  1. Good sleuthing Sir-Lancelot
  2. Or just don't use the crap called "Bondo" Lol. I used a local store "Colours" brand of filler. It works great, super easy to sand. I also have some USC Icing for smaller areas.
  3. Ah... I see I have been using my 5" orbital sander from Harbor Freight and my 4 1/2" Metabo grinder. So far they do the job for me. Thanks again
  4. Sounds good. Thanks for checking in! I really appreciate your input The midbass drivers I have are designed for home audio applications and intended to be used in bass reflex enclosures. Hopefully they sound amazing in my setup. Thanks for your advice! I will post a review in the Zed subforum. Out of the box the unit looks nice. But.... 1. The housing itself is not square (not square shapped but dimensionally square). Not a big issue that just surprises me. 2. A section in the range of adjustment is binding on just about all of the potentiometers. Hopefully this does not affect potentiometer performance. 3. The potentiometers are not centered in their openings on the faceplate. The "issues" I mentioned should not be a defect that inhibits performance. I have always read of excellent ZED quality but I see appearance flaws with the RA.
  5. Thanks for the tip. How well does modeling clay stick to the insides of a fiberglassed enclosure? I have a feeling my pod will be too large volume wise...
  6. Thank you for asking I sold my DSLR last week and my new camera is on back order As of right now I didnt take recent pics of the pod since I am cameraless I hate cell phone pics I did do some 'glassing on the outside of the pod (2-3 layers) along with some trimming and sanding. I have 95% of the shape complete. I just have to go through and sand down high spots and fill in low spots. After the pod is complete dimension wise I am going to lay down some DamplifierPro on the inside and fill with a medium to get a volume measurement. Then starts the vinyl. I will take some crappy cell phone pics tonight Hopefully the passenger side pod goes much faster!! Next up kicks I did take some crappy cell phone pics of my Zed RA that was delivered last week Sorry for the chitty pics!!!
  7. Wow there are some fast cars! Makes me wish I was rich!! Good job on the pics and thanks for sharing
  8. No progress on wiring yet. Was out of town this last week and Grasshopper and I were not able to get together on this project. Hopfully this week we can make something happen. Lots of 15s or 12s??? Sounds like FUN!!!! Next year's build. Aren't you doing a walled Rodeo?
  9. Are the woofers wired up? How do those DCON's sound? I am buying a winter vehicle, a two door Tahoe. I am going to concave wall it just for the hecks of it I am going to need lots of 15's or 12's Gotta finish the Hyundai first though.
  10. Hope this build takes a turn for the better
  11. I am anxious to hear your review on the SA-8. Box is looking good

Nice bro. I love the front end
  13. THANK YOU.... i was blown away by how many people SPOKE before they even asked a SINGLE QUESTIONS that MATTERS> my lord... im seeing more and more people are getting away from the TRUTH on this site. What is the TRUTH?
  14. Nice ride! Good job with everything. What's next?
  15. You are going to need substantial electrical upgrades to run either a 2500D or 3500D at 0.5 ohm. Atleast a +250amp alternator, dual 1/0 runs front to rear and multiple batteries near the amplifer. 0.5 ohm draws alot of current and amperage. I am sure you know 0.5 ohm isnt SQ worthy
  16. Wow alot of bad information in this thread! You are experiencing cancellation from frequencies going into the trunk and coming back into the cabin. Forward firing your subs is a great orientation but you HAVE to seal off your trunk. Expanding foam works great for this. It is messy so use caution when applying it. Forward firing woofers may not as loud as rear firing. Iirc the wavelength is longer when bounced through the trunk and therefore sounds better. The peak frequency in your car will definitely be diferent. Simply by moving your forward firing enclosure farther back into the trunk will help lower the peak frequency but eats up your trunk. Forward firing back in trunk (SPL comp car) Click these links for more information Part 1, Part 2
  17. Thanks for sharing the direction that Sundown's woofer production will be headed! I am always looking for a lightweight high output driver that has excellent sound reproduction. The more you raise the bar in this aspect the more interest you have from me. Maybe your upcoming neo line will fit into this category. This is unrelated to woofer production but...... I would also love to see high ouput Sundown amplifiers with a smaller footprint. Size comparable to JL Audio XD or HD but +2000wrms.
  18. Glad to hear you got your setup dialed in. Voltage issues are a pita. I have to tell myself to stop watching the volt meter and keep my eyes on the road lol.
  19. This is definitely my favorite build log I truly appreciate all of your craftsmanship. The alternator setup is just pure sex. I absolutley love it! Your battery rack is excellent! Congrats man. I strive to do similar workmanship as you. I didn't see your custom RCA cables, what page of your build log are they on? I am sure they are great. Looks like coax, RG6? Does your 1000c4 have a turn-on pop? Your charge wire fuses under the hood and the fuses under the body of your truck appear to be difficult to access. Can they be changed quickly? Excellent job on this, I cant say that enough. Wow.
  20. Even better! 15's
  21. Looks like four 18's in a Geo gets loud
  22. Put a decent front stage setup in it and it will pound and sound great
  23. 12's doing work for sure!
