  1. The 10" enclosures have been coated in resin and the 15" has been covered with fleece. Another test fit before the 15 gets resined. Now we can start to put on the layers of matting to get the strenght in the enclosures. I'm guessing about 6-8 layers. We shall see... By sefugi at 2010-06-05
  2. Yeah, we have discussed 15 only, just the 10's. Deffinately "keep it simple stupid" comes to mind, but the other saying "won't know till you try" rings in as well. Being the center console is setup with switches for the sub amps my son likes the idea that he can listen to the 10's for average music without the 15 and the 15 without the 10's. I don't know, I'm confused now! Thanks for the comment, if we screw it up, you told us so(politely I may add). Thanks
  3. My son thanks you for the back-up on his thoughts for the grilles, and I Thank You for the comments.
  4. Now this post is the beginnings of something never attempted by myself nor my son. Ever heard of 10lbs of crap in a 5lb bag??? Well we are attempting to put 120lbs of crap(just a figuire of speech) in a 20lb spot. We have come to an understanding that because of space limitations we have to make some choices on a happy medium between looks, space and performance of the products we have chosen. So, that being said we have come up with a design that should give a nice wow factor and still have decent performance. We also were trying to make sure that all the tail-light and such were accessable once everything will be installed.(Don't want to tear out the system to change a bulb.) The looks of this box for the 15" sub is really scarry. By sefugi at 2010-06-05 Mock-up of the 2-10's and the 15"--Not to sure at this point...Does seem to have an ok flow from one to the other... 18. Sir-Lancelot, This is being posted directly for you! I am a 45 year old MACHINE, probly in need of some mantenance but in GREAT working order. What color rice, well the only rice I could find was white or brown. So we went to Automotive Repair Tools, Automotive Accessories, Auto Body Tools - Eastwood Company and picked out Cruise Night Metalic Blue. Whole car will be painted this color minus the portion faceing the sky(hood, roof, and hatch)which will be Eastwood's Blvd Black. Urethane Enamal single stage paint shot as a base-coat clear-coat using Eastwoods clear. By sefugi at 2010-05-31 Here is a sample of the paint I let my son shoot on the fuel lid ad a tester By sefugi at 2010-05-31
  19. I you are relying on the RE calculator for all your specs you may want to compare it to some other builder programs. Since I've been on this forum I've heard from numerous posts that the RE calc. is not correct and when I've compared it to others I always find differences. My info may not be correct but you may want to look into it before finalizing your box specs. Good Luck!
  20. I thought I would enjoy doing the body and paint, I guess the outcome is enjoyable or hopefully it will. I have great respect for guys that have awesome paint jobs, I can see how much work goes into it. Getting to the prime stage wasn't bad, but all the block/wet sanding is so time consuming. Nothing speeds it up. Taking a break this morning, might get some more done this afternoon. Give me few months after I finish this project and you can make a rode trip down, over 1400 miles between us, your choice....
  21. Hey now you got room for 2 bags of groceries and 3 bottles of water, Your set!! Glad this worked out for you, I've seen a lot of great sounding systems with sealed boxes that get very LOUD!
  22. No beer cans in sight, Why the photos so blurry!! LOL! Great lookin box guys!! SSA Intervention!
