Yes,one 15" CAN play louder than two 12's. Heck a single 10" sub can play louder than an 18". Its all dependent on enclosure. For a typical setup though, if two 12's can fit in a proper enclosure they will more than likely be louder than the single 15" as they have more cone area.

Obviously, once everything is done the wire will be hidden and ran underneath the carpet all pretty like. Little update here; re-located my 4 channel out of the way, and temporarily put my Kinetik 1400 in the back corner of my trunk. (This will be replaced with a G31 and secured using a proper battery box). And Iv got both my + and - runs of 1/0 to my back battery. Here are some quick pictures

Just curious if the kinetik will be an upgrade compared to the stock G34 I have up front. The kinetik is smaller than the stock battery, but it's also a battery designed for this type of thing. Might sound like a no brainer but I wanted to make sure.

Hah. M5 don't worry man, I was only seriously looking at making some 4th order ported boxes. I might try my best to make a 4th order bp just for kicks since I have never done one before but I doubt it will come out well at all.. Simple ported box, 8 - 10" aero with a few different port / sub orientations. Also going to fool around with the tuning a whole lot. Probably from 26-38hz.

Just waiting on getting my two 15" icons and, since I have nothing better to do I was wondering if there was any box type or orientation you'd like to see me try in my 2004 Impala. I'm going to try a ton of different boxes and orientations with a lot of testing to see what works out best in my application and I wanted to have some fun with it. I'm NOT doing a wall, but ill be pretty open to anything else you'd like to see me try. I might actually end up using your idea if it works out the best! -Mike

Nice lookin amps.

SSD's would be a great choice for what your are running power wise, aslong as you have the space for them I dont see why they wouldnt work out perfectly. These subs are built very well so you dont have to worry about that. Lastly the IB3 are meant for infinite baffle situations which is not what your looking for.

Well, since I am now working at a local shop I somewhat understand this, you dont want customers going off and buying products that aren't in your store. Instead of telling you how good their products are, they will talk down other products in order for you to make a second chance and go with something local. Not all shops do this but I still do not agree with it either.

For someone who owns 2 corvettes your a pretty angry person.

Well, if your seeing significant voltage drop a second battery in the back would most likely solve this problem considering your only running 1000 watts. Ontop of this I would also do the BIg 3 upgrade at the same time.
