haha, I love bass reactions like this! xcons ftw
  2. That's odd, well if your gain was turned down from the bass then your ssf may of done the same...
  3. ssh replied to porkchop's topic in Team IAK
yeah that trunk is huge! put a couple drivers, amps, batteries, and bodies back there no problem
  4. stupid question but I'll ask anyways since this thread is just odd, your headunit settings haven't been changed since?
  5. Some of you go to such an extent to laugh at others
  6. My saz1500d gets pretty hot as well, but part of it is our heat... If I touch my amp in the afternoon and it hasn't been played that day, it's still hot to the touch...
  7. How many alts did your order?
  8. I beg to differ. Check out snoopdan. Different vehicle type, but still Boyd Heaton has his wrangler walled off pretty much and can do hair tricks, can tricks, etc...
  9. Well I have a single 18" BL, just bought a 12" ssd for a pretty good deal, So I'm going to try 4 ssds, then eventual upgrade to some beefier drivers when money allows for it But for the time being I need to upgrade electrical, amps, etc.
  10. Why thank you
  11. double post fail for me! So what did Mark end up scoring at the show? I saw your numbers in your thread
  12. Nah I'm just gonna go bigger Some peoples side windows are angled enough that you can have it half way up and it creates a slit for the can to rest in, but mines just flat... But before I get flamed, no I'm not gearing my setup towards just floating cans OR hair tricks... but if it does it, cool
  13. as title reads, failure to float can Oh well, gotta get louder...
  14. Your amp won't be the only thing fried heh
  15. More like the xcons will drown the alpines. I'd get the bravox But if you want to truly appreciate your front stage you'll have to turn down the bass knob a little
  16. No haha, it's Mark, the co-owner of ssa.
  17. Yeah I think the owner is a member here too
  18. ssh commented on j-roadtatts's gallery image in Members Gallery
  19. I'm digging the honesty very funny too! good luck with getting everything hooked up
  20. How do you know that? I just recently had to contact JBL's customer service, there were no deficiencies in the service they provided. What is your experience with the CS of Pioneer and JBL to determine the CS from Sundown is vastly superior? I picked up the phone, called JBL and had my issue resolved in under 10 minutes. Sundown on the other hand has explicitly stated they often can't reach the phones in time (a phone number is not even published on their website) so the best method to contact them is via email , which normally means you are waiting much longer than 10 minutes for a response. How is that "far better" than the service I received from JBL in under 10 minutes? If this was facebook I'd "like" this. I'm just a car audio enthusiast, not an engineer, not qualified to compare build quality. I went from buying mainstream to forum online based products, I still buy mainstream for front stage but everything sub stage is considered at a shop "wtf is that?". Some people at the shops are very knowledgeable with "Car audio" but haven't heard of "sundown, fi, ssa, etc" but that doesn't mean they aren't good at what they do. Some say workers at the shops will even talk down these products and say their inferior to their merchandise, which I wouldn't agree with either (can't judge something you don't know). Now on the flip side, people on the forums think everything "underground" small based companies making audio products are simply amazing and better then mainstream products, some nuthug certain companies like crazy stating it is the best, yet they haven't compared it products made by alpine,kicker,mtx,infinity,jl,jbl,etc... I personally have a sundown amp, it works well haven't had any issues with it, but I haven't ACTUALLY tested it against the above companies amplifiers in any way shape or form, I bought into the hype and it seems to produce. BUT I honestly don't know if it's any better then an alpine amp. I guess all I'm trying to say is, don't down talk a company or it's products when you haven't actually had any experience or testing with their stuff. I've used sundown, ssa, and fi equipment, all of which have produced great results, but until I try a different brand driver and amp I'll never actually know. And...I'm done.
  21. That's some nasty trunk rattle. Other then that looking pretty sweet. Get a video of the driver playing
  22. How about if the guy says that to run 1/0 wire from your battery to your 3000d is "overkill", all you need is 4 gauge. Kind of seems not knowledgeable to me! Then in your case the guy isn't...
  23. You have to remember there are a lot of car audio companies producing crap to top notch quality at varying prices, just because they haven't heard of sundown doesn't mean their illegitimate or not knowledgeable...
  24. the new icons are rated at 1250rms each, an additional 250watts to each driver is fine, so you could 1500rms to each icon, at least I would. Either setup is going to get loud and sound good, but which will be louder may be dependent on your vehicle and enclosure. Either way you can't go wrong, have fun deciding btw I Loved my icons, wish I would have kept them and done another build with'em
  25. Well you haven't missed anything important, just another person who has a lot to learn...and not just in car audio....
