Impala Rebuild 2012
Well, looks like its time for me to start doing this rebuild instead of constantly talking about it. I know Steve will be happy, I dont have any pictures or have actually started it yet but Im about to pick up my Bravox Components and a spool of XP flex 0 gauge so thats the starting point. Heres a little outline of my current setup and what will be done after I rebuild. Current: 18" BTL N2 (5.5cuft box, 32hz tune) Infinity Reference Component Speakers American Bass VFL 100.1 Amplifier Phoenix Gold Titanium 500.4 Amplifier 4 gauge Wire Capacitor (fail) NEW: New ported box, 6.75 cuft, tuned to 32hz and will ported into the cabin. (18" BTL N2) Bravox CS50k Component Speakers Amp Rack (Make everything look purty) Installing Kinetik HC1400 (Bye bye Capacitor!) Full run of 0 gauge and BIG 3 upgrade

Charging Voltage 15.5volts
Yeah, ill double check sometime today.
-
Charging Voltage 15.5volts
Is this normal? I guess its hard to say, but I own a 2004 Impala, stock alternator. My battery finally died after 9 years of use and when I threw the new one in its charging at 15.5volts. Im just hoping a regulator isnt shot or anything stupid. Obviously constant overcharge can cause batteries to prematurely fail. Just checking to make sure everything is normal here.

I Need an Enclosure Genius
Last time i made calculations I didnt account for a few things including the end correction of my slot port. I hope somebody with a lot of enclosure knowledge can help me out with this. Port Area 126 inches2 Port Tuning 32hz Port Internal Dimensions 9” x 14” x 39.85” Port Displacement (8.25” of the port will be external)(31.6” Internal Port) 9.75” x 15.5” x 14.25” =1.24625651 cubic feet 9.75” x 15.5” x 12.1” =1.058 cubic feet 1.24625651 + 1.058 = 2.30 cubic feet + 0.18 cubic feet (Subwoofer Displacement) = 2.48 cubic feet (Total Displacement) Subwoofer Dimensions Needed (9.23 cubic feet) 36 x 15 x 35.75 = 9.231 cubic feet before displacement 9.231 – 2.48 = 6.751 cubic feet net

Which sub?
Best shallow mount subwoofers iv ever heard of are the JL TW5.. You cant run much else other than a shallow mount with that much of a depth. I may be wrong but just my 2 cents.

Attention CANADIANS.
(Not sure if I posted this in the right section sorry) Considering I'm in college, and I haven't been able to work that much through out the year Iv decided to try and make a little extra money on the side, along with helping out some fellow Canadians. I'm thinking about building a few subwoofer boxes for anyone around my area really. I highly doubt anyone will really even be living near me on here but its worth a shot.. Anyways, if you need some help building a box and live in the Niagara Region id love to help. Thanks.
