well, my buddy wanted me to install a cheap sony headunit in his car on like a monday and since i work all week, i said id do it friday night. well i guess he couldnt wait or some shit so he had his cousin which doesnt know shit about audio try and do it. he cut the stock wiring harness off and lost the end the so theres no way of hooking up a regular headunit so check this ish out!! sorry for some of my language.. i was under the influence of bud light hahaha

He is talking about the 4th order your friend used that caught the zcon on fire. There are risk at ANY power when running a 4th order, that may be greater than utlilizng a traditional ported enclosure. The reasons to not running a 4th order can be many, but manly the difficulty of properly not only designing, but as well as constructing. i know what u mean. casey designed and is helping build my box so i think im good. his designs are usually great. he did do a 146db outta his trunk with 1 zcon 15 with his own 4th order design. the coil on the zcon was 100% fine. no burn marks or nothing. where the tensil leads meet the spider is where it caught fire. if the 4th order doesnt work out well, ill go with a normal ported box

i had bought a mtx 1501d elite amp brand spanking new and not 2 months later, it caught fire... lol very strong got a 1500watt amp though lol

his gains were set correctly. ill vouch for that lol gotta admit though, 1 zcon taking.3k getting the shit beat out of it for a year and a half is damn impressive

so i guess caseys zcon 15 finally had it. he has been feeding it 3000watts lol (never dropping below 13.3V) got a text yesterday saying the zocn was on fire and he couldnt get to it because it was in a 4th order in his trunk but he could see a small flame down the port. thank god it burned itself out. This is not ssa's fault so dont think any less of them! all there subs are top of the line! lol feeding it 750watts over rms for a year and a half. i believe he did a 146 sealed up out of the trunk with a single 15.. not to shabby haha IIRC, caseys doing 2 zcon 12s or a single 15" evil anyways, heres pics guys!
