So to get things going I used to run 2 sa12 on a bc2000 in my 04 cavalier.. Sold car with subs went about 5 years without any subwoofer. Got into bikes mostly other week was browsing craigslist for some cheap setup to throw in the focus well ended up coming across the post about ssa opening up in norwood he'll that's 5 min from me so I headed on down. That's where I met the man Mark Lafountain and shit just fell into place I foolishly bought a dcon and sealed kaotic 10 box from him only to want more a couple days later. At this point I was using loc tapped into the front speakers ., WASTE OF TIME stock unit eq out the bass.. Mark said when he heard it something doesn't sound right and suggested I run a different input signal so I did so direct from my phone big difference ..so at that point I decided to change out the head unit .. However a day or so later I wanted more ..... Keeping in touch and talking to mark he said he had a xcon that needed a recone in the back I jumped on that deal although hesitant as I was new to reconing a sub .. One night of YouTube videos and I was sure it was going to be easy .. He set me up with a new 10" basket stickers wire the works awesome guy can't say enough a out the service I got. Took it home with a couple borrowed tools from him I got it going, let it sit overnight next day my prefab 2ft box 32hz showed up I free aired the sub all was good threw it in the box ans holy shit she bumps.... Clean tight musical however it gets down !!! I'm running an apcl1000d at .5 ohm yellow top battery and 1/0 wire. And she hits hard.. Couldn't be happier next will be big 3 then maybe later a bigger amp.

Your port location is fine and actually it has been doing well in trunk cars to have a side firing port. Yeah turn that box around and you will enjoy it more. my concern was the port will be closer to the inside of the car if i turn it around and will be firing at the tire well

Theres a guy in my area with a term lab ill have to see if i can get him to come over one day for a couple hours and see what happens ! i will make sure to get a video

hmm try taking your dustcap off maybe at 1ohm your just pushing to much air for it to be loud .................only thing that makes sense

How the hell? Magic coils.... if he added another wired the same it would give him 2 ohm maybe his amp pushes 1000rms at 2 ohm ? OP: have you checked the subs coils with a dmm ? maybe its not a d2 or maybe its not wired correctly and you pushing more then u think to it

i would think the flatline would handle 500-750 that that amp is throwing at it fine sounds to me like your clipping it as others have said my sa-12's got warm with my crappy power acoustik pushing maybe 700 watts to both of them i new it was clipping now i have my crescendo bc2000 and i can play that close to full tilt and they run cooler then with the acoustik clipping = heat

Rather than make a new post .... can i fit 4 12's in the trunk properly ?? 17"h x 31"w x 27"d are my max trunk dimensions right now with my current box im hitting 141.6 db on the term lab pass window down box is subs fireing front port driverside rear 17.5h x 27w x 25d very tight fit becuase of height she rubbed pretty bad lol i ask because im thinking about adding 2 more d4s and going .5 ohm

set by ear as i dont have an o-scope i do have a multimeter though but i didnt understand the instructions on how to do plus alot of music ranges on sound one song may hit hard but be a lower volume i have yet to hear them make any unusual noise

got my 2 sa-12s in a 5 cube box tuned to 30-31hz using 2 4" aeros anyway i just got my crescendo bc2000 and i was playin today had to be pretty close to full tilt although amp clip light never came on anyway i am very happy with the performance of my amp and subs and box !! once done after about 10 min or so of playing different songs here and there i felt my dust caps and noticed they were luke warm now i went directly to the ports didnt smell anything is this normal ? sorry but first system i have ever had that was capable of actualy flexing anything so i had to play with it

Glad he is ok i no how it is up here and yes we do just hit the damn deer far less damage as for the car well im sure it will buff right out

well box is done lol doesnt look like a pro did it but what the hell i used about 16oz of glue plus a whole tube of silicone she should never and i mean never leak lol seald inside and out plus during assmbly talk about overkill anyway i only used 2 4" x12" Long aeros all they had at the store unless i wanted a whole 8ft tube but it wasnt goin to fit in my cavi lol also when i mesured i forgot to add the width of the mdf into calculations so i had to cut the rear deck a little dont worry i didnt cut anything important box still was very snug all im going to say is i figured i would have to redo the aero ports but i dont think im going to have to beacause this thing pounds and hits the lows great !!!! im getting door flex and i can roll 1 window down put a hat in the window and she shakes pretty good cant wait for my bc2000 so i can push 1200+ rms finaly there only getting about 800rms right now if that

first time building box first time home made aero port lol first time working with mdf all i have to say is i have mad respect for the pople who can do this and make it look good lol im doing my best will post pics when done with the box size i have i might have to do up fireing subs i dont think 27" wide is going to be enough becuase thats outside mesurment the sa-12 takes up 12.5 maybe i can stager them idk

ok thanks now for the final question how are you guys securing the aero ports ?? tight fit with glue ? drill hole through flair and screw down

so what am i looking at with my current configuration ?? would be like 31-32hz right? becuase now im lost lol what do i need to size wise to get my 4.5 cubes and 30hz ? my max dimensions are in first post btw

where do you get 3.5 cube ? im looking at 4.5 also does port displacement effect tuning ? do you calculate port size before or after port displacement and what is 3 4" 22" long aeros going to displace ?

length is not a huge deal i am making them out of pvc
