uber budget speaker find
These amps definitely appear to be ZED designed. The boards are strikingly similar to some BOSS amps. I do not like all the jumpers, typical of low budget board design. The big difference between Aura amps and BOSS amps is that Aura actually makes rated power, so I have heard. I am curious if there is a ZED marking somewhere on the board. These look like decent amps. Clean chassis without wasteful add-on. Fuse ratings are on par with output. On the RPM2300 it has 2x40 amp fuses on a 450 wrms output rating. I would expect that in a side by side comparison with a more expensive amp with similar power ratings that there will be no audio difference. I do not have the means to collect amps just for shits and giggles. But if I did I would definitely scoop up a handful of these. I would probably never use them in an install. I like my high efficient small footprint amps.

I buy my PET here. I buy my Techflex from parts-express on sale. They have PET from 3/32" up to 2 3/4". You can buy it by the foot.

1,000w build
Thanks, I appreciate it. I mostly listen to tracks created by the original artists. I do have a collection of remixed tracks but I do not listen to them often.

1,000w build
Thanks. I love small details. Thanks bro. Nothing crazy this time around. Next year.....I have some boxes in the basement Thanks man. Overall the system sounds surprisingly very very good. Everybody that listens has a big grin on there face and says "Can you make my car sound this good" The soundstage is decent considering I have no time alignment or crazy EQ and that the path lengths are feet apart for every speaker. Imaging is ehh ok on most songs. The frequency response is really flat though. Not too many peaks and dips.

I still have a couple more pics to take but we just got dumped with +15" of fuck'n snow. So hopefully tomorrow I can update pics. Yeah I fuck'n hate snow. But it makes for nice pictures. This little lady was right outside my front door

Stock sail panels 6.5's mounted with dual 0.75" mounting rings My MDF mounting rings are mechanically fastened to the stock metal door skin. I also used sound deadening material around the rings. I like to think it helps to stop rattles. I had to buy new door panels because I hacked up the originals from my previous install.

1,000w build
I had started a big build last year that I had to end before it was finished. I did not have time to do all of the fiberglassing that I had planned, that's life. I had to have something installed in my car that wasn't going to take years to complete Next year I will be doing an extensive over haul of the current setup. I plan on having more time then, I hope. Some of these pics are from the previous build which I am still using part of. I have more pics to take but this is a start. Current install: HU: Kenwood something of another Front stage: DEI Viper 650.2 Rear fill: Stock Four channel amp: JL Audio XD400/4 Subwoofer: JL Audio 13W6 Subwoofer amp: JL Audio XD600/1 Synthesizer: ZED RA D3400 and 1/0 HPM

JBL GTI15 MKIIs
Are you using them sealed in 1.5^3ft each? I am very anxious to hear your thoughts.

'80 Corvette Install
There are a lot of limitations in this build that will inhibit a proper install. I do like low budget builds though. The stock dash locations may not be so bad. If you can convince the owner to allow small pods mounted nearly on-axis for Fountek FR89EX. I think they could cover the front stage decently. I think the a single Sundown E8 would cover the substage effectively. I would use a JL Audio XD500/3 amplifier. That gives you two channels for the front stage and one channel for the substage. The amplifier is very small. I have two of the XD (600/1 and 400/4) amps in my car now mounted under the driver and passenger seat. They are great amps. You might have to cross the E8 much higher than normal. I doubt you would get much midbass out of the FR89EX's. Small simple three speaker setup

Sub Choice?
There would have been a HUGE difference in output from 35hz to 80hz. Some songs at higher bass frequencies like 45-60hz ouput was heard then a bass note would play at 35hz and would be four times louder if not more. The W6 in comparison is very flat spl wise.

