  1. I'll get Justin to put on my 50 lb weight vest and try it again That'll be 400 pounds!
  2. Welcome to the forum!
  3. I love dead lifts I'm out of shape at the moment... so I can only do a few reps at 405 these days. Back when I worked out consistently it was 500+ for reps. Totally agree, the dead lift is the most useful exercise there is for practical strength.
  4. Sealed is more than enough to play down to 80 Hz.
  5. I think it'll be very impressive with more power and more SPL oriented drivers. Stay tuned!
  6. Maybe the "smacking" sound of voice coil mis-alignment added dBs? *laughs*
  7. *laughs* Justin thought he would break the cone, I said I didn't think so! I guess I was right this time
  8. *laughs* You nailed it, that is when this part of the building was constructed.
  9. PS: I stood on a Konaki cone in the same manner (surround cut off, on the VC former) and it folded instantly. I'm about 175 pounds
  10. Since we tore up the Nightshade proto I decided to have some fun showing off how strong the cone is. I cut the surround off so it would sit flat on the ground and had Justin (local sales rep) stand on the back of the voice coil: Just sits at around 350 pounds Neither the cone or the triple joint glue failed and he bounced up and down a bit while he was on there.
  11. *laughs* I was worried for a second reading the title!
  12. The SD-1 v.2 is an excellent choice for a good, clean, "low" powered system. They sound fantastic.
  13. The TC-9 is a pretty solid and proven motor -- with good parts it can make a great speaker. Just about any coil fits in the gap as well, it has a great deal of flexibility as the gap is pretty wide.
  14. Unfortunately, there is not. The 3000D model really needs it least of all, they are the coolest running amp in the line -- just so happens I made the heatsink tool at the same time I was ready for a run of 3000Ds
  15. Brian, If you want to sell custom skins for Sundown amps that is fine with me. I'm not sure what is involved or if you could sell them effectively to the end user... but maybe you could sell the service of making and applying it to amps people send in?
  16. I have plans for SAE multi-channels... a 50-75x2 and a 50x4 model will be offered -- but I do not have a good ETA on them.
  17. i can dig that. i have been going through the same thing with some (non-audio) products i am developing. how about a pre-sale? i'm in for 2. There will be a pre-sale, I just need more time to gather capital for the 250.2 model.
  18. Very glad to hear that you are pleased The TC-3000 is a mean woofer as well!
  19. They are 76.2mm coils formers... the ones I have are anyway. Gotta be careful... I wasted a good re-cone because of that! On that note... if you want to make it into a 15" I have three Sig 15" re-cones.
  20. I had thought about it. Likely I won't take it away entirely since some customers actually want it, but in the future I'm going to reduce the amount of boost it is capable of.
  21. Thanks for the feedback on the SD-1 v.2s Glad you enjoy them!
