Sundown Sub + Amp SQ deal
The early adopters of the SD-1 subs are very pleased: http://www.titantalk.com/forums/titan-visu...ghlight=sundown Page Three: "Thanx to james i will run what ever i can Sundown in my truck when i previously was a Diamond Audio freak and thought that their speakers were good. I prefer the sound from the SD-1s than i do my Moms (my old) CM312d4s granted the diamonds are 12s and the sundown at 10s but no matter what i have thrown at them they take it with no problem, from korn, jay z, nelly, journey, door, rolling stones, to 50s music. they are just CLEAN CLEAN AND MORE CLEAN" James is one of my dealers who does alot of custom enclosures for Nissan Titans, if you were wondering who he is The package deal is a GREAT offer. If you port the SD-1 then they really get down on 200 watts each!

3000d ???
Hmmm... that is an interesting one, other drop-ins have produced similar scores. well i might be choking the amp! so more wire and buss bar's in the back is the next thing. then i think when i get the other 3000 i'm going to do a false floor with the 3000's under glass. did you get my PM jacob? Yep, I got it. I'll let you know when I receive the package. Could be choking the amp... at 0.35 ohms it'll draw hella current.

Power output of the Multi channel amps
The SAX-100.4 is good for around ~110 per channel and the SAX-100.2 for around ~125 per channel by design. They are both underrated correspondingly. Dynamic power is substantially higher than rated as anyone who has heard one can attest I had a dealer in California compare the SAX-100.4 very favorably to his Audison amps, which is a brand that he carries and sells -- he tested an SAX-100.4 head to head just out of curiosity "After setting gains and level matching both amps, I started out with some fav's... Eagles hotel california live on dvd audio, My first impressions were that I was not listening to an amp that retail for less than 500.00. All of the crossovers were doing their job superbly, all cut points were fairly accurate, all power and input sections were noise free. Music reproduction was clean and warm, but not quite as rich as I am used to with my audison's and tubes. All in all it is a great piece of equipment if you are looking to buy a 4-ch amp in the 500.00 price range." and "Well I own a retail shop that sells other high-end equipment, and thought I'd give sundown an honest heads up test against some Audison amps. I did it because I was interested in what his amps were all about, and he did it because he wanted the evaluation. I think the tests went great and another thing, the amps pricing is spot on with its performance. Hell I was on another site and heard people talking about how "pricey" sundown is.. and I just had to jump in there and say I think they are right were they need to be with their retail prices. I will say that I have yet to test any other amplifier that is of the china/usa builds that sounds as good as this little sundown."

BL 10" got warm this morning
A coil will get warm enough to blister you with a few hundred watts. Find a sub where you can touch the coil and try it if you don't believe me Ever touch a 100-watt bulb? And that is through two excellent insulators (glass and air). It'll be alright if you aren't smelling it as Nick said.

Sundown Logo
I recently started including small stickers with the amps, but may have missed one. Send me your shipping address to [email protected] and I'll send you a windshield banner.

sundown ftw
I like alot of 8 ohms drivers No reason to rate a car amp for 8 ohms, though, as most "general public" people would shy away since "less ohms are better." Didn't you get the memo *laughs*

Will this hurt a class d amp?
No problem... at least not on the 1500Ds... I have them idling quite often with no load.

Customer Service
Thanks Ray I am "open for business" unofficially most of the time as audio isn't just my business, it's something I like to do. If I can get to the phone I usually answer just about any time!

I'd like to do an uber-quality line... truth is, people already think all of my prices are too high when they are substanially lower than competitive gear from name brands. It'll take some time to be able to offer something like that... if I did I would probably build it in the USA and it would cost at least twice the SAZ and SAX amp prices. Keep in mind I'd have to sell enough for the line to make financial sense The SAE-50.4 is about the point where the decrease in build cost compared to the SAX-100.4 causes it to make sense. An SAX-150.4 is a possibility, but not extremely soon.

sundown ftw
I am working on an SAE-50.4 and an SAX-250.2 for release sometime next year. The 50.4 may be sooner as it is a much higher demand piece. I have had protos for both... not sure that I am totally happy with either, so there will be revision before either is ready. A 6-channel is planned with no information on release time frame at all right now. I am thinking something like 75 x 4 and 125 x 2 for that one so you can bridge the "big" channels for a sub. If things go very well MAYBE towards the end of next year. As for a 6kw... that will have to wait a while, big amps like that are very costly and aren't big sellers. Not a good combo for a new company if you ask me. VERY few people even have electrical systems to support the SAZ-3000D properly. I've got a few sub lines I would like to build in between all this too... sorry, no information at this time. The current SD-1 is actually doing quite well and has suprised a few people

Look what showed up at my door today
As far off as 2009 - 2010 it may be possible, but not much before then. Good idea on the warranty, although, that may scare away anyone other than SPL comp guys

Look what showed up at my door today
It would require a specially tooled extra height heatsink, but there is no reason why it couldn't be done. than market it as a bridgeable sundown saz-6000d. LOL that would be one killer amp in the lanes for street competitors limited to one battery and car off. A pair of saz-6000d's (note that this is not representitive of an actual sundown product, more of a wish). Jake, Could this be made to be strappable? An already internally strapped amplifier could not be made strappable without making further modifications to the current design. If you were to do so the end result amplifier would work at a 4 ohm load to achieve 1 ohm per amplifier, or a 2 ohm load for 1/2 ohm per amplifier since these are "series strapped" amps. That is NOT something I would want to build. Having one fry would be a nightmare warranty wise... thats a VERY expensive paper-weight I am going to think long and hard before making anything over an SAZ-3000D. A larger amp that that is going to have a high failure rate when people put them on lacking electrical systems... I honestly think that is why HiFonics has such a problem with the Goliath amps failing.
