Intro Sale Information
This is not a pre-sale and Sundown Audio is not accepting money at this time. The SAZ-1500D and SAX-100.2 models are scheduled to be released around the end of July. When they arrive I will notify the board and all SS Audio members are eligable for a special introductory price for a 2 week sale period! The intro sale pricing will be as follows: $450 --> SAZ-1500D $225 --> SAX-100.2 $625 --> SAZ-1500D and SAX-100.2 package (Save $50!) North Carolina residents add 7% sales tax ($481.50, $240.75, $668.75 respectively). Prices include shipping to the continental USA. Stay tuned for the sale to begin. Current estimate for stock is July 25th, but this date is subject to change. **** Once the sale is over that will be the end of direct to customer sales at Sundown Audio. Our online dealers will be taking over from there: http://www.showrides.net/ http://www.audiojunkies.com/ Online dealers are required to advertise full MSRP pricing -- contact them directly for their actual pricing.

Generally a catastrophic failure will be user error. Failures like exploding caps, burnt transistors, things of that nature -- I've seen most of them since I blew up quite a few amps as a newbie and was entirely at fault. If I have any doubt that it was the customers mistake I will err on the side of the customer and simply replace the unit under warranty during the 2 year limited warranty period. I would rather have a happy customer than to save a few dollars on replacing a unit. These amps are built very tough, and 99% of the time the protection circuit will save it before something goes wrong. I am fully confident that very few amplifiers will ever need to be returned.

It would be pretty obvious when the amp was opened up what had happened, and that is not covered by the 2 year limited warranty. It would be covered under the 5 year discounted replacement guarantee, so you would get a new amplifier, but it wouldn't be free. Generally I will prefer to replace the amp with a new unit and repair the damaged unit to sell as refurbished, in order to ensure the amp has been repaired fully and thoroughly tested it could take some time. We want to get the customer a new unit as fast as possible, so generally they won't have to wait on a repair. Be it under the 2 year limited or 5 year discounted replacement warranty. A repair will be preferred if it is something extremely minor like a loose solder joint or some such (which is covered by the limited warranty).

You can find this information under "Products" on the Sundown Audio web site. It reads as follows: "WARRANTY INFORMATION: Your new Sundown Audio amplifier is covered by a 2 year limited warranty if purchased from an authorized Sundown Audio dealer. This warranty does not cover improper installation, accidental damage, misuse, abuse, improper wiring, operation of unit outside of listed specifications, or any product that has been modified or repaired by anyone other than Sundown Audio. Lots of BM's inside
Oh yah! Looking good

6 channel??
Dave, That would be great, if you don't mind

6 channel??
The SAZ-1500D and SAX-100.2 are the two coming late July. The SAX-100.4 is entering the prototype phase shortly and will be the next product to hit the streets, perhaps 6 months from the debut of the SAZ-1500D and SAX-100.2 units if all goes well. Not counting the SAX-100.4 there are 5 other products planned thusfar not mentioned. I'm not going to go into detail but they will include a larger two channel, a larger class D, and an entry level line If all goes as planned I would like Sundown Audio to release one more amp approximately every 6 months.

6 channel??
Ah, perhaps there was confusion from my thread. My setup needs 6 channels of amplification so I currently have a Directed 6500 in the car. The final setup will consist of an SAX-100.4 (when the protos are done) and an SAX-100.2 for a total of 6 channels. I don't have a 6-channel in the plans yet. If such a thing does get made I have 6 other products ahead of it that need to get done first

Welcome to the Forum!!!
I don't know anything about Elevation Audio so I can't say anything for certain, but chances are they have their products built at the same factory. hmmm......... interesting stuff. I never knew that companies had their products built at off-site factories. Yes, this is in fact very common.

