  1. If Nick and myself didn't stay out so late chasing hot, foreign women I think we would have been a little less tired for the drive today Definatly a long day. But... it could be worse
  2. No word yet. It's the weekend so I will have to contact UPS on Monday, I'll let you know. PS: I did not get your pictures e-mail.
  3. Drive wasn't too bad... easier than expected
  4. Excellent job there Brandon. I can always count on you to blow things up the right way
  5. E-Mail Sent.
  6. 10% price drop all around. 1) $27 2) $27 3) $45 / $81 4) $157.50 / $270 Again, prices are shipped to continental 48 states.
  7. Any new from your buddy? *bumps*
  8. Unfortunatly we have had another delay. August 12th is the new ETA for production units to be ready to ship. This is why Sundown Audio has not accepted any pre-orders, we don't want to take orders, give a date, then push it back two or three times while holding the customers money. Hold on another two weeks and the sale should be ready to begin. Any further updates will be posted to this thread as information becomes available.
  9. The 10" BMs are hot... I may have to build a computer sub with one of those bad boys
  10. It's in the works. Expect ~6 months or so. **** As an update to the intro sale thread -- arrival has been pushed to July 29th - August 5th. Only a small delay, but worth mentioning to keep you all updated.
  11. Dave, Thanks for doing the review! I am patiently awaiting your final product Hey Jake, long time no see. Its awesome that you've got this business going. I'm going to be needing some amps soon since I'm thinking about finally putting some sound back into my car. I may just have to give you a call. Good luck! Kevin Kevin, Excellent I hope to hear from you! How have you been, it has been a while since I've heard anything from you.
  12. Dave, Thanks for doing the review! I am patiently awaiting your final product
  13. Indeed, Honda does tend to use smaller electrical system parts compared to something like my vehicle. Of course, the level of dimming is totally dependant on your volume level At a rational volume level, one that won't cause hearing damage, I don't get any dimming whatsoever. I wouldn't imagine that you would have a big problem provided you aren't a total basshead. Your Civic Si will be very loud with little power anyway since it is a hatchback so your current draw will be significantly lower than my car with it's bass eating trunk (seriously, it eats bass for 3 square meals a day). Take Care.
  14. They are not tapped, just smooth holes. Let me know if you are interested in them
  15. 1) E46 BMW Factory Amplifier: $30 shipped in continental USA -- Factory amp taken out of my 2002 325i BMW with standard non-HK system. Works fine but, of course, I put a whole new system in the car. **** 2) BOSS REV-585: $30 shipped in continental USA -- Just like the title says. This amp lacks two set screws so it is only suitable for bridged applications. It features a phase shift (0-180 degrees), selectable HP/LP crossover (80-500 HP, 45-90 LP), and a bass boost (0-18 dB). Chassis states "350 x 2" which is peak 2 ohm stereo... my estimate for real world power output is more like the following: 75 x 2 @ 4 ohms 125 x 2 @ 2 ohms 250 x 1 @ 4 ohms It would be quite suitable as a small subwoofer amplifier. As far as I know it works perfectly, I hooked it up on my test bench and it powered a TB 8" woofer to full excursion without any issues that I could detect. I tested all knobs and switches and everything checks out. Costmetically it has some dings and wear on it, but works fine. **** 3) 2x Soundstream PCA2.130 2-channel amps: $50 each shipped or $90 for the pair shipped to continental USA -- Been trying to sell these for a while, I had some interest but nothing much came up. 40 x 2 @ 4 ohms 60 x 2 @ 2 ohms 120 x 1 @ 4 ohms 40 - 250 Hz selectable HP/LP crossovers **** 4) 2x Unbranded Class-D Amplifiers: $175 each shipped or $300 for the pair shipped to continental USA -- These are identical internally to the Massive Audio Pro Series P1500.1 amplifier. Tested by Serge at K&B Audio to produce: 12.5V 4 Ohm: 388W @ 3% THD, 38A 14.4V 4 Ohm 520W @ 3% THD, 43A 12.5V 2 Ohm: 732W @ 3% THD, 64A 14.4V 2 Ohm 810W @ 3% THD, 75A They didn't like a 1 ohm resistive test load but in my use of them I had no issues running them on a 1 ohm nominal speaker load (Stereo Integrity Mag D2 wired in parallel in a sealed box). Massive Audio claims 1250 RMS for their identical amplifier into 1 ohm (1500 is their peak rating)... I suspect it's more in the area of 1000 RMS. Features include: 20 - 50 Hz Adjustable and selectable subsonic filter 40 - 180 Hz Adjustable low-pass filter Linkable to another unit to strap on a single woofer They have some scuffs and scrapes on them but they look quite good overall. I recommend them for 2 ohm loads more than 1 ohm loads, but again, I had no issues at 1 ohm but this is no guaratee that you will not. **** I will accept payment via Paypal and only by verified Paypal members.
