"New" JBL GTQ200!
I am thinking late 80's early 90's but just a guess. I did find some gut pics for you to compare to and a manual if you don't have one. http://manuals.harman.com/JBL/CAR/Owner%27s%20Manual/GTQ200-400%20om.pdf http://ampguts.com/gallery/showgallery.php?cat=972 Hope that helps and good luck with it!!

5 to 10 MPH my A$$
I would have to agree with Duran, once that car started sliding on ice there is no rolling resistance so the speed I feel would have increased. The manf. just don't build cars like they use to. Mostly aluminum and plastic, they just can't take the hits any more. Glad your bro is ok and good luck with the repairs.

Help with new system (mainly mids and highs)
I'm a little confused by the items you have listed, from what you listed the thread should read "mainly highs". What is your goal with this setup. I understand the wanting to possibly go active, but with the list of items the most prevalant sounds will be above 3-5K and the midrange/midbass will be lost.

for sale thread/section on SSA
Thanks for the posting of this suggestion. I'm not to excited about breaking the "For Sale" posts into sections, I beleive this will cause to much of a problem since so many sellers have multiple items that they offer. It is nice to check a sale from a seller and see all they have to offer in one thread in stead of looking through 4 or more from one seller. I do like the idea of having the "close/sold" option, but sometimes this is just a problem caused by the user reading the thread not reading the thread completly. I do want to say thanks to the mods for trying to keep the for sale threads on point (sometimes there seems to be to many additions to threads when there is no interest in purchasing the items)

Being that I work in the Automotive feild, it has allways been interesting to me that sometimes people just don't get it. I ran across this video which is a great example of what you have to deal with, of course I have to hold my tongue unlike the owner in this example. http://www.xtranormal.com/watch/7452561- Trip to the salt mine
