  1. Just read your build. It looks really good. Good build to read because you show really well how to do things. Nice build
  2. iPod. Depending on how you rip the songs to your ipod you wont loose too much quality. If youve bought the actual cd from a store and rip it to itunes you can rip in apple lossless format which doesnt compress the file as much as an mp3 and is designed to be lossless meaning it wont lose audio quality. Theres a whole thread on this subject pinned somewhere btw
  3. Yea overall I'm really glad I went with db-r. You guys at ssa really love pics lol sorry for the quality i just did it with my blackberry and im no photographer lol
  4. Yea theres tons of good choices out there. Good luck
  5. I doubt that sony's putting out rated power. Theres lots of choices out there. Sundown Audio makes great amps and they sell them right here at ssa. Or you could look into audioque. Theres lots out there....theres 2
  6. Nice car
  7. Just got my amp from db-r in the mail today and figured id post the feedback here instead of opening a new thread. I called chris at dbr about a refurbed SAX-1200d that Jaccob from sundown said he had just sent in and he was really nice and said he would put it up on the site for me to order (they were out of stock at that time so he put this one up so i could order it if that makes sense lol im explaining this badly). Anyway he was really nice and the amp was sent out pretty quickly. Overall im really happy with it. I havent powered it up yet but so far so good.
  8. Curren$y's awesome
  9. Ever considered a refurbed sundown amp from dbr? it would save you some money. you could get a 1200 or 1500 instead and a bl too with the savings maybe? just a thought. good luck with your system man
  10. That video was crazy haha when he pulled his thumbnail off. I know the lyrics etc are bad but just the stuff they were doing in the video was messed up lol
  11. I have heard BL's sound pretty good in a properly built enclosure. If you want spl you probly want the bl. I'd start by making sure you can fit a proper box for that sub. And I'd install it yourslef not bestbuy save your money
  12. +1 ideally the 12s should have more sq as well. Cheaper to go with the 15. With your budget I'd say get a single 15 maybe a bl or even a q. Depends on your needs. Or even an icon. They're coming out with a new one. It could be worth your wait
  13. Yea you got it. On this site are some box plans. Click on the tech tab and you'll see them it'll show you what a ported box looks like. You can search around and find some plans for the box you want or draw it up yourself. As far as suggestions go it depends if your pusing 2 12s or a single sub but to be honest I don't know enough about that amp to comfortably suggest something. I would definately look into fi. The bl is a good spl sub but its 1000w rms and I don't think that amp can push 2 of those. Maybe 1 15 tho assuming it really is putting out a true 900rms. So hopefully another member can step in and help you out
  14. If I was you I'd go ported. You said you listen to rap so I'm assuming you want a decent amount of output. For rap most people tune to 35hz. But that's just a suggestion I'm unsure how much sq you want I know you said you want sq but when you say rap I can't help but think spl. If your trunks pretty big 15s might be a better option for more output. But some brands I'd look into are fi ssa and sundown there's lots more and its really dependant on what you want out of your sub.
  15. I dont know much about that amp like if it puts out rated power or not but you might wanna look into an SA-12 they have them here for 195. Ive heard they have a good mix of sq and spl. I dont have one personally so you might wanna wait and see what others here say theyre all pretty knowledgable. You should measure your trunk tho measure the opening and see what kinda box you can fit first. Are you going ported or sealed? Check other sub recoomendation threads and see what those guys are including so that you have an idea what the members here need to know to help you. Good luck
  16. What size subs do you want?
  17. You can call them (702)379-4371 and theyll find the nearest dealer to you
  18. Super professional looking box
  19. Wow just read thru this build and its insanely good. Those RCAs are probly my favorite part lol they just look good. Sweet build xcons are sick
  20. What makes you want 2 10" dcons? Knowing your goals helps decide.
  21. Yea haha it is so thats why its so high. For the price tho I cant think of a better sub for my purposes i think it should be good with the SAX
  22. nah its not too bad its 250 shipped to the us. Its normally 200 tho locally so yea technically its 50 dollars shipping lol but its still cheaper than the fi's. I dont think shippings included in the fi's is it?
  23. Just ordered the SAX-1200 today ftw. Thinking I'll go with a Mach5 IXL-15. Better for my budget and I like what ive read about them alot. My friend has the older one without the mach5 logo on the dustcap and I know it sounds good to me. I wanted an Icon but they are out of stock sadly.
  24. Yea been readin around and 30 wouldnt be right for me. Thinking between 32-35hz. Got a friends whose is tuned to 35 which sounds pretty good to my ears but ive only heard rap etc on his system. I appreciate your help M5
  25. Didnt they just win a grammy? But LCD sondsystem has alot of stuff that offers good range and clarity. I can change, someone great, and all my friends are the first ones that come to mind for me. All of TV On the Radio's Return to Cookie Mountain album are pretty great for range too. This has more than likely been mentioned but if you have an actual real cd bought from a store and you copy it to your computer to itunes apple lossless format sound a million times better than aac or whatever the standard one itunes normally selects to import as is. The lossless is like 790kbps and standard mp3 is around 200 if I remember right. Makes a huge difference for sq imo. Just something for anyone who still buys cds to think about
