  1. Thanks for the quick reply. I usually do not listen to my music with the sub blarring, just like to blend it in. The only times there is any chuffing is while playing songs that have real low frequencies in them. Example would be Young Jeezy - Put on, the lowest note in that bass line will do it. I can't hear it in the front of the car and only can when I'm actually watching it with the trunk lid open. It sounds like I probably wouldn't gain anything and or notice anything by changing the box. I will keep it the same then. I haven't got my car metered yet, and not sure if I will ever get to. Thanks for the reply again, I appreciate it. Thanks, Tony Nelson
  2. Hey guys. I recently completed my build using an IA DR12 in 2.2 cubes at 31 hz. My port area right now is 25 in^2. I do get a some port noise on the lower notes in some songs. I was just wondering if I should rebuild a box using more port area. Just not sure if it would make a differance or not. It gets plenty loud right now, I just have had a "what if" idea in my head since I noticed it. Any input would be great. Thanks Tony Nelson
  3. At 4 ohm mono I believe. Ok. I might just get one then
  4. Can you run the rear two channels bridged for a sub? And the other two channels for front stage? Just making sure.
  5. Tony Nelson posted a topic in Test 1, 2, 3...
Just get the dayton DVC model from parts express. basically the same woofer.
  6. my home music system for now. thats all i got for now Those some rs-150's or 125's? Did you design projects and xo's? or use someones build?
  7. I was definately worth the wait. I recommend your products to everyone that I know.
  8. Thanks guys. It was a nice change to be building a box for myself now, and not for other people. Here is a link to all the pictures I took of the build. Too many to post I think. ImageShack
  9. I just want to say thanks to all who helped me with this purchase. I absolutely love my Death Row. All I have been doing is driving around listening to music. Everything sounds great on it, and rap is just crazy. I know there are way louder systems then mine, but mine is plenty loud and sounds really good also. Thanks SSA for the great support and great forum, Thanks Incriminator for making such a bad ass product!!! Here are some pics from beginning to end. Box is 2.2 cubes at 31hz, Port area is 25^2 inches. Again, I would like to say thanks to all who helped. This forum is the best I have ever been apart of and the support is awsome. SSA and IA have a new customer for life!!!
  10. Here are some more pics. I finished the box two days ago. I used a gray textured spray paint. I have used it on a couple of friend's boxes. I really like how it turns out. The port has flat black spray on/inside it. Really like how this box turned out. I'm not sure why it looks like a light spot in the paint on top edge of box. In person it does not seem that way. I will also post this in the build log section. Hope you guys enjoyed the pictures.
  11. Some More pics of the build. Not quite down with the box. Still need to do some sanding and finishing, but wow is the death row insane!!! All in all, the seams came out very good considering I did the whole box with a jigsaw. More pics to come... (here is link to pics, Not sure why they are so large. http://img185.imageshack.us/i/1000854.jpg/)
  12. Hey guys, I am back in town. I will work on getting those pics up. for now here is a link to some of them. http://img248.imageshack.us/i/1000843c.jpg/ (Death Row 12 compared to Fi audio X12)
  13. Lookin good. I wish I could get mine metered, as it sounds pretty loud to me.
  14. Hey guys. I just finished my sub box last night at about 3:30 am. It comes out to about 2.2 cu. ft. @ 30-31hz. Due to some lack of equipment, I had to build everything with a jigsaw. Not the easiest thing to do. I took some pics of the build, but cannot add pictures yet, I am to newbish I guess. Anyway, I have been playing the sub today on work breaks and driving around town...All I have to say is WOW. I have it hooked to a Rockford P1000-1BD at 1 ohm, and it hits extremely hard. When I first hooked it up, the bass was pretty loud, just as loud as my Boston G5 was, and to my amazement, the subwoofer was hardly even moving!!!. I listen to a variety of music, but mostly rap and rock. The death row absolutely destroys rap music. It hits very low bass with authority. Also in shock, it plays just as clearly if not clearer then my old subwoofer did. This I probably like the most about it. On rock, it is very tight and quick. Double bass sounds awsome. I can feel it in my chest everytime. I am almost scared to let this thing loose, as it might break something in my car . I am very pleased with my new Death Row. It was worth the month's wait to get it. I also want to say thanks to SSA for their outstanding support this last month. They answered my emails basically the same day I sent them. Always kept me updated on my woofers progress when I asked them about it. So thanks again SSA, just got a new customer for life!!! Another thanks to Nick for such a badass product. I will definately tell friends to buy some of your gear. Thanks for answering my emails as well, very helpful. I will post my build log when I am able to. I'll be outta town for 2 weeks, So when I get back I will clean up my box, paint/carpet it, and put up my build log. SSA and IA are the shit!!!
  15. Very nice. I know IA says its not recommended to run them sealed, but what did you think? My Death Row 12" d2 should be here wednesday or thursday. I cant wait.
  16. I know I grabbed one during black friday sale. $65!!!. I didn't really need it, but couldn't pass it up. I threw it in the sealed box I had laying around. 1 cu. ft. and it played pretty well. I was running about 400 -500 watts to it, played very nicely. It dug a little deeper then my Boston G5 did, but wasn't as loud or accurate. That could have been all install related, but I was very happy with my X-12 woofer. Money well spent.
  17. Noice!! Mine should have shipped. Friend is building an enclosure for me. 3.0 tuned to 30. Should turn out pretty nice. I am getting on his TL when I go to pick up the enclosure. I will post pics and numbers Kef I have no way of measuring mine. A local shop always has a get together and they set up a TL, so maybe I'll do that if I'm in town. I will post pics though
  18. OH YA!!! My Death Row shipped this morning!!! Bad thing is I don't have time to build a box this weekend because I have tests to take. I work all next week then I am leaving to North Dakota next saturday for two weeks to see family. Damnit. When I can I will post my build log with lots of pictures for everyone on here
  19. Is there a particular reason you want to run sealed in HT? If you have the room for the box, build it tuned in the low 20's and you should be pretty happy. If you do go sealed however, you will most likely need to add some EQ to the bottom end to hear it.
  20. My status has just been awaiting shipment. hurry up and ship lol.
  21. I can't wait. hopefully it will have the accuracy I was looking for, because I already know it will be loud enough
  22. Nope. About to reach the one month from order mark. SSA says IA is backed up, I have spoken to Aaron about it. I wanna know how far backep IA actually is right now? And whether I will get the woofer before summer is over or not. For fill in, I am running two ED e3.8's though in a sealed box. My buddy who bought my G5 had 4 of these eights in his truck, then his cobalt. They don't sound bad, just not near enough bass. But they work for now. Just wish my Death Row would hurry up
  23. I do wish they would ship me my death row soon. Almost been a month now. By the way, alot of bad ass gear you have there
  24. I have seen that video. It was informative. I just wanted some real world experience or tests thats all, if there were any at all. Thanks for the in depth explanation though, very cool.
  25. Company support is very true. I was just chatting with you a little bit this morning about my DR 12 order. I sent emails, walked away, came back and you had replied. Very cool. I really appreciated that. I wish I had money, I would compare the icon, lms-r, and the death row. would be very fun to do. Anyway, thanks for the response.
