My first box build...
LOL, thats exactly what he said. "You could mow three yards in an hour and make $60, and we've spent over ten hours on this box."

My first box build...
I was telling my dad that people pay big money to have boxes like this built. I asked him if he would be interested in helping me on anymore of them to sell, and he said that for as much time as we've put into it, that he didn't think it would be worth it. I'm thinking about buying up some power tools as I get some money. I'd definitely like to build some more in the future.

BanginGMC's Build Log | The Rebuild
Why would you want to "sandwich" the ground to the body instead of just running it to the frame instead?

Enclosure Build for stefanhinote (Two 12 Inch Sundown Audio SA's)
Thanks for the info man. I should be finishing up my box tomorrow and hopefully painting it sunday. Do you think it would be alright to use bondo or some other body filler to cover the screw holes, or should I try to find some kind of wood filler or putty?

Need to talk to Scott
After I placed my order, I wanted to change it from D1 to D2, also wanted to change the logo color. They got back to me within a day, and got everything straightened out. I've got nothing but great things to say about Fi. I'm not sure why it took them awhile to contact you, but its going a bit far to say that their customer service sucks, it surely didn't for me. I would have to say that they have exceptional customer service. I just would hate for this post to sway anyone away from Fi, because they have great products, and awesome customer service, for me anyways.

Enclosure Build for stefanhinote (Two 12 Inch Sundown Audio SA's)
We use a primer and a latex based paint as MDF is very porous. Andrew What kind of black is that, flat or semi gloss? I'm going to be painting the outside of my box with this textured spray paint I got. I'll probably use black for the port, I think that would look cool. So would you primer the whole thing? Do you use any special kind of primer, or does anything work? Thanks for the help!

Making your own bass knob?
I get you, does the amp have separate inputs for front, rear, and sub? If so then you should be fine, just put a potentiometer on the RCAs for the sub.

Word on the Street
Sounds like it will definitely be interesting. If I was closer I would certainly go. Anyone that goes, be sure to make some videos!

SAZ 1000D sub wiring question
I've never seen a sub before with a switch to go between two and four ohm. Are these common? Seems like a pretty novel idea.

Making your own bass knob?
I think it should work the same way on a 5 channel if you just put a potentiometer on the RCA's. Not really related, but in Steve's T15K Escalade build, he put a RF bass knob into the lighter socket, and made the lighter into the bass knob. I thought that looked awesome. I'm going to attempt to do it on my Explorer.

Is this normal?
I've actually watched that video before, but I didn't remember the part about the holes not being in the surround. Thanks for posting it. Answered my question, it is normal.

Rebuild tyme for the lil s10
Everything looks great man, nice work. I'm curious as to why you didn't make the subs fit flush with the box. Looks great anyways though.

Is this normal?
Allright, thats cool. I knew it wasn't a big deal, as I was going to have to drill out the holes anyways. Just wondering if it was like that on all the BTLs or what.

My first box build...
Well, I got a little bit more done on it today. I didn't get started until late, and it was hot as hell outside, so I didn't work on it for too long. I'm hoping to get finished putting it together tomorrow. Maybe get it painted on sunday. I had to drill out the holes in my BTL to accommodate 1/4" bolts, also because the holes didn't go through the foam on the top. I posted a thread in the FI forum asking if this was normal. I remember seeing a thread before about the holes not being big enough for 1/4" bolts, but I've never heard anything about the holes not going through the foam. I got the brace mounted on the back of the port today. I'm glad that JBLCAMRY reminded me about that. I also did some sanding trying to round out the edges. Here is a picture of the edges of the port after sanding.

Is this normal?
The foam on the top of the basket didn't have the mounting holes drilled in it. Also, the holes were a tad small for a 1/4" bolt. I saw a thread on here before where someone drilled theirs out to accommodate 1/4" bolts, but I've never heard anything about the holes not going through the foam. Is this normal, or did they just forget to put the holes in mine?

15" xcon not good at upper bass??
As already stated, its not the subs fault, its the box tuning. What did you expect by tuning so low?

BRAVOX Audio now available on the SSA Store
No as in you have no experience, or no as in I should just work on the front stage?

Not trying to be a dick, but why though? You can do anything with ABS plastic that you can do with fiberglass.

Never Competed but thought about it? I welcome you to!
I definitely won't be competing. I'll be lucky to have my system fully completed by then. I just want to go check everything out. I've never been to a audio competition. I never even thought they had them around here, haha.

Hell yeah, do you have a link, or info on where its at and everything? I'd like to go. If anyone else on the board lives anywhere close we should meet up. Edit: Also, I've probably made Knoxville to Nashville in 2.5 hours when I was living there and driving back and forth, but I don't think you could do it driving the speed limit. Maybe from west Knoxville to east Nashville or something. Where I'm at is about an hour from Knoxville as it is.

/////Alpine PDX 1000 Review
Thats not much of a review. Pics would also be great. Edit: Why would you want fiberglass speaker terminals?