The directed is in for the time being, you are correct. It is actually a 6-channel and at the time of the photo was powering the entire system awaiting prototypes of the SAZ-1500D and SAX-100.2 models. Currently I am awaiting the SAX-100.4 protos to get the 6-channels I need up front for my currently fully active setup (it was only partially active at the time of the photo). As of now the Directed is still in along with a proto SAZ-1500D for the Mag since I can't fit nor do I have enough prototype units of the SAX-100.2 to power my front stage with 6 channels. Hope that clears things up for you

Welcome to the Forum!!!
Keep in mind that your switch will introduce an outside element to the test. I'm afraid you'll have to have an impartial guy switching the wires to get a "true" test of what is going on. If you put a weak link in, such as the switch, it may not work out as expected. To be honest I didn't believe Nick about his wires either. I came into his house without a clue as to which speaker had Tara wiring and which had his old wiring. When he switched back and forth side to side there was certainly a change and I was able to pick which one was the "superior" wire after a few minutes of listening. Don't get me wrong... I did research into this in college and wrote a paper about why wires shouldn't sound different. I would wire my own car with the stuff but I have a hard time justifying the headache it would be to route 6 runs of it front to back in my car! It's great wire, but I can live without that headache until I get a second car to drive day to day anyway **** Hayabusa, Glad to be here, and thanks for linking the site for me

Welcome to the Forum!!!
I have the following net dealers lined up thusfar: http://www.showrides.net -- you know them as SI's net dealer already http://www.audiojunkies.com/ -- these guys are still under construction I've had some other inquiries, but those two are solid. I am still looking for a west coast net dealer and a "middle of the country" net dealer so customers can pick a dealer to save them the most on freight.

Welcome to the Forum!!!
MSRP prices will be the advertised prices via dealers online and retail. Dealers can negotiate with you privately about the price, but advertised price will be full MSRP for all dealers in order to support our retail dealers. Now... I am entertaining the idea of a limited intro direct sale to forum members -- as direct sales will not be the norm for Sundown Audio. Details and pricing will, of course, be posted if and when this will be offered. I'll keep you guys up to date

Welcome to the Forum!!!
Oh! Very exciting to hear that it is working out well in it's new home These amps are built to get the job done right, glad to hear they are living up to expectations! I am very excited about my first two models and can't wait to start work on the rest of the line-up -- I've got six more amps, including an entry level series, planned that should be released over the next 2 years.

Welcome to the Forum!!!
Yes sir The idea was to create a classy design on the outside encasing a bulletproof circuit design on the inside!

Pssssttt...BM's are coming soon
Werd. These things happen... Back on subject. The BM does kick major tail based on the proto listening Nick and myself have done. I have considered using one in my setup to save a few pounds since I'm an old man nowadays and don't even come close to the limits of my Mag anymore -- even with the bass EATING effects of my trunk!

Pssssttt...BM's are coming soon
Vladd, You are correct. The SAZ-1500D and SAX-100.2 have already been prototyped and finalized and are being manufactured. The SAX-100.4 is just about to start the prototype phase so it's still a good ways off *edit* The notes in my signature refer to the status of my install. Sorry if that is confusing. I currently have only the SAZ-1500D installed and will be running an SAX-100.2 and one of the prototype SAX-100.4 for my front stage as the install is completed.

Pssssttt...BM's are coming soon
Market doesn't really dictate a need or a high potential for profit. Why make them if you can't make any money. Besides, there's already a new company popping up with some very interesting new amps. Sundown Audio I know this... ...when I think of S.I., I think of Sundown. Are they available yet??? Not yet Thats why I haven't been on the forums at all talking about things yet. I don't want to have a bunch of hype and then delays to let everyone down. Current ETA is end of July and we will have several online dealers carrying product shortly after arrival -- this is not a concrete date but it is the time frame we have now, the site will be updated with more information if things change.

Back from competition
But we all know that Nick's Mags have absolutely no low-end, he's using them as rear fill tweeters. It's the hidden dub sev that gets the job done

Back from competition
It's not, they are sealed

Official SI Demo Car Build Thread!
The secret to P&S is metal tape... you cover every seam starting with the very first piece and it'll stick. This was every piece is effectively taped down to the car metal and/or the piece below it. This prevents tar leakage and falling off. I know it's not insanely hot here... but the P&S in my old car has stuck for over 4 years now with no issues using this method. Maybe it only works if you are OCD like I am and cover EVERY seam... right Nick ?
