The Sundown SA is a nice woofer, but its not built to handle 1500rms. XFL isn't a bad choice, I'm not exactly sure of the power handling, a buddy of mine has a 15" and another buddy had 2 15"s I think. Regardless, 1500 is probably getting close to there limits. Also, are you talking 300 total? Or each? Finding a 150 dollar 1500RMS BNIB sub will be rather difficult honestly.

I don't quiet think hype is the main reason Sundown does it. Also, about the N2 and Zcon comment, I have actually had a good deal of time with the Zcons. As Sir-Lancelot is a buddy of mine. As far as the N2, not yet, but I've had my hands on a good bit of Fi and AA's subs. So next time, don't be willing to bet without actually knowing anything about me.

Thing about it, says available in 15" and 18", but sub in the picture is a 12" or maybe even a 10". I guess they want to give a illusion there magnet is better than it actually is. I tore this company apart on SMD, I'm not sure if their website is the same. I haven't looked, but in the tech section, they listed some bullshit information, claiming their subs to be better than the others. Two I can remember off the top of my head are. Solid poles cause clipping, not directly saying that, but that was the point they tried to make. I loled. Also, they bragged about what on there sub is USA made, and listed MOTOR BOLTs. They didn't list that the actually motor was made or assembled here. Just that the cone,surround,spider,dust cap,tinsel leads, glue and best of them all MOTOR BOLTS. I couldn't help myself from dying laughing. Also, Sixdog1(or whatever) on youtube had a video on a guy unboxing one of the lines, and it didn't hardly have any packaging, just swimming noodles basically. Which is WAY below PAR for a company to ship a 60+ pound sub. As far as price, I guess they had to skimp on packaging because they speNt all their money on USA bolts. LMFAO.

I guess I'm in the 25% where I believe it does help. But I do think there is a line that needs to be drawn. I'm going to give a example. I was at a little family get together last weekend, for memorial day. There was this 4 year old girl, and her mama there. So before the mama fixed the girls plate, she gave her a Carpri Sun drink. Well, she drank it all before she started eating. Mind you this thing is like 8oz. Well the girl started eating, and the BBQ sauce was a little spicy, so the girl went up to her mama and asked for something else to drink. She asked properly, please and ect. Mama still said "Your not getting anything, so go back and finish eating." So the girl walked back to the table and tried to finish eating. This really pissed me off, and right time the mama went in the other room, I got the little girl a drink. I mean, that was just pure meanness IMO. I could see in a different situation maybe denying the girl something to drink, but spicy food at dinner? Just didn't seem right to me. That's why I think their should be a line drawn on strictness. To a point, it just becomes mean, instead of helping the kids.

All you got to do is give your product to the "bigger names" in car audio, and have them swear its the best, even though they don't have anything to compare it to. I find it very funny watching those people review and push a product, but actually have no idea. Youtube is hurting car audio more than anything else at the moment. And people think sinces these people are getting 5-15k+ views per video, they believe these people are the gurus. Which is hardly the case. Good marketing, but bad for the industry in a way. You want the ports ends inside the box the furtherest away from the sub as possible. That's always been how I designed boxes. But some say it doesn't matter, but I think it does.

What about in general? Just take a normal HO or standard alternator?

I actually have a question, one I've always wondered about. Does Alternators have a max wattage they can put out? Like, if you raise the voltage from 14 to 18, does the it change the current output? Take the XP test. The wattage output is 3817. At 18volts would is produce 212amps? Or does it change? Produce more? Same?

2-4inch aeros. I'm going to say there's no real advantage in SPL or SQ in either for the most part. People use aeros for easy to tune. Say for a SPL box, external aeros are super easy to find out the right length for maximum SPL. Where a normal slot port, you would have to basically build a whole new box. I have a Q in 2.3 with 2-4", tuned to 30hz, the longer I made the ports, the louder it got.

So many people buy audio equipment, usually amps in this case, but break it cause of user error.(Low voltage, low impedance, ect) Then expect to manufacture to fix it, and if they refuse cause its not a defect, the people post on every forum, filling every bodies head full of BS, and then giving a company a bad rep. A lot of companies are already WAY to nice about warranty, because of the reason I listed. They want to keep a good rep, even if they lose money.

Yes. You can blame the parents not the school systems or the teachers. If they push their kids the right direction it is by far the biggest lever in improving overall education. You can't put all the blame on parents either. They are really only responsible until the kids gets over a certain age. Then its all on the kid if they want to learn or not. At the end of the day, people here, can only blame their selves for the most part. A few exceptions, but as a whole its all on you.

As far as on the actually topic. Hype R's can get loud, yes. Well, the old ones, I'm not sure about the new ones. But it takes time playing around with different boxes to find the perfect box, before they get loud. Which any sub has the potential to do. People just automatically think since 10 people made Hype R's loud, its just a loud sub. But that's not the case. Back in 05-06, when the Hype R movement was strong, they was just loud for the money. Not exactly the loudest. A lot of people used them because of price and they could take a quiet a bit of power over rated and produced a good number. But today, there are other subs in its price range that would better. Quality and SPL and even SQ IMO. My thoughts on the BL, I love them. I've had a good deal of hands on time with a 15 a few years ago, I loved the sound it reproduced, and it also got loud. I did a 147dB @ 52hz IIRC with a 15, Sundown 1500d at 1ohm, with stock electrical in a 2000 Honda Accord two door, in the trunk. Nothing special, just a aero ported box tuned to 40hz. Tuning to 35hz, I only lost 1.5dB. So that wasn't bad for a daily box. Moral of story, loudness is in the install. You can buy the best sub and amp in the world, and stick them in a prefab box and still be quite.

Americans are lazy, truth be told. One reason why we aren't as smart as we should be. Can't just blame it entirely on the school system. The material is there regardless who is teaching it. We just don't care to learn. We rather know just enough to get by, for a lot of cases. Still the point he was trying to make was quality vs American. Which China is known in this industry as sub par quality, even though a good percentage comes from there. But I made the point in my post above about that.

If it has the same components as the other amps that share that board, I would assume, yes. But IMO .5ohms for any amp can cause premature failure.

Mines a 6g, and that's what you got pictured. So I guess we do have the same style alternator. I will be trying this over the weekend.
