently have...
  21. Pretty sure that was already stated like 5 times. People might steal your stereo since you advertised it. Now it's the 6th time.
  22. In some way you are right, I might be rushing. But the problem is that this Pioneer just cannot make it anymore! From what Ive read, 4gauge is fine up to 1200-1500rms (at the end, depends on the distance too). It is close to battery as the 2000D is underneath the passenger sit, 10ft is pretty much the distance to the battery so thats fine. Unfortunately, I cant take advantage of the 2000rms since that would mean replacing to 0 gauge and most likely doing the Big 3. Noway I can afford a new battery now. My current voltage is 13.6 at idle, 13.7-14.1 while driving. So its not bad IMO. I do plan on using this amp to its full power, but maybe in the future. If anything, I think I should prob replace my 4 gauge with 0 gauge. But that still leaves me with my hungriness for bass Buy one driver, and build a box for it, down the road get a second matching driver and build a new box?
  23. IB3 is Infinite Baffle, best for sq, not for your goals. Running 1000watts either way is going to need new wire, 4gauge isn't enough unless your only running it ~10ft. To me it seems your rushing, you want something loud but can only spend xxx. You already have a nice amp, take full advantage of it and use drivers that take full advantage of the power. Your gonna need to replace that 4gauge, and probably gonna need another battery for the amp. The only reason I'm suggesting you go bigger and spend more is, you have a big amp, if you didn't intend in using all it's power at some point then your probably would have bought a smaller amp. So instead of doing a small build and then redoing everything in six months, I say wait til you can do it all at once, it'll be cheaper in the end. Just my two cents
  24. I agree. This thread is stupid. for now on, any thread with the text "VS" in the title should just be locked
  25. Just like that heh.