Sub Choice?
I had the XCON mounted in a 4.0^3ft enclosure tuned to 32hz with lots of port area. This is SSA's optimal enclosure size for this diver iirc. I was using a Crescendo 3kwp with the gains adjusted to approx 1800wrms. I later set the the gain to 2250wrms. I think of midbass frequencies being ~100hz to ~300hz. I had the XCON low passed at 60hz with ssf at 25hz. With that setup the XCON was very peaky. Noticable peaks between 35-40hz. Before 35 and after 40 it definitely dropped off considerably. All my sound measurements are done by ear. Meter would probably agree I did not feel that the sub bass system was efficient either. Next year, when I have more time, I will be redoing my install. I have all the components just no time. I plan on revisiting the XCON but in a sealed enclosure this time around. I will be powering it with a DC 2.0K. I am anxious to hear it. What I liked most about the XCON was it's ability to get loud without adding noticable distortion. Like I said it moves a lot of air too Hopefully a sealed system will smooth out those nasty peaks. This is my opinion. Gather opinions from other people as well.

alt size question
I recommend Mechman as well.

is it bad to underpower mids and highs?
I always "under power" my mids, highs and sub. Rarely is it at MAX volume.

is it bad to underpower mids and highs?
A wall socket is best

alt size question
100amp alt per 1000wrms "generally"

Sub Choice?
There is way more to a SQ setup than the sub. I think you know that. Install is of upmost importance. A great sub that is not integrated with a well installed and tuned front stage will not sound it's best. Really focus on your front stage install and do the best you can with the money and time that you have for it. I have owned both a 15" XCON and 13W6. By design, the 15" XCON has more cone area and will handle three times more wrms than the 13W6. IMO the 13W6 sounds better than the XCON. The XCON is louder and it's a really brutal driver; it moves a lot of air. Something that I love about the W6 is that at very low volume I have noticeable bass, XCON didnt come alive until 3/4 to max volume. In my current install I have my 13W6 low passed at 80hz @12db. That is higher than a normally cross at but due to midbass driver limitations 80hz sounds best. I am using a JL XD600/1 amp. Enclosure size is 2.1^3ft tuned to 31hz. As much as I hate to go grocery shopping I have plenty of room in my trunk(I drive a small Hyundai) for $150 in groceries.

Please Be Aware People
Thanks for showing interest, ummm, well to some it up, the tid bit information that I posted is about three things. The whole vacillation thing that is spreading like wildfire, the government is started or may have already, making it law for your children to get a vaccine(s), not sure which ones exactly, but they are contaminated. There are many research studies that back this up. Second is the whole intelliStreets situation. Basically, like in that movie, I think Resident Evil, where the man has her go look for his daughter, and he was able to hack the government security system and was able to track her last known location by using the cameras installed across the city. Its the same thing here, The new IntelliStreets will allow for all of this to happen, and it will, just a matter of time. The last thing is about how our monetary system is a failure. Its speaks about how we, (US), borrows money from a Private bank at an interest rate where the private bank literally makes money out of thin air. This will soon be the World Bank. There is a TON more information that can be found. My main two sources is just Alex Jones and The Zeitgeist Movement. I HIGHLY recommend watching all of the Zeitgeist movies. They will explain how we, (US), use three or four main tactics to get what we want from other nations. Not exact, but something along these lines: 1st try) Bribe their leader 2nd try) Corrupt the citizens 3rd try) Assassinate leader 4th try) Military Ton of facts and documents to back this up. My daughter has to get mandatory vaccines for school. Never thought any harm about it. Most big towns in my area have street cameras. Never thought any harm about it. Yes the US is going to shit for many reasons. One World money and leader is on it's way. Don't get this confused. It is all written in the Bible.

Front stage options/Ideas
Do you already have kicks built? You best option is to run a component set in the kicks. Even if you run them passive they will sound better than in the door for a few reasons. If you want to door mount them, so be it. IMO the best door mount options are to have the tweeter up high and off axis. Imaging will not be nearly as good as kick mounted drivers but it will sound ok. Your soundstage will be decent for the higher frequencies but you will be able to locate your mid for those frequencies being played. It really comes down to install. A 3-way door mount install will be just as complicated if not more involved than a 2-way kick install and will probably not image nearly as good as a 2-way kick install. So my vote: spend the time to get the install right! Kick mount a component set, run them passive if you like for an even simpler install. If you are used to listening to door mounted drivers I think you will be amazed at your first kick install.

Anyone familiar with Axiom for HT
Wow HT is nuts. Much more involved than what I have time for. Very informative thread. Good luck Lance.
