SAE-1000D Questions
Thanks for the input Trying to get a feel for what people want... Who thinks it would be a good idea to keep the 1000D around and change the name to "SAE-800Ds" or something? So, if someone so desired they could pay extra for the small size ? PS: Just clamped the prototype on music at 1 ohm nominal / 2 ohms actual... 800 watts continuous.

SAE-1000D Questions
I have a replacement candidate for the SAE-1000D... same build house as the upcoming SAE-1200D model. I would call this the SAE-800D model. Here is the question... how many people buy the SAE-1000D for the small form factor? The current SAE-800D prototype is the same size as the SAE-1200D (as big as the SAZ-1500D). It would cost less than the current SAE-1000D but is substantially bigger - it's just not as compact of a PCB design. The benefit is that it has an even beefier design so all the components are even less taxed than the already super reliable SAE-1000D. The new build house doesn't like the idea of making a small form factor amp - it is not something they are used to doing, so it would greatly speed up the release of the less expensive SAE-800D model if I made it large.

Should sound pretty good - won't need much power IB either.

1) No harm at all. 2) Around 320-350 watts for a set of channels bridged.

E8 Pre-Order / Intro Sale
As a subwoofer you generally do not want anything over 80 Hz coming from them, so no, there is no reason to cross them above 200 Hz when used as subwoofers.

Future Amplifiers
loudcav is right, the 250.2 has been delayed substantially. The SAE-1200D is in production - I estimate around 2 months for availability.

The 800D is still in development, so no information is available at this time. The 1200D is about the same size as the 1500D.

I got my second 3000D!!!!
Looking good!

Talk about 5k amp List Here
I'm considering it for 2009. If I enter the > 3000 watt category I'd really want to do something a bit different, I am investigating options.

Bigger Sub ?
I hope to have the first prototype motor within a month Thing is going to be HEAVY... I predict ~80-90 pounds for the motor.

They are in Charlotte - just waiting on them to clear and make their way here.

Nightshade owners
They don't need that much power, hence the 1500-watt rating. Two would work quite well on 2500-watts. The "stock" Nightshade suspension is not as tight as many other "super SPL" - but this is beneficial for most people since it doesn't *need* as much power to get moving for those that don't run 2000+ watts to their drivers. Believe me, they are loud without 2500 watts each - I have a customer doing 150.3 on music with two on an SAZ-3000D (1500 each).

12" Sundown Nightshade Special
Nope. These are the normal 12" Nightshades. B-Stock ones have a machining issue on the back plate - purely cosmetic.

Bigger Sub ?
You wouldn't be able to mount them normally or play music on them, still interested Spiders are so wide that the travel for the cone would be severely limited and the magnet OD = the basket OD = you can't put it in the hole.

3kw @ 26hz = Bad Idea =(
We tuned my friends box to around 25 Hz for such things - nothing he likes more than the low-low stuff (the Bronco with the three 15s).

3kw @ 26hz = Bad Idea =(
No, there is plenty of room with the 75mm tall magnet stack.

Should be. What is your box like ? Well that song was played in my buddies box, 2.75cubes @ 29hz. My box is 4.5 cubes @ 31hz. I probally wouldn't of attempted it in my box, but I still got that 6th order I need to build =D Indeed - in the small box the re-coned driver shouldn't have an issues at all. The larger box I might question, I'll be able to tell you in more detail after I've done more research and testing with the longer coil - standard stuff before changing anything permanently in the line.

Also... with just the longer coil it'll be almost impossible to get the coil out of the gap with 3 spiders even with a bunch of power Thats *alot* of extra length.

Have had a small amount - all of them having went in the same manner by over-excursion. Will future ones have the longer coil and extra spider? Or maybe an option for ordering? Longer coil will become standard in the future. Even though @ 1500 watts the current coil is MORE than adequate. As Chad demonstrated in his testing he was even able to do long burps @ 4500 watts with the current coil at box tuning - so it really does take alot to exceed the limits of the current design. Running at the rated 1500-watts the current spider setup is best - only those who want to exceed that need the extra spider(s). It would hurt performance for the average customer buying these to run them on a 1500D to make a 4th spider standard.
