  1. Thanks, so far everything is going great. The new employees are fitting in very nicely. May still be a little slow on my part while training them, but they are catching on very very fast.
  2. Are you talking about the audio side? If so what org? Depending on what is going on, I may be able to help out. MECA's cost went up 5x. Yea, not sure what they were thinking. I made a few calls to see what was going on and of course I got a different answer from each person I spoke with. I'm going to call Ron today and see about a few different options. I know one option would be to consider USACi if he wants. I can make some interesting things happen with that option. All though with such a short notice for this year who knows what would happen with the turn out.

  4. Most of everyone has returned tonight and we will back to work starting tomorrow morning. We have a large amount of messages and emails to go through, but it will be done tomorrow by mid day as we have new staff join us now and that should fix several if not all of various communication issues there have been over the last month. With that said, for the time being feel free to PM us here, but the best form of contact at this time will be through email. Orders@DC-Creations. Our "purchase/quote" area on our site is partially working, and we do have kinks to smooth out but it is a start and you can start to use that as well. All forum discounts that require you to be a member of this forum will still be usable. We will just need to know your name here as well so we can match everything up for the discount(there is an area on our site when filling everything out to add where you found us at and your user name if applicable). I do apologize to any one that has endured issues with us not being to respond quickly enough or efficient enough. We hope that with the added personal that will all be in the past now. As always, growing our company is a blessing and we are thankful for that. However, with that come the pains of growing. Thank you to everyone who has stuck with us during this time, and we look forward to working with everyone here in the future.
  5. Thanks everyone. It is always tough when in a situation like this. Makes every one think about things when some one so young passes away.
  6. I don't really want to say on the enclosure volume to much. With out modeling them to see how the driver would react in a certain volume/tuning and sub/port placement inside the car, it is really anyone's guess. As for the panel, yes that is the basic idea/plan behind one.
  7. I agree. Sub/port up should net the best result. You can also do a "beauty" panel as well which will make it look better and help with your score at the same time. I would go a little large on volume, and make changeable/plug-able ports. That is the best way to get the best of both worlds in the end.
  8. Raising your tuning will increase the score. However, that becomes a balancing act. You won't know how high is to high until you get there. Enclosure itself could be larger, but with out seeing the car and all that fun stuff it is hard to say what would work best. Could you get a pic of the hatch area along with one with the hatch shut to get an idea of how everything "flows" and perhaps we can help get you some ideas. A new box with different sub/port placement will more then likely be in order though.
  9. Are you wanting a box just for numbers? Or are you still wanting it to be musical?
  10. Could be one of Pete's designs. Hard to say from one pic though.
  11. Looks like a decent design. Should do well.
  12. The enclosure will make a huge difference. Custom build/designed enclosure for your application and product will net amazing results. Prefab sealed enclosures are "ok" if they work per your application and with in the specs of the sub. Prefab ported are typically frowned upon as ported enclosures are not exactly universal. Depending on the space you have to work with and budget, there are many options out there to fit with in the limits that you have.
  13. A long time best friend and friend of the family passed away yesterday(which happened to be his birthday). He left far to early as he was only 22 years old. We did our best to finish work yesterday with the news lingering around, but it was obvious that we were far to destrought to stay on task, so we closed early. I made the call to close today through monday so everyone here can deal with the loss in their own way. I will be on and off of the forum as I am traveling to the STL area to be with my family and his for this time(as are most of our staff). We apologize for this delay as several of you are waiting for your enclosure to be shipped or delivered during this time. I will be doing my best to contact each of you directly to inform you of this delay and make other arrangements for meeting or letting you know a new ship date(which for most will be 1-24-2012). Thank you for everyone for understanding these hard times and I promise once we return we will be back on task for completing builds for everyone. Thank you, Dustin Cambron
  14. You will get some of the same questions I was getting back in the early 2000's I"m sure lol. Why did you upgrade the turbo setup on your DSM when you have a wall.... Mine was setup for racing then it ended up with a wall for a few years. My response was normally, so I can beat your car with almost 3/4 ton of extra weight while playing my system.....all while only using a 4 cylinder.....and a huge turbo haha. Should be a nice build though. Let us know what you think about those subs compared to others when you get it all done.
  15. LOL, I play COD on PS3 every now and then. I'm also from STL, but moved to OKC. I still go back to STL for various visits and to see family. As a side note I have been very active with local members in the OK government about this. Even had a few meets a week or so ago. In some cases a simple explanation of what will really be lost goes a long way with some. Google would be a large loss as would sites like craigslist.org and far more others. It would directly affect my business as many others out there. Personally after some of the talks I had with various individuals, I do not for see this getting to far. Several people in "key positions" have strong ties to companies that would have a direct and immediate negative affect.
  16. Wish we could get one of your alts on our demo truck. They seem to hold up pretty good over time too.
  17. Actually AQ (as other companies) use that as a warranty tactic. As with many companies I worked for it is a loop whole, and if any company tries to say you didn't properly break in your sub. Call bs and force them to prove it to you. There is 100% no way to tell how a sub was "broke in". As for spider failures, no. Those will fail regardless at some point. There is no mythical or magical break in for subs.
  18. I would look into a new enclosure. Odds are that the prefab will hold you back from getting the full possible output and sound from any driver you install in it.
  19. meh, he is just blowing smoke which he has been doing for many years. If anything have a lawyer send him a nice letter informing him of his criminal intent which is of course against the law.
  20. I agree and did the same thing for years. It would be nice to see more "honest" products on the market. However, even the most honest are still a stretch of truth do to the horrible setup for T/S parameters we currently use(which is our fault and no one elses). One thing I hate about doing R&D or even general testing is that when I write up my review(which I am paid to do), I would think it would be used to adjust the product if that is needed. In most cases it just read and tossed away. The sub-woofer is by far the worse thing I test and never see results from my feed back to the companies. Very sad indeed.
  21. There is lot of interesting ideas tossed around in here. Most are clouded with myths or are covered with..well this company says this or that. The mentioned T/S specs changing is true, but T/S parameters in them self are a whole different conversation all together. I have tested product for just about every manufacturer out there. I have done things from R&D to actual testing of the finished products. Amazingly I have found that yes a driver that is "broke in", if you will, will have adjust T/S specs across the board. However, the idea that you need to "break in" the driver prior to full out use is simply a myth and there is nothing more to it then that. Even a supper stiff sub will reach full xmax prior to break in, if it does not it would not be produced. However, after break in it will be much easier for the soft parts to travel. However, this is a double edged sword. If you build the driver with "break in" in mind, you run the risk of having soft parts that will break down to much over time. If you build it to stiff you just built an SPL woofer. With that said 90% of all manufactures specs are "pre-break in" specs. Even more so 90% of those specs are flawed or not accurate to begin with.
  22. sorry, we are revamping our setup to support a few more features so we are getting a few different issues. I will get you a quote shortly though.
  23. We are located in OKC and ship world wide. www.dc-creations.com
  24. "The best" is more speculation in most cases lol. We do still DC Creations I think Triple R is now offering enclosures on line as well.
