  1. Thats what I was thinking, but will making the port area bigger make the frequency its tuned for higher or lower?
  2. I'm pretty sure that neither of my local shops carry RE, but I'll check around though.
  3. Nick and Scott got me taken care of, Fi has the best customer service of any company I've ever dealt with. I can't wait to get my BTL!

yeah mine always break off For real, mine does too. With that BTL it will probably fall off anyways, just wall it.
  5. Thats not too encouraging to hear, were they DOA when he got them, or was something else wrong?
  6. So how would you even go about mounting something like that?
  7. As much as you can get someone to pay for them.
  8. Was there a question there somewhere?

Please don't spam the board, you will be banned. Edit: I'm sure you mods have it under control, but I'd suggest banning the IP since this is the second account this guy has made.
  10. I don't think you could paint subs, I would think it would wear off very quickly, unless they were for display only.
  11. If he's done work for SEMA, I'd say he's also over my budget. Being out of area isn't really a big deal, I wouldn't care to ship it.
  12. Well, currently I've just got stock coaxials, with the front driver side blown. I've got a Fostage P3002 that I'll probably use with them, its 150x2 at 2 ohm, so it would be perfect for the XXX's. I'll mount the 6.5s in the doors and the tweeters on the a-pillars. I was thinking that they should do pretty well at complimenting my BTL 18 I ordered yesterday. I was just wondering if anyone on here has them and what they think of them. M5, why do you say negative? Have you heard them and don't like them? BTW, my sig quote is from Devil's Rejects, I love that movie.
  13. I'm thinking about getting the P4200, its got great reviews on Amazon, supposed to be alot better than the P4100 in certain aspects. I've currently got an Alpine CDA-105, and like the iPod controls, but going by the reviews on Amazon, the P4200 has better iPod controls, built in bluetooth, and all kinds of other cool shit. I haven't been able to find any negatives on it as of yet. I'll also probably be getting a rear view camera to go with it. I think I'll mount my camera on the top of my truck cause I do some 4-wheeling occasionally and if I mounted it on the bumper it would probably end up getting ripped off. If anyone has one I'd like to hear your opinions of it.
  14. thanks Thanks for all the hard work and info what kind of head unit do you have that accepted 8gb and 16gbs. Thanks If you do end up getting another HU, I love my Alpine CDA-105 for its external hard drive/flash drive, and iPod capabilities. I think I'm fixing to switch to one of the Pioneer DVD players though.
  15. I think I first found something on Steve Mead, got interested in Fi through him, found this site through Fi's. The forum leaders here seem to be far more knowledgeable than the ones on other audio forums. I'm so glad I found this place. Ordered a BTL 18 yesterday, I'd like that thank Steve Mead for introducing me to Fi, and teaching me so much through his build logs. That guy is so great at car audio fabrication, and its not even his full time job.
  16. Thanks man! I really appreciate it, I was hoping I would catch it before ya'll started building it. I'm glad I chose a company with such great customer service. BTW, I can't wait to hear that thing. I'm sure I'll be recommending you guys to everyone I know based on customer service and quality, but I'm sure the sub will also speak for itself.
  17. I'm thinking about getting a set of the XXX components. Anyone have any experience with them? Positives, negatives?
  18. Bump, just want to make sure NDMstang or somebody sees this before they start building my sub.
  19. You really seem like you don't want to try to build one yourself, but I second everyone else on it not being that hard. You can find some designs right here on the site. All you need is a skill saw and a router or a sawzall for cutting the circle. After you get through your first one, you'll never have to worry about paying someone to make you one, or buying a prefab again.
  20. A removable port? Not sure I've ever seen one, I can't really even picture what you mean.
  21. Yeah I'm replacing everything with the 18. I personally think that the 12s and 15 sound better together than they do separate, but I'm sure the 18 will be badass. Different size drivers in the same ride = no good. I'm sure your probably right, but why? I personally thought it sounded a lot better when I added the 12s.
  22. So I ordered a BTL 18 today, and I think I'm going to base my enclosure off the one for the XCON optimal one thats here on the site. It says that box is tuned for 30 hz. Fi recommends tuning to 32 hz for the BTL. I don't really figure that the 2 hz will make that much of a difference, but I could be wrong. What I'm planning on doing is putting the port on the other side of the box, so that the driver would be facing up towards the roof of the vehicle, and the port would be facing forwards, toward the front of the vehicle. My question is will putting the port on the wider side of the box, (25.25 in. vs 22 in.) put me closer or farther away from the 32 hz? Also, I'm planning on covering the box in bed liner, like in OldSkool_08's build ( OldSkool_08's Incriminator and Sundown build. - SSA Car Audio Forum ). I thought that looked pretty badass.
  23. I'm waiting on the UPS man to bring me my Fosgate T-1500. On their site, in the custom shop section, they have this badass paint job on one... As far as I can tell though, they're not even selling them. I emailed one place I found online for a quote, and they told me that they could do something similar for $300-600, depending on how many images and how much detail. I was wondering if anyone on here knows of anybody that does any airbrush work that might be a little cheaper. I'd like to go ahead and get it done while I'm waiting on my BTL 18 to get here.
  24. build log forsure! if you want to face the port towards the inside of the vehicle then go ahead Yeah, I'd like to make a good build log, but all I've got is a shitty cell phone camera to work with. I've got a nice Canon digital elph, but its been lost at my dads house for over a year. I'll have to see if I can borrow a camera from someone. I can't wait to get everything. This will be the most powerful system I've ever had.
  25. Yeah I was hoping I'd be allright since I caught it a few hours after I ordered. Edit: While we're at it, can I change the dustcap color from fire to engine turn? Haha, sorry for being so indecisive, I'd just like to get everything perfect the first time. I plan on making a plexi amp rack with a mirror on the bottom, thought the engine turn would compliment the mirror after thinking about it. Promise I won't ask for anything else, except maybe a free sticker.
