Buying Speakers
Go to a local best buy and hear the speakers you are considering. That's probably your best bet.

pioneer vs jvc head units
Like Impious said, figure out what features you want and then compare the head units that are in your price range. It doesn't sound like you need/want to go active so that makes finding a head unit pretty simple.

Need to put power to GCON
It is true they are not even close to what they were, but those phantom amps are decent. Just to be clear.. I wasn't disagreeing with him at all, I just figured I would put it so M5 wouldn't have to. I'm using one right now to power my 12" gcon and I like it. The crossovers suck but I use my headunit for that anyways.

Need to put power to GCON
I know M5 will say Precision Power of today is totally different than the old PPI, however, their phantom line of amps look good and people seem to like them. Last I checked, the p1000.1 was under $230. You could look into that.

i thought free shipping from ssa on sundown items?
Unfortunately that requires that you assume that without a shadow of a doubt that your more expensive "quality" product will not fail and also that the less expensive "shitty" product WILL fail. So...if your "quality" product does not fail, and neither does the "shitty" product in fact fail then...geez you'll feel like a jackass. Hell, if both the "quality" and "shitty" product both break, you'll still feel like a jackass. God forbid your "quality" product should fail and the "shitty" product last...that would be a shame, wouldn't it? Moral of the story: Price indicates next to NOTHING about a product. Also, take care of your stuff, no matter how "quality" you feel like it is, or you might just end up feeling like a jackass. I agree with you however I think I wasn't clear enough. I was not insinuating that the higher the cost, the more quality a product is. I was insinuating that more often than not a higher quality product is not going to be the cheapest. I do agree that researching and finding the highest quality product (within the law of diminishing returns) then assessing price would be the wiser route .

KERFING Part 2
I'd be interested in topics like fiberglass and box bracing. I just subscribed too

You pay for quality. When you buy quality, over time it'll break even or actually be cheaper than having to buy multiple shitty products.

CUSTOMER FEEDBACK SECTION for SSA
9/10 experience. Emailed me back very promptly and answered all my questions. Sub took a little bit longer than the expected wait time but it is well worth it for such a quality product. I've definitely got plans to buy from ssa again and have suggested them to friends.

Murder Mat
Even if this Murder Mat is better than other sound deadeners or vice verca, would anyone actually be able to tell (hear or not hear) a difference between the different brands of deadening?

look what showed up today
When I first opened the box I thought the packaging was a bit on the cheapo side, but damn that sub was stuck in place and I had to rip off two of those foam things to get the sub out. So far an A+ experience! Also, I'd like to add that I ordered some stuff from sonicelectronix (two days ago) and within 3 hours of ordering I had a phone call confirming the order, telling me that everything was in stock and telling me everything was being packed up for shipping right then.

Anyone have experience with Vipera?
Of course this is isn't quantifiable data but 5 or so people from across the pond on a bmw forum have used this driver before and were very impressed. But who knows what they have to compare it to. Is it possible to accurately measure xmax just by playing a test tone and using a tape measure? or is it much more involved than that?

I ordered around the 9 of september but talked to Aaron not to long ago about the wait time and he said the build house was finishing their move and that there was a bit of demand. I was in no rush and don't mind waiting a couple extra days. Anyways, here are the pictures. This thing is a monster. Not installed yet, but I'm impressed with it thus far. (trying to fix pictures now)

I've been browsing speakers to replace in my doors as my project is finally coming together and I came across the "Vipera f6." http://lautsprechershop.de/pdf/audiodevelopment/f_line.pdf 26mm xmax... Wow that blows away the exodus anarchy. I highly doubt I would buy them (at around $280 each) however I was wondering if anyone has ever used this midbass or their other products? Interesting product to say the least.
