Stefan, We are sorry to hear that you did not receive the discount you were promised and we really wish you would have contacted us so we could have corrected the situation. The 50% discount in question was for honorary members of Team Second Skin. This was back in October when we offered the discount and the expiration date was 1 month and was posted in the email that was sent out. I did offer you the 25% discount for being a team member. As you can imagine, I deal with many people on a daily basis and did not recall our previous email conversation when you came by. Alpha Damp is overall 25% thinner than Damplifier Pro(our thickest CLD) but the foil is much thicker. while Damplifier and Damplifier Pro have 6.5 mil foil(for those who don't know, the foil is the "Constrained Layer" and a very important part of a CLD mat.) the Alpha Damp has a 10 mil foil, which is why it is more effective than the other two. Some people use Dynamat which is a very high quality product but expensive. there are less expensive products on the market, such as Fat Matt or Lizardskin, however these products tend to be of a lesser quality than the pricier options. Another option would be to go with products from Second Skin Audio(secondskinaudio.com), the company I represent. keep in mind that there is quite a bit of labor involved in the installation of sound deadeners, and the lower quality products often do not perform as well as the more expensive ones, and sometimes require you to restart the entire project because they fall off. the main thing you want to avoid when shopping for sound deadeners is any products that uses asphalt or roofing materials in it. Dynamat, Second Skin Audio, and a few others do not use any asphalt or roofing materials in their products. I'm sure you will have many people offering you their opinions before 24 hours from now. use this information along with their opinions as you will. AX

What kind of car do you think we should buy to properly represent Second Skin in the lanes and on the street? I Personally think we should have an '08 Mustang, midnight Blue, with the second skin logo painted on the hood in chrome colored reflective paint. what do you think? AX

well right now here's the deal on deals; i talked to Ken, and he sas he's not going to have any sales yet, at least not until we've finished moving into the new warehouse. i'm going to try to talk him into a "just moved in sale" or something similar once we do finally get everything to tucson though. The Spectrum can be used for many things, including as a substitute for Damplifier or Damplifier Pro, however the most effective way to use the Spectrum or Spectrum sludge is to use it as an undercoating to Damplifier or Damplifier Pro, sandwitching a section of your car between two different sound deadeners. The effects of Spectrum in both its forms are similar to Damplifier and Damplifier Pro, meaning it takes care of structure borne noises. a lot o people prefer to use it instead of Damplifier Pro because it can be easier to apply in some cars, however it will require you to mask off areas you don't want to apply it to. AX

the best place to deaden at the start is always the doors. the vibrations from the road come up the tires, through the frame, and then bounce around in the doors, so that's the best place to deaden whenever you start a new project, for future reference. if you havent yet done all of the doors do those first. after that you should focus on the rest of the car, as the rest is more or less effected the same amount by the vibrations that run through the car. except the roof. that's usualy the least effected of all the areas in the car. if by this you mean Ken has not started his own business, you are wrong. the business he owned before this one was built from the ground up by him and only him, and he ran it completely on his own for the most part for 22 years, and when he was done he sold it for a nice profit. the reason he sold it is because he was ready for a new and more challenging venture. i don't know why you automaticaly assume we aren't doing everything we can to keep this business as amazing as it was when ANT ran it, but I can assure you we are as dedicated to this business as ANT was. we have run into a few bumps in the road in the process of moving the business from Phoenix to Tucson, which no one could have predicted, and no plan could have prevented. i don't understand how you can coment on something you have no knowledge of. you have said yourself you have never purchased a business, that you have run a business that has been in your family for 80 years, which is great, but gives you no knowledge of purchasing and running a whole new venture. each business is different and has different challenges that need to be worked out. sound deadening your trunk will definately help eliminate the rattles in the hatch, just by using Damplifier Pro. if you can actually see what two pieces are rattling together, however, it's actually more effective to use something like Overkill or Overkill Pro and place some between the two objects. AX