  16. Joe, My car handles it fairly well all things considered. My electrical system is bone stock It is the best stock electrical system that I have experience with. The alternator is fairly beefy (120 amps) and the battery is just plain huge for a vehicle of it's size. I talked to the guys from Ohio Generator at a show up there and asked about a replacement alternator for my car... they actually told me to keep my stock one unless I darn well NEED a larger one. The guy I spoke to said the factory Bosch alternators are great parts.
  17. Lucky for you the SAX-100.4 will be the next product to be released, I expect within 6 months from launch of the SAX-100.2 and SAZ-1500D On that note... what do you guys think about Sundown Audio offering an intro sale on each new amp as it debuts? I may not do it direct like I am for my very first products, but would work with my dealers to set it up.
  18. I am working on the following: 4-Channel for SAX Line (~100 x 4) Larger 2-Channel for SAX Line (~250 x 2) Larger Class-D for SAZ Line (~2500+ watts) Entry Level 4-channel (~50 x 4) Entry Level 2-channel (~75 x 2) Entry Level Class-D (~1000 watts RMS) The SAX and SAZ lines you are familiar with, the looks will remain consistant with them. Although, I am looking into offering a glossy finish as an "upgrade" option later on -- it costs alot more to build, but it looks GREAT (have some protos done this way). The entry level line, the SAE series, has not been finalized cosmetically. Expect them to follow the same cues as the other series, but have a "smaller" look to them. These are still in the works for the most part, so nothing is definitive!
  19. This is still the expected date. Further updates will be posted if there are delays.
  20. It is good for any type of music. It is a speaker designed to reproduce music like it is supposed to sound. If you want to distort it, use an EQ or a processor like BBE or Media Xpander.
  21. Good to see you here Loyd

It is specified to run at 1 ohm daily, and that is the lowest impedance load that will be covered under the 2 year limited warranty. From a design stand-point it should handle itself at 0.5 ohms on a daily basis with ample cooling, but it is not advertised nor guaranteed to do so. Even so... it would be quite difficult to damage the SAZ-1500D as it has an array of protection circuits that will save it most of the time
  23. To me the W7 has a "weird" sound to it. A few years back I had an Adire Brahma 15 setup and it was simple a better sounding woofer compared to any W7 setup I had listened to. The W7 has an odd resonant sound to it making it sound "tubby" to me. Others describe this in different ways, but it never sounded right to my ears (except for Josh99TAs 8" W7, that one sounded great). As for my tastes... I switched out the Brahma for three of the first generation Mag 12s in my old car as I liked the sound of them a bit more than even my Brahma. Since then I down-sized in my new car to a single new generation Mag 12.
  24. Many Stereo Integrity customers run 1500+ watt amplifiers on their Mag 12s and 15s. You just need to be responsible with setting the gains and controlling the volume knob and you will be good to go. The Mag coils are extremely large and are quite durable, but you would have enough power on tap to burn them up if you do not set everything up properly. The SAZ-1500D is a great match for a Mag, in fact, it's what I have in my car -- just be reasonable when setting it up
  25. I do have an entry level mono in the works (a whole entry level series for that matter). It won't be that small but it will be quite affordable. Unfortunatly, I do not have any details about a time frame for this model.
