  3. thanks for all the help guys, we got it figured out. pulled the unit, redid the remote wire, cleaned up some connections, and got the dome lights straight. it was an issue with a wire we pulled while running through the truck to the amp
  4. LMAO.... Yeah, I know. I'm sure it's the same everywhere, but I've seen some really dumb things done. Case in point, just a couple of weeks ago a kid brought his car to me cuz his amp was overheating. He has a 1200watt Planet Audio mono amp mounted to a box housing a pair of 12" Kicker CVR's. Upon investigation, he didn't have enough 4awg wire for the power and ground wires to make it to the amp on the box. So he took a piece of 16awg speaker wire, wrapped it around the power and ground and ran them to the amp. I can only imagine the voltage drop it saw, its probably amazing it still works. The worst part was he said it didn't sound as loud once I moved the amp so the wires would reach it. He said it wasn't as loud.... without the distortion. Dumbass thats the best thing ive heard on here all day. lmao
  5. ok, so i bought we bought a harness from installer.com for the 2010 silverado. @ tirefryr, for some reason there is only a dimmer wire, no illumination. this confuses me bc dont they all have both? my car had both. @ sandt38 we were checking that too, but i dont really think so. these 2010 vehicles have so many buttons though @ the end, we're goin check this now
  6. Yesterday we put the stereo in my cousin's Silverado. We had a remote wire problem and need to pull the HU out today. We noticed last night that his dome lights won't turn off now, even after pulling the key and shutting the doors for a while. It's never done this before until now, is there any chance fixing the remote wire will solve this problem?? Thanks
  7. firefox ftw. the plugins are so helpful, and themes are cool too. i use gmail notifier, adblock plus, flashgot, and some other cool stuff. it's always been fast and secure for me!!
  8. this thing is sick! paint makes the truck for sure. this is your daily driver right?
  9. i say it's real, explains why a sub is louder and flexes more after enough playing. my $0.2
  10. yeah, i've seen the product in store, just out of boredom tried a cheap alternative
  11. If anyone's looking for a cheap alternative. I've been wanting to try and clear my headlights up, they were all yellow and foggy. I did some searching around online and used some ideas for a mixture that came out sweeet. 1. I put two large squirts of shampoo in a cheap spray bottle, filled it with water, shook it, then added a few capfulls of bleach. 2. Sprayed a rag with the mix and squirted a good bit of toothpaste with whitening on the rag. (the grit in the toothpaste is what really helps) 3. Sprayed the headlights with the mix real good and scrubbed the toothpaste on with the rag. Kept spraying the light with the mix and adding toothpaste when needed. Did so for about 5 min a light. I recommend only one light at a time. 4. After cleaning the lights this way, i found some leftover car polish/wax and rubbed it on, let sit for a short while, then cleaned and sprayed with water. The lights look WAY better than before. Not brand new clean but hella good anyways. Lol Sucks that i didn't get a before picture, but if anyone wants to see an after pic, just let me know. Hope they stay this clean for long!! (any other ideas are welcome!!!)
  12. just went take a look, SWEET!

Just buy the bl and call it a day. It will do well on the lows... It's a subwoofer for christs sake, and I know I'm being very generalist right now but sometimes there's no need to get technical especially in this case...
  14. i'd like to now when these things release! looking forward to it
  15. yeah he's gonna use factory door speakers but we have the wires ran for an amplifier/sub setup they haven't made harnesses for his truck yet?? what a pain in the ass For my car, 2011 mustang there is no dash kit/ wiring kit. Some options: 1.I say convince him to buy a refurbed sax-100.2 or sax-125.2 and run a comp set, Ditch the rear speakers, get some Bravox speakers and you're set. 2.You can run ALL new speaker wire, then wire it to the HU. personally i would do the same but he's not gonna go for it
  16. thanks so much man, never seen this site before, very nice!!
  17. oh, and i've talked him into buying a 12" BTL for his truck instead of an L7
  18. yeah he's gonna use factory door speakers but we have the wires ran for an amplifier/sub setup they haven't made harnesses for his truck yet?? what a pain in the ass
  19. A buddy of mine just got a new 2010 Silverado. He took the old head-unit out of his other truck to put in this truck. The HU is a pioneer in-dash double din, not sure which model but it's fairly new. His harness for the old truck (an older silverado 00-05) is not the same for this new truck. We've looked everywhere for a compatible harness but cannot find one. The stereo also doesn't fit where stock double din was, so I guess we will need a dash kit too. Any help would be VERY appreciated. These new vehicles piss me off.. Here is the stock stereo
  20. LOL. i'm only 16, not looking on taking in all adult responsibility yet whats the usual RMS output on the saz1000d anyways??
  21. that is true, only reason i thought to upgrade a bit now is because i have a friend that wants to buy my current 1200d brutus. thanks for that advice though
  22. [[before I get told to buy a Sundown, believe me I want one, I don't have the money. LOL]] Does anyone have any personal experiences using the Hifonics Brutus BRZ1700.1D? I have the BXi1200d right now and i really like it, no problems at all. I saw that the new Brutus (BRZ) is CEA certified, which is nice. Need some extra juice soon so I was looking for a cheap upgrade. Any thoughts, please.
