  1. A. It would be louder
  2. Since it isn't completed I have not measured it. I am building for 14-20L.
  3. Definitely what I want. I need to take a few days off work to finish this
  4. Makes sense to me
  5. I pulled off my first attempt, which was a total fail. I decided that I am not going to use an insert piece. I really want a nice smooth look to the pod. What I learned : 1. Do not use two way fabric It is just too damn stretchy. Somebody may have success with it but I can guarantee it isn't going to be easy. 2. Fabric has got to be as tight as possible. Stretch the snot out of it and then some more. I laid the fabric so the stretchy side was running top to bottom. I stapled the ends (left and right) to my makeshift plywood work table. This would help assure it is tight. I started in the center and worked my way outward on a radial direction. The entire piece to a good bit of a hour to wrap. Next up : 2-3 layers of glass on the inside and one layer on the outside. Couple more things I learned. A couple areas around the edge of my mold were not smooth (If measured with a straight edge). So when I was wrapping the fabric along the edge it formed slight imperfections. These imperfections will add time to smoothing the contour of the pod that I could have done a lot faster with resin or 'glass before I wrapped the pod.
  6. Wow that really looks great!!!!!!!! Why did you choose MBQuart amps? Just wondering.
  7. Agree, four SA-12's will be hard to beat for a daily setup.
  8. I love the dash. Where does the audio signal from the tablet go to to get the appropriate RCA connections?
  9. Looks great broham. I would tint the rear window, are you?
  10. Enclosure and amp rack are looking very nice.
  11. Dont jinx me it isn't completed As soon as I get home from vacation it is gonna happen! No doubt man. Hopefully I can save somebody some time by learning from my experience. I am anxious to see if it is better! It feels less stretchy than the other fabric I bought a little thicker too.
  12. Amp looks decently efficient!
  13. I have determined where my errors are in enclosing this fiberglass pod. 1. Material is too stretchy. 2. Material was not tight enough. 3. The span of unsupported area is too large for thin fabric to cover. I bought ponte fabric which is a one way fabric and is slightly thicker than the original fabric I bought. I am going to do a better job tightening the fabric across the mold. I am going to build some type of insert support. Wish me good luck!
  14. Nice build man. You have taken some critical comments and responded respectfully, props. Learn as you go, that's what I do
  15. Interior is very clean! Is that all new fabric? Nice start on the box, what are the specs? Those Jasper jigs are great tools!
  16. That is exactly why I am building this system the way I am. My drive to work is 50 minutes one way! No way could I do that without a good sounding audio sysyem!
  17. Great, thanks! Ugh yeah it is alot of work. From what I hear it doesnt stop either. I am anxious to get my car audio setup completed and have been putting off home projects. But like I was told, I have the rest of my life to work on this house and luckily nothing needs done immediately. I love being a home owner
  18. Sweetness, I will keep that in mind. Electrical isnt hard. Good luck and enjoy your hot tub! I am dying to get more tats too bad you are so fast from me!
  19. I bought Evercoat finishing resin because that is the only resin my local paint store sells. Next time I will buy some better USC stuff. I mix the hardener based on the chat on the resin container. For the ambient temperature at my house it comes out to 12 drops per ounce. My first batch of resin was a compete failure on my part The resin on my fabric is hard but the fabric is not stiff. I believe that the fabric is a polyester/nylon mix and maybe the resin broke it down. Also the fabric may just be too thin. Thank you for your advice!!!
  20. Yeah phuck man! I do not know why I am having such a hard time with this! Finally got the resin mixture down and now this. I must have bought the wrong material ftl. I will pick up some fleece. I am getting frustrated with this but I am determined to complete it properly. My father in law is a master electrician. He "guides" me through electrical work in the house.
  21. Thanks. It was definitely tight. It is very possible that that is what I bought. I am using epoxy resin. Is this an issue? I used 4 ounces of resin and 48 drops of hardener.
  22. Unfortunately I will be redoing this step as well The material I bought is way too stretchy and actually loosened up (not at the glue joints, the material itself stretched!!!) after I applied the resin. I mixed the resin correctly and the material is not as hard as it should be I hate redo!!!! Ugh looks like a will try a t-shirt this time, fleece is way to thick but maybe that is best.
  23. Shell is out and trimmed Baffle is in place. I 'glassed the dow rods in place. I choose a two way fabric. I am doubting it... Fabric is resin'd. Till next time...
