  1. If he is tuned at 29hz he is gonna need a lot of power to hit 146+.
  2. Would there be any negative effects from running all-thread though the back of my box directly into the cab of my truck. The back wall of my truck is already threaded and I could strongly secure the box this way. But Im wondering over time will I get leaks or put to much stress on the MDF. I will be using 1in MDF more than likely. I would seal it and also use a 1/2in rubber mat between the box and back wall and floor to help with sound deadening and vibration. I also will be using the back seat metal bracket to mount the floor to, I can also run allthread through box and floor threaded directly to the metal brackets. This will be a semi wall and will probably make beauty panels to give a wall effect. Any other ideas? I hate to drill through the box as I am always concerned with leaks after spending hours building a box

Use 3/4 MDF and you can get it at home depot / lowes. Also without exact trunk dimensions you will not be able to design anything until you know what your limits are. You can have a 3.75cu box tuned to 32hz and use many many many different measurements to come up with that. Its not quite as easy as one may think. Get your measurements and contact someone to do the design for you and cut sheets.

It might be a good idea to actually "have" a vehicle before asking questions and wasting everyone's time.
  6. I wonder how the q's would do in a blow through application. My truck would be perfect for one because I have two rear bucket seats and about 15 in between them. I may go ahead with the wall first and see how bad I miss my rear seats
  7. After much thought I have just ordered two loaded 18in FI Q's. Also have one of Sirlancelot's Crunch GP3000D-pro's coming. Gonna start on the build next week. Shits getting serious...LOL Based on my last Q I cant imagine how two 18's will sound in a truck that peaks around 30hz..
  8. Well its textured somewhat. Its just fake leather but looks and feels good to the touch. Cleans nicely to with soap and water. The terminals are just zinc plated all thread. They work just fine. Thanks
  9. Can't wait to here your opinions on the SP4's
  10. It is regular flat back paint brushed on. It was still wet when he took pics. I will let him give his opinion but it slams hella hard. Threw the box in my truck to test before his and seriously pounds. Very clean, tight, deep and hard hitting. Making me rethink my build and I may just snatch up some Zcon 18's
  11. The vids you post walking around showing flex was your car not at idle? Or are you running a high idle controller? Just curious.

haha, sorry I guess I read what I wanted to. LOL if you hear port noise coming off the door just move it back some.

It may not make any difference to the ear if its in a trunk. Only one way to find out
  14. Assembly will be complete tonight. Should be in his Explorer slapping by Thursday at latest. Will post pics tonight also. Picking up my router and gonna flush mount the sub. I'm older, picky and slow...lol Spent 6 hours last night just doing cuts, did the 45's this morning before leaving for my office and some assembly. Gotta get his sub over here for bracing placement. It will have 1 1/8th hardwood dowels.

Looks fun!! Love me some heavy dumbells.
  16. Can you please give me a price on a 240+ bolt in replacement for a 2007 F250... Thanks Cant seem to find it on the list. PM or post either way is fine thanks
  17. I didnt realize adding power could affect freq of tuning..... I learned something today if this is true..
  18. My lord that looks painful
  19. With the new box we will shoot for 4.5cu tuned to 34hz, ....67.5 total port. So 15sqin port per cube. This is all after double baffle and braced strongly. Sub up slot port back.
  20. Can I add that the Zcon was KILLING the lows in my truck. My truck peaks at 30hz on the meter and the Zcon was a beast even on 1500 watts. Great sub!!
  21. We will find out tomorrow, my guess is that is is gonna slap hard and dig deep in a different enclosure. It will also be seeing a tad more wattage but not much. SA-1500.
  22. I aimed for the lows with my build. And because of this I can tell my enclosure does not care for the higher notes (above 47-50) I fell like yours is the exact opposite, you higher notes had much more punch/authority than mine but it didn't seem comfortable on the lows. I am really curious to see how the Zcon will sound in a low tuned setup. This may effect my upcoming purchase choice....lol. Btw for anyone that doesn't know mine is 3.65cu tuned at 29hz. My truck seems to peak right now around 31hz We can hook up tomorrow if you want.
  23. I heard it to and didnt say anything. I was assuming it was your box. Let's throw it in my box and hook it to my sundown amp and see it still does it. You know my enclosed will hammer the lows so let's check it out. If it is your enclosure we will start on a new one for you. Someone is buying my Q tomorrow so box will be empty and power supply waiting and wires waiting. Let me know I personally think the enclosed is too big, it may be leaking, and also the port seems huge for such a big box. It sounded like a unloading issue to me personally
  24. I would do a down firing 4th order design out of birch. Spray with bedliner and it would be fine. Similar to this, one I thought of right away and one I found searching online I would have the opening recessed like the one I drew so water would not run in the opening if it did rain.
  25. Looks like I will either try a SP4 15 or may stick with with the Q line and do two 18's in my design of 16.5cu at 30hz. I love me some lows. May be much less wait time on the Q's also
