  1. I don't have my front speakers on a amp? And I've been upwards of 148dbs, and could hear the music fine. They need to reply but anything else can be said.
  2. There is a sticky, explaining enclosure volume in one of this sections. Just read it and go by those guidelines.
  3. The n2 isn't designed to be a SQ sub. Its basically a loud daily/spl sub, that can take plenty of power. Also, a BTL as your first setup would be great. Most start with a 300-500rms sub. I hope you have done your research. Let's start by how much power your going to be running to it? Which amp?
  4. Yeah, that's not covered under the warranty. Simple fix is by reglueing it using 5 min epoxy as stated above.
  5. Must of got a bad decal. I'm sure they'll help you fix your problem.
  6. Also, I don't want my vocals to be way louder than the rest of the music. I'm not sure if this is driver problem or a recording problem. In todays music it seems, vocals are way louder than the of the music itself. Right now I have Infinte reference 5x7 coax, off of headunit power, in all 4 corners. Also, I will not have a rearfill. Unless I keep my 5x7s in factory location and turn off the headunit amp. Until I need them cause of rear passengers then turn them on that way.
  7. Not sure on processor, or eq. This is one reason I wanted the 3sixty2. I'm kind of not sure what else to explain. Budget is 800 dollars minus sub stage and headunit. Amp is 1/4 of that, so leaves 600 dollars for drivers and processor.
  8. I'd actually like to see some of Scotts olllld proto's. But its cool. I just have random thoughts like this.
  9. First, let's better define midbass. Are you looking at a 2-way or 3-way front stage? Are you asking for placement suggestions, or driver selections? If the later, we need to 1st determine the installation and constraints, then determine a budget and listening/performance considerations. What are you and aren't you willing to construct and/or modify in the vehicle? Are you looking for good imaging and soundstaging? What type of processing will you have available? Will you be active or passive? I know it sounds like we're being pains in the ass and not answering your questions.....but really, we need to get a much better idea about things before we can try to help. You had an outline of what you were doing in your 1st post, but you've kind of been wandering since then in the direction are wanting to take.....so I'm not sure where things stand right now. 2 way or 3 way. Depends on every bodies input. I'm wanting opinions on placement and driver selection. I'd like to run AA cf mids, but if their not going to be my "style" then I need help picking another driver(s). I'm willing to make kick panels, door pods or anything else really. Also, it will be active, unless somebody points me into a really good passive setup. As far as imaging and soundstage, it doesn't matter. Having all the music in front of me like a live stage isn't that important to me. If this isn't what you mean by this, explain and I'll try to answer it better. Basicly I want some kick ass midbass. I'm talking when people that have no idea what midbass is listen to my setup, they ask, what is going on. Not looking for anything raw/harsh. Or anything that will hurt my ears. But I do want a loudish detailed tweeter. Which I guess placement could help on how loud it ends up being.
  10. 2 way active on a cheap component set. Sundown 100.4D. This is basically a test. The components are only 50 dollars. It will give me some to play with and also test to see what I'm really looking for.
  11. I know this. I'm talking maybe seeing older stuff that doesn't matter anymore.
  12. I might have to pick up a Sundown amp with my Christmas money. 100.4 maybe?
  13. I know this is WAY out the question, but I would love to see some of Scott's prototypes. I bet their has been some cool looking stuff that just didn't make it to production. Maybe we can get a little peak of some? I could totally understand if its not possible. But maybe some older stuff that doesn't really matter anymore.
  14. I think I'm just going to go with something simple. And see how it comes out, then I can get a better idea on what I exactly want.
  15. What program do you use Jake?
  16. Let's start with Midbass. Thoughts on what I should do?
  17. Im runnind 2 1500d's with a 300 amp ANL by monster. Master Slave config. I burp a 49hz tone about 15 seconds at a time. Never had to replace a fuse yet. Im runnig a 220 amp alt, 3 c&d big boy batteries, 4 runs of 0 gauge, 2 saz1500d's on a single PWK design bass reflex. With a single dual .5 ohm 9515g. runs around 152db. What does your post have to do with the topic at hand?
