  1. What were the circumstances? I get a lot of requests and can't remember which was yours. I'm not sure, I put in a request on your site about 4 weeks ago and never heard anything back. Weird. Let me know if you need another design, and I'll do it for free to make up for it.
  2. Here's a 4th order bandpass box for a pair of SA-15's for 05fronty at caraudio.com. Be patient, it's a pretty neat looking design. The song goes out to Twistedchild420...
  3. But with the angled baffle, you have to worry about your basket/motor hitting the bottom of the box.

  5. I've had people requesting to make a vid showing the whole design process...that takes pretty long, so I figured I'd snap little images along the way and make the time pass a little quicker. The vid came out grainy for some reason. I guess I'll get better at this as I do more. Anyways, this is for a custom TSS based woofer by SPL Audio. The box is 3.25ft^3 tuned to 35hz with a 14.5"x4" port. This is going in the back of a Civic sedan.
  6. Top notch as always...how much of a pain is it to ship something like that?
  7. I was merely making an observation, which seems to be a reoccurring theme where M5 continues to be an abrasive, opinionated person who makes no effort to act the way a moderator should. 46k posts and I'd bet half of them are belittling and insulting people while seemingly trying to provide "help". No matter how smart he seems, the dude is a pretty big douche most of the time. He thinks he's above everybody...it's pretty easy to see by his actions.
  8. Pricing looks pretty fair for a monster woofer. Check out how much a 9518 or Level5 18 is going to cost you...
  9. M5, making friends as usual...
  10. Understood, we're on the same page.
  11. I meant lacking compared to the ported counterpart. In the 25-45hz area a sealed box has nothing on a low tuned ported box. Even with a large sealed box. I've done swaps myself with several 10" subs(even ones notorious for favoring sealed boxes) in a 1.25ft^3 at 28hz box and then plugged the port to make it a 1.75ft^3 sealed box. The ported setup would always have an advantage on the low end until you get down around 20hz, which you're not going to see any material that low anyways.
  12. I think the biggest noticeable difference going from ported to sealed is the lack of low-end in the 25-45hz area with the sealed box.
  13. If you're looking to do a pure burp box, use aeroports and adjust lengths to find what works best. If you're peaking at 53hz right now, then you can probably tune to 45hz to get even better results. And if you're not able to push your subs to their mechanical limits with the power you're currently running, a larger box will benefit you as well.
  14. Pre-drill and use 1.625"(1 5/8") long coarse thread drywall screws. And you don't need clamps. I've never used them and have never has any issues whatsoever. Screws can seriously suck a joint tight together, so clamping and screwing is seriously overkill. The only time I clamp is if I'm using brad nails or nothing at all. As far as glue goes, I personally like to use industrial grade sub-floor adhesive.
  15. This. That sub isn't worth $10.
  16. Hard to guess with IA not giving any t/s whatsoever.
  17. http://www.morelhifi.com/products/pdf/mw267.pdf Not a lot of xmax, but very snappy with low inductance and distortion...which you'll need since they'd probably be crossed a little higher than the usual 63/80hz if you're just putting 4"ers in the doors.
  18. Get a Sundown 3500D and get the N2's instead of the N3's.
  19. 3" lol! If I add a mounting bracket on top I have to be careful to make sure the seat's runners will still bolt down. Want to use my MW-267's as subs?
  20. What kind of depth are you limited to with the 8" subs?
  21. You could do 6" aeroports...do four for spl and plug one for daily. With a 10ft^3 box you can do a 35hz tune with four and a 30hz tune when plugging one.
  22. That one doesn't take into consideration and displacements. You need to input what you want the final volume to be.
  23. There are tons of options that can work for you. What's your budget, and how off-axis will they be?
  24. If you want low-end, do 1.75-2ft^3 with a 30hz tuning. You're going to get way more output down to 25hz than a sealed box can give you in this case.
