  1. booms as in boomers? or... i vote you have everything bolted in with as many as feasible that way it will deter them just because it would take to long.
  2. Cassiopeia by Nuphlo is a good bass scare cuz the drop comes out of nowhere.
  3. If you're looking for bass why not go straight to dubstep? lol Basscannon by Flux Pavilion, Cloud low by feed me and Ludacris is pretty epic too.
  4. So what sort of driver should I pick for these then? Three-way would be fine. I would just need to do more work with crossovers. What would be an ideal midbass driver? 8"?
  5. Has anyone on here done anything similar to the setup I just described? I found some really nice Behringer emminence Horns (neodymium) and I wanted to incorperate these bad boys into it. I could power both loudspeakers with an EP4000. and then I would have to have separate amp for the horns. Of course I would have to create some crossovers too. I feel like these would be an amazing build. I really enjoy loud music and I feel like this setup will get me what I want.
  6. I couldnt figure out how to post a picture or even take ap icture but my HTC desire, bone stock on 2.2 ran @ 972 between the samsung galaxy S and the Moto Droid X *EDIT* I redid the benchmark because I was updating apps and didn't realize it in time to stop the benchmark. Second time around came out to 1084
  7. I'll check it out when I get home. I love dubstep
  8. explain your reasoning, Yes I plan on doing a full deadening from SDS. I emailed don all my specs he just has to send me a quote of what to buy.
  9. point taken, I'll look into one. Thanks a bunch man!
  10. I like the idea of the X7, with it being a traditional hard drive and larger screen. The little reading I have done on the D3 says the software is still buggy and freezes up a lot. :/ Do you know much about the X 7? And If I was to get one of these I would plug it in via auxillary cable correct? No audio quality will be lost then?
  11. Which one do you have? I can't belive I have never heard of these. This is crazy. Thanks a bunch!
  12. Hey all, I have done some research and could only find one head unit that would run .FLAC files or any lossless audio codec. And this head unit was super expensive and hard to find. Does anyone know a good way around this like a media player that can play them and will hook up to the head unit? Would auxillary cables degrade the quality aspect of FLAC making it pointless to try playing them on a MP3 player of some sort? Thanks guys.
  13. Thanks for the fast replies. Bracing will be needed I guess so thanks for that one, saves me a large mistake of having my sub tear apart my box when I install it haha. If I do run two batteries would it be alright to run an AGM (XS power) and a wet cell (my current duralast?) together? or should I save and get two batteries? A big one for up front and a smaller one for in back? (that will be expensive and delay the install but I want it done right). I also emailed Don and sent him all my measurements so hopefully he will get back to me soon about that. I still need to pick out a head unit too. Anyone have one laying around that they would reccomend? or just one to reccomend in general. So far most of my info has come from my uncle who says pioneer is always a failsafe but he didn't really specify which models. I would really like to run an impressive front stage that can keep up with my Xcon and I was wondering if yall could help me choose or point me in the direction of what drivers and headunit to run for it all. I would really like the ability to play FLAC files but I have not read of any head units that can. Thanks again for all the support guys (and gals?)
  14. Hey everyone, I have changed my mind many times about my build that I will be doing in the future. I think I have finally decided for sure on what sub and amp I am going to run. My choice being a single 12" Xcon in a enclosure that seals off the trunk with the sub firing into the cabin. It will be powered by the new Megalith Zed Monoblock. My question is... Should I worry about much reinforcement in my enclosure with only a single 12" thats a lot of power compared to most retail subs that I have worked with in the past. Also, I want to run a ported enclosure, what would the optimal tuning be for electronica music? 32hz? 34hz maybe? Also if I'm running this Should I get a second battery to run with my standard one or should I just get the biggest single battery I can fit (XS power of course) in the stock location? Thanks for your time guys! This website is great, has taught me many things that will make my install get done the right way the first time hopefully
  15. Note taken, will take a look when I get the chance.
  16. I'm going to go with the Bravox 3 way components most likely, I will probably try to Active run it. However I will have the passive to fall back on if I become to frustrated, as this is my first audio build on my own car. Plus the car isn't worth too much so I don't want to go all out on my first project.
  17. Do you have proof? I'm not just going to jump bandwagon like everybody else in the world.
  18. Note taken, Thanks again for all the help. Sorry for the confusion. I have been looking at sundown amps again and now I realized why I was leaning towards the AQ amps. Would anybody here have experience with the 4.90 and or the 1200D from AudioQue? They are just much cheaper and they seem well made. I feel like the extra cost on Sundown amps is because of the Sundown Name.
  19. I really should learn what I'm talking about before I start throwing out words. I though Active setup was having a component set with crossovers in them but when I just looked it up now it says that having the crossovers between the amp and the driver is passive. So active if I am correct is having using the crossovers built into the amp? Or is it putting crossovers on the signal sent to the amp?
  20. I definitely am very interested in these however with my current situation I won't have enough money flow untill the 16th of February. Is there still any hope for me?
  21. Thanks for the tips guys, To answer your question I have no previous experience with active setups but I feel like I can learn things fast enough to jump the curve if you catch my drift. I really like the Idea of those the Bravox Carbon fiber 3 way setup. Would I still be able to run my original setup of amplifiers with the 4 channel and the two channel or would I have to get three amps to power my front stage. I'll have to take a bunch of pictures tomorrow and post them up so that I can show you what I'm working with. I really appreciate all the help guys. As for mounting positions I was hoping to fab up some glass to mount my tweets in the A-pillars and mount the other two speakers in the either the front doors or one in the front door and one in the rear door on each side of the car. I'm guessing it's best to put both up in the front doors. I'm willing to tear up the entire door panel if I must. I was hoping to mount some sort of mid-woofer back in the C-pillars at a later date because they are really wide and I really like the Idea of customizing this to my fullest ability. Again I have very little experience with this but I feel like I can stick it out.
  22. Hey SSA! New member here with a few questions, hope you can help me out. I will be doing a build log soon on my 1994 Plymouth Acclaim. My plans are to have a single sub firing into the cabin with the trunk sealed off and the port through the rear deck. I know I will be getting a Fi BL but I am not positive on what size I will be able to fit firing forward ( I'll be making measurements tomorrow in shop class). I will power it with a Sundown 1500SAZ. Then for my active setup I want to run all identical amps so I will run a 100.4 (SUNDOWN) for my midrange and tweets and a 125.2 (SUNDOWN) for my midbass drivers. I know for sure that I want AA carbon fiber 7" for my midbass I just need some advice on what to do for my midrange (cone size, brand) and my tweets(brand). I wish AA made a component set, maybe they do and I just can't find it. Thanks guys (and gals?)
