  1. I have owned only Pioneer headunits in 4 vehicles and have never had one problem with them. Both nice headunits either way!
  2. Triple baffle FTW. Design looks great. Can't wait to see it finished.
  3. Stay tuned: another Icon and DSC1500.1 on its way. MORE BASS
  4. Very nice. CNC machine FTW Can't wait to see it when its finished.
  5. 3000wrms? Get 2 Xcons
  6. Yeah I was looking at Parts Express at different brands. It looks like I could get my whole front stage for under $200! if I go with Goldwood.
  7. I want to upgrade my front stage in my Durango. I was to fiberglass my doors to hold a woofer (maybe 7-8"), midbass (4-5"), and tweeter. Looking at the Goldwood brand? Any other suggestions? This will be an active setup with a seperate amp to power each different set of speakers (1 for woofers, 1 for midbass, 1 for tweeters)
  8. I have purchased products from crutchfield in the past. The higher prices are for warranty, awesome customer service, and if you specify the vehicle you are buying the equipment for the give you step by step instructions on how to install. Also if you need adapter brackets and/or wiring adapters those are included in the price also. Crutchfield is great for people that may not know how to take their dash apart or their interior door panels off, etc.
  9. What are the dimensions you have to work with?
  10. It sounds like your box may not be tuned to 32hz if it is not hitting the lows like you want it to. Can you post dimensions of box along with port dimensions?
  11. Thanks for the input. I'll turn the box today and see how that sounds.
  12. Good stuff man. Builds like this are always cool to see (and interesting ). Nice work on the box, can't wait to see more.

Very nice setup. Way to use your space and awesome equipment.
  14. The Icon really blows me away on how it performs. The accuracy of this driver is amazing and it kills the lows. I don't think I have heard a better driver in the (or near the) price range. Two thumbs waaaaaayy up for SSA. It definitely does more than I expected. I have had a few different setups in the Durango. This is definitely the best sounding setup and the bass output is very nice. The only thing I may change is sub and port location. I will build a few different boxes to see which sound the best. I love it.
  15. Box Building- 2.5cuft tuned to 28-29hz Box finished and installed- sub firing forward port to the passenger side. Amps installed and testing. I am giving the sub roughly 1300wrms.

Thanks bro, I am gonna drive out to Kzoo so i can kick it with you guy's when it's done and do some damage lol It wasn't that bad to do the wiring it was just cold!!!!! Looks great. I'm in Kalamazoo. I want to hear this in person when its done!
  17. Your design looks interesting. I reminds me of a sixth order bandpass box. I think you should try it and see what it sounds like. If you don't like it, scrap it, and build a box you know will sound good.
  18. Thanks everyone. Since I am building the box this weekend I would love some input. I am thinking sub up, port to the drivers side. This is for a 12" icon with aluminum coils. The box would be 2.5 cubic feet. The port would be 12" tall x 3" wide and 36" long. This gives me tuning at about 30-31hz. The setups I had before were sub up port back. But they were also close to the tailgate. This box will be behind my 2nd row and about 2 feet away from the tailgate.
  19. A little more progress. Big 3 redone in 0 gauge- Ordered clear black wire, looks more like brown to me K&N Cold Air Intake False floor frame with kinetik hc600 which is being replaced by a XS Power D1200 as soon as it comes in False floor carpeted and installed. Carpet doesnt match perfectly but its close enough Thats it for now. Sub box being built this weekend! More pics soon
  20. Happy Birthday
  21. You can buy them from the store on this website . From what I have seen on them so far they look to be a great sub especially for the price
  22. True. I'm still working on some 4th order designs actually. Not sure if I'll try the MB's in one or not. Too many subs and not enough time lol. Not a bad problem to have!
  23. What sub(s) and amp(s) are you using? what vehicle is this? If it was me I would build the box the biggest I could outside of the car. Doing this you can make sure your box is assembled correctly and the quality will be better. Removing the box won't be such a problem either. If you absolutely need to go bigger you could build some kind of wall box in your trunk with the subs facing the cabin.
  24. Good choice on equipment. When all is installed I want to see pics! Very interested on seeing how the Skar subwoofers sound
