Sounds like a whole pile of fun.

12" Re Audio SE or SR Subwoofer?
Agreed 100%, but I read on CarAudio.com that the poster has already picked the SR.

You will hate it. I'm quite sure of that...basing this on what I know of you online. I don't particularly care for it and use either OpenOffice or MS Office 2003 on all other computers.

That Chinese New Year messes everything up. They take, what, two maybe three weeks off for that?

Welcome to the IHoP
I have considered VOIP, too. Still have 2 years left on my cell phone contract, though.

JL no longer underrating subs, some info...
I still wonder that. Probably because power handling has little to do with price and original engineering is expensive.

Welcome to the IHoP
Chilly in my bed today, too. Didn't feel like going to school for just over an hours worth of classes.

SoundSplinter Drivers & Home Theater
The advantage of the RL-P's is efficiency and enclosure size. The advantage of the RL-S is linearity. And SoundSplinter drivers are used quite heavily in the home audio world....look at the projects on HomeTheaterShack.com or AVSForum.com.

Welcome to the IHoP
I know there are some 6 zone pre-amps out there, but I dunno if I've seen 8. I'll have a look online in a bit.

Or drink at the house. Are they strict about underage drinking up there. I know around here as long as your not making an ass of yourself or waving your drink in the air they don't care and in Louisiana they don't really give a damn. A lot of places actually scan your id, depends on how you look and what the group looks like that you are with. Us old folk don't really get carded. I get carded about 50% of the time up here and I'm 2 years over the legal age. And 3 years over for cigarettes.

Is Time Alignment All That Great...
It is certainly a great feature if you're unable to compensate for Inter-Aural Time Differences physically. The downside is that you can't account for issues in both seats, but it does great work if you are fortunate enough to be the driver.

Mileva build log.
You're such a good wood worker. I am truly jealous.

Also, someone needs to explain how the fuck WWE is still on TV. But then again, they brought back American Gladiators...... And people wonder why I'm so misanthropic.

Someone needs to tell me why more people don't appreciate Rush.... What a band.

Why does the RL-P model so strangely?
Yup, any model from any company with low Qts has a tendency to model weird in any modelling program (as the framework for each program is the thiele/small models developed decades ago). I've actually calculated a few drivers (one of em the Rl-s series) using those models and came up with negative volume numbers before Sounds like something went wrong then...in order for the volume to be negative, at least one of the quantities would have to be negative....and the RL-S in particular models best in very (very) large enclosures rather than small ones.

C-Note's 2008 Bass Race Build Thread!
Sounds like a potentially awesome build. Just using a single Warhorse...or maybe more?

Welcome to the IHoP
Other opportunities should (will) come up - my PhD will be complete by then. If these guys can offer me tenure then I may consider staying. I would also really like to start up some sort of elite athlete training facility here before I leave and take the business with me. Hopefully it will be back to BC - I can't stand Alberta to be honest. I'm tired of paying $200/month for power ... in BC I paid $95 for two months (hydro) ... car insurance in BC is $1000/year, in AB it would be $12,000/year. Forget that. Besides, there are cows here and it smells - that is bad enough. BC > Alberta > Saskatchewan. But if you they offer you tenure...that's not a bad gig.

Welcome to the IHoP
I know how that goes. She wants to keep what we have or get something used for the next few years because she doesn't want it parked in the middle of a 10,000 vehicle student parking lot ... and I agree. January or April 2010 will involve a significant move (house + job) so we'll have to see how things play out. We'll see what happens. What will cause the move? Are you required to move after that period, or will there be another opportunity for you? What's the situation there?
