  1. The amps are reliable, produce at least rated power on 12.8v, and sound great -- everything and amplifier needs to do. Good warranty coverage and support (if needed) are also provided.
  2. You have a pair This was a v.1 Nightshade. In a few days I'll have 16v numbers on the v.2
  3. For comparison sake... I built two v.1 Nightshades... the one with the actual production 50mm coil still got up to 155.5 dB... I was testing for differences in the other changes I made to the coil for the v.2
  4. So I got the v.1 Nightshade up to 155.9 dB today on a 16v system -- right at 9.8kw clamped power. Used a slightly different coil but the cone / spider were the bone stock Nightshade parts... no pole plug of any kind used either. Not quite as good as the NS v.2 -- which did 156.1 on 12v on the same amps / same load... anxiously awaiting putting the v.2 in there on the 16v system I am hoping for 157+ from it ! Crappy pics of the sub... but I got the score : The coil is like the NS v.2 coil but only 50mm long... kind of a mix of the v.1 coil and the v.2 coil
  5. His diagram is a bit confusing but I think he may have it correct... if the left side of the box (coil) is + and the right side is - then he has it in parallel. It is a matter of a few things: 1) Needing larger power wire 2) I read on SMD that he also changed woofers -- the new woofer may not perform as well in the enclosure 3) Maximum gain in theory is 3 dB anyway -- which to the ear is only deemed around 30% louder (10 dB sounds twice as loud even though 3 dB is double the pressure)
  6. If you have it @ 1 ohm you need 1/0 wire.
  7. I have alot of plans to offer more choices for subs... we will have a full line. E Series - 400 watts SA Series - 600 watts (8" 400 watts) X Series (name pending) - 1000 watts Z v.2 Series - 1500 watts NS v.2 series - 2000 watts So... five lines to choose from... and eventually an even larger driver than the NS v.2 for six lines total. I am also working on alot of things for amps smaller than the 3500D... but I am not making any announcements yet.
  8. I thought about doing a 7k as alot of people said they wanted one... but nobody was willing to put money down. The 4500D is all I am doing for a bit... eventually I will go bigger but improving the "smaller" products and expanding the sub lines will come first.
  9. Hey guys... I had to strengthen my SPAM filter today... finally got to the end of my rope on it -- I had 300 SPAM e-mails over the weekend and it's a pain to sort through and find the good ones I need to answer. SO... starting today if you e-mail me and DO NOT hear back within 2-5 days please post up here so I can make sure my SPAM filter isn't TOO strong.
  10. Only four D4s left... still a decent bit of D2.
  11. I don't know when it will be open yet... depends on orders from International accounts.
  12. SSA may just need to update their store -- shoot them an e-mail
  13. 1) smuller answered the fuse question. 2) The manual says that but they are indeed rated at 12.8 volts. 3) There already is a Dual-2 model -- came out several weeks ago Specs are on the site now for it.
  14. E-Mail me -- I don't use PMs on the forums. I am selling my six.
  15. Finally got all the product pages updated with professional photos! Also updated the Nightshade pages with correct T/S specs, box specs, mounting specs, etc.
  16. Probably towards the end.
  17. I may or may not go... gonna play around w/ the Jeep a bit this weekend.
  18. Yah, there are some left... lead time is like a week to assemble if you order.
  19. Yes, we are indeed closed Saturday and Sunday and are not here at 2 AM
  20. ... do not call from a blocked number or name, your call will not be answered. Sales people love calling us so we do not answer these calls. Also... MUCH more effective than leaving a phone message would be to e-mail me if you can't reach us by phone on the first try. We don't publish the number on our site since it is NOT the best way to reach us... often times we cannot get to the phone.
  21. That is what fits in my box I may try an 18" later.
  22. It is flat wire -- it is just not a very wide flat wire.
  23. Tiny... 1 cube ported / 0.5 sealed
