Ohh I didnt realize that was the case. I thought that gauge size was based upon diameter of the cable. I guess the fact that the cable is pure copper allows them to reduce the size? Thanks for the help!

Just recently ordered 25 ft of 1/0 gauge from weldingsupply.com for what I thought was a good price. I just received the cable yesterday and Im slightly disappointed because its deffinitely on the skimpy side. Anyone have any experience with weldingsupply? Im just looking to see if you guys were satisfied with your order.

Like i previously stated, I was thinkin about buying an additional batt to help out my electrical. However, Im having some trouble deciding what battery I need. Im going to be running a hifonics bxi1608d, 1600w at 1 ohm. On XS' site they describe their batteries as being able to provide "up to" a certain amount of watts. For example, the d975 can provide up to 1000w as a primary batt and 2000w as a secondary batt. So, is there any measurement to determine how many watts the batt will regularly put out or is it all dependent upon the alternator? and would you guys think that the d975 would be a large enough secondary batt to make a significant difference in my electrical? Unfortunately, I do not have to much money to spend on batteries so I was hoping to get away with spending the least amount of money possible. Thanks for the helpp

I agree! I bought the HU during the 249 deal as well. The HU is great overall. However, the only thing i dislike is how long the HU takes to load an album. Up to 15 seconds sometimes! But, other than that, the HU is an unbelievable deal and I would recommend it to anybody looking for a reliable double din for a great price.

Ina feww days im gonna be setting wiring up a hifonics bxi1608d so about 1600w at 1 ohm and I was hoping i could get away with just setting up the big 3 but after some more research idk if its ognna be possible. So my question is, will my stock 100 amp alternator be able to satisfy my stock batt( die hard 700 cca) along with an xs power d1200?

What is the benefit of buying a battery like xs over a standard car battery such as a diehard. May be a stupid question but i dont know much about elctrical so thanks to anyone who can help me out.

Many people on the forum seem to trust audiopipe amps. So, for the extra few bucks, you should invest in a safer bet. Also, if your budget is truly an issue, you should build the box yourself rather than have an audio shop build it for you. Some shops will charge you upwards of 100 bucks for a box. Save your money and look for somebody here on the forum who can set you up with a solid design for much less money.

I just recently purchased a hifonics bxi1608d. It has 4 gauge terminals and is going to be pushing about 1600 watts. I am not sure if 4 gauge is large enough for the 1600 watts but, on the other hand, I am not sure if I would be able to squeeze the 2 gauge into the 4 gauge terminals. Any suggestions?

Well according to the recommendation you should have between 1 and 1.5 cubes if youre goal is spl. As far as I know, when a recommendation specifies spl, it is referring to a one note burp. Since this is not what youre looking for, I think you should go sealed and see what you think (given that you could always build another box). Unfortunately, if the subs are in a ported box that is too small you will lose efficiency and low end output.

Interestingg haha I wouldve never thought that clipped signals reduce the cooling of adriver. Well, I guess you learn soemthing new everyday. Thanks for the help

It seems like youre not acknowledging all the guys telling you to try and seal off your box before you buy new subs. I understand the desire to always have more subs but, before you spend your money, you should really give this a shot.

yeaa my faultt typo. But yea i guess you could pick up an xcon new for just about 380. You never hear anything but good about the xcons so it probably is your best bet if you want a single 15.

A driver that will be a solid partner for your saz-1200d is going to probably cost you over 400 dollars. Therefore, you are going to need to buy used so search the classifieds for btls, Xcons, and similar drivers like notorious stated earlier.If you do not want to buy used then you may want to pick up two twelves, maybe a couple SSDs with bp power option.

Before you purchase take a look at Re Sl 10 or 12. The 10" mounting depth is 3" and the 12" is 3.5". If it were me I would go with Re drivers over fosgate drivers any day. Scroll down the sl series
