  1. Its mostly going to be for theater use, but I will use it sometimes for music. You think around 28hz will suit my application for it better?
  2. 6,400 watts on tweeters!?!?! Waaah?! Need pics! An now you just need to find out how to fit this in a car lol
  3. Ok so I have finaly decided to start my home audio setup and I wanted to designing the sub. My plans are to use a ssa DCON 12 in a downfiring box tuned to 25 hz with the port facing forward.I realy want to get a second opinion on this design. The dementions will be 17.5x17.5x17.5, simple enough,it will be constructed out of 3/4 mdf and the internal volume will be roughly 2.23 cuft after sub displacement. Il try to add pics of a cad modle I made of it asap, but as of now, I just want to get a second opinion. Will this work?, or should I go at this a different way
  4. Lol how could those break a window?!
  5. You just killed overkill good stuff
  6. All to comon
  7. Looks clean as hell, it matches perfectaly with your car. Great job
  8. Lol it hapend to me today, I was having a garage sale today and some kids came buy and saw my fi q siting inside my garage and they wanted to check it out so I showed them it, I told them fi has the best prices on quality subs and then one kid said "how is it qality when it's made of paper?, it has to be made of plasic and shaped different to be good" I realy find it funy when people say these kinds of things, it's almost as bad as people saying you can make a sub explode by underpowering it. Lol
  9. Nice man, dirt biking is so much fun. My friend Takes me up to hollister hills here in California. Dirt biking never gets old
  10. Well thar realy depend on what your useing them for
  11. Holy crap!!!! This is going to be insane!!!!! If it happensmak A build log. And I would go with the soundstream xxx's and power them at rms. 60000 watts ftw!!
  12. I would recommend a hifonics hfi1000d if you are tight on cash. If you don't have a low budget on this build, I would go with a aq1200d or a saz-1000d.
  13. Will do! Il have pics up as soon as I get the sub.il probably make a build log in the home audio section so keep an eye out. Thanks for your help!
  14. Alright then, how does a 2 cubic foot box at 25 hz sound.
  15. Is there a particular reason you want to run sealed in HT? If you have the room for the box, build it tuned in the low 20's and you should be pretty happy. If you do go sealed however, you will most likely need to add some EQ to the bottom end to hear it. well I want to run it seald mostly because it will have a flatter response and one very important thing I left out is it will mostly play music. I guess " home theater" isn't realy the correct way to explain what I want to do.
  16. Just woundering if a 12" Dcon would work well in a home theater system. It would be in a seald box powered by a 250 watt Dayton plate amp. Andanother question, can you get the Dcon without the logo on the dustcap? Caus I want to go with a real clean look.
  17. Go seald of you want a flat response. You should still be able to get the ouput you ate looking for too. Those xcons are beasts.
  18. Some seas tweeters or audax tweeters should sound great they sel them at madisound.com also parts express has some good tweeters, I am currently runing some Dayton audio 1 1/8 silk dome tweeters and they sound great. Hope this helps.
  19. You souldet need much bracing. you wouldent realy need any bracing as long as the box is made of at least 3/4 mdf. And if I where you I would have a double layer front baffle just to be safe
  20. If you plan to go seald, go with high qts but leave the option blank if you are goin ported, simple as that.
  21. with the room you have, 6 15's is realy pushing it with the space you have
  22. Nice, I might buy one when it comes out. Looks sweet.
  23. ya I will probably go with carpet and yes, I will most definitely be tinting the windows. Thanks for your input!
  24. Wow you guys did great with the paint looks pretty sweet. Can't wait to see it finished!.
  25. Ok so today is day two of my build and i have gotten allot of work done. anyway here are picks of what i have done so far. up to come- electrical upgrades, door components, and amps, and last but not least, loads o sound damping. Ok well here is my dog who is even astonished by the size of the sub What happens when your screws are tougher than your bit industrial grade terminals my friend sitting behind the final product and everything fitting where it should (my friend wrote that) that's it for now, now I am off to buy some 1/0 awg welding cable and a new battery much to come. and what do you guys think would look better to finish the box, carpet paint or bead liner, cause I'm having a hard time deciding