  18. Two different beasts, but they compliment each other. As I know. I alway wanted a Xcon, just have no real purpose for it. Just like to collect drivers, but my funds won't allow me at the moment.
  19. And as I stated before the location and mounting of those drivers determines which ones you could use for that application. There is NO separating the two. I sure the hell wouldn't want to use the 360 that way, way better options. I will add though that I seriously doubt you are ready for an active 3 way if you truly want an SQ setup. You'd be much better off spending 6 months doing some tuning on a 2 way. Basically me going SQ is me trying to grow up. I know I'll enjoy it if I ever go that way, just tough starting out. I'm a basshead by nature, even though I've never had anything bawls to the wall loud. Think was more of a thinking process thread. I still may not be ready to let my true inner SQueer out. We'll be deciding after the 1st of the year, but I have to build something or I'm going to go crazy. At the moment I have a 5000rms amp, was going to do 2 18s and 10krms. Basically only reason I want that is to show other people. I have some thinking to do. We shall see.
  20. He's got nearly 1800 posts here and has been around and already knows better than what he has asked, should realize that threads like this take more effort on his part, but probably really isn't interested in having an SQ setup We shall see I guess. His choice. Equipment is such a LITTLE part of the equation I really hate that it becomes the topic. Everyone is so lazy they just want to buy good sound and it DOESN'T work that way. Your actually right, I usually never make topics asking questions. Did early in my forum days but who didn't. I know the drivers doesn't make much different, but you know they do make some. Like pods, I've considered them, also considered a 3 way active, 8in midbass, 6.5 mid, and tweeter. But couldn't the 3.sixty be run as a 3way, using sub channel as midbass? I'm even considering using the Sundown amp crossover as goes up to 5k crossover point. I'm not 100% sure on this either. SQ is new to me as a whole, never heard what it is suppose to sound like. I listen to a good bit of rap, one reason liking a little louder tweeter. Not bullet tweeter/cheap 10 dollar chrome ones either. I'm thinking of maybe moding the inside of my door to fit a 8in and running IB and 6.5s in kick. With tweeters location to be determined after I do some listening tests. I'm basically scared to spend ~600(in front stage) dollars and not be no where happy with the money I've spent.
  21. Isn't the rf 3.sixty a 3 way active processor? Also, I changed my mind on the Crossfire. Going with a Sundown 100.4d. Also, I said I could install it all, I'm asking advice on products I listed in the purpose I'm looking after.
  22. Sweet. I loved the Xcon design. So I love this one.
  23. Well, you read it wrong if that's what you got from what I said. We are talking about two different points of view - I'm talking about marketing and you’re talking about engineering. From a marketing point of view - It doesn't make sense for us to allow customers or anyone for that matter to have access to our shop. These days with facebook, twitter, myspace, forums, etc people are more social and they talk more and post more an ever. It would be a short amount of time before these picture made it to the internet in one shape form or fashion. Now imagine we are building your drivers or amps for your audio company and you've spend a ton of money and time to develop your line, when new OEM company comes by and takes picture of our shop and they made the net. Do you honestly feel this would be good for your business? I would hope not, 99% of the time your customers will call me and say, "I know you make ford302redneck audio subwoofers, so I thought I'd call you and cut out the middle man and go straight to the source and get a better price." Everyone wants to be in the know and everyone wants a better price, it's just human nature. We do things this way for a reason. From a engineering point of view - If you are one of our OEM customers then you would know everything about your product as you would have you hands in the design from conception to final production versions. We are talking in vague and broad terms here and I can't fully answer your questions about how something is made until I know what we are making. Sounds like you might be interested in OEMing a driver if so call me and I can go into great details once I understand your goals. But your picking my buildhouse because we are the best! What other company is going to reply to your needs and questions at 3:08 am Sunday? Thanks, Nick Are you a mind reader? Lol. Not yet.
