Can I even fit 4 15's
jcm1689... that was my first thought too. V shape with port out the middle. Or even at that, on either side of the V... ala |V| (if my ascii comes out right) If space isnt the issue... then the 15s will be a better bet for the minimal difference in price (assuming output is a large goal). Thanks... Scott

New Tinsel Leads
Thanks Noah... that about sums it all up. Its not a difficult process, just takes a little patience with the dustcap removal. Trick to that is to take a new sharp razor blade and lightly (VERY lightly) score right around the dustcap glue joint where it meets the cone. This is your insurance that when you remove the dustcap that it doesnt rip and shread the coating on the front of the cone along with it. I take a screwdriver and wap the dustcap with it to crack it. Then carefully pull the pieces off trying to not remove the glue from the cone... leaving the glue on the cone will allow you to use a super thin amount of super glue to put it back on and it will often simply click in place back into the original location with ease. Thanks, Scott

2-15" BLs vs 1-18" BTL with the same power
Loaded BL15s would do more...

Height of the box for 18's
About 18 5/8" I believe. You would have to have the front baffle with the subs attached to it a full 18 5/8" piece and the top plate recessed behind it (not the other way around like most normally build a box). Thanks, Scott

18'' bl box dimensions
If you can go and measure the approximate width height and depth you have to work with, we can calculate a box from that. If you have more than the required space, let us know which dimensions you would like to shrink down first. Thanks, Scott

box help...
Port area falls within our recommendations. But looking at the length of the port (23.5") and the overall depth of the box (28") you might have some issues with how close the port terminates to the back of the box. It will effectively make it into 2 chambers with a common port. It might be ok... but Id plavce a ^ shape in the center of the port to help direct airflow from either side. Thanks, Scott

Enclosure sizes for Atlas 15
I agree with 3 cuft. Anything less and you are choking it down. If you are going for a nice flat in cab response, then sealed would be the way to go... it wont have the exagerated bass like the ported would... so no knocking off of heads, but it will be clean and save space. Thanks, Scott

Can FI recone an eD e12k dvc 2ohm
I seem to know a thing or two about that one. Im sure I have a coil that would work somewhere. Ill check tomorrow in the dark corners of the shop. I know I have a couple of the D4s and I think an S4 (same as the D2 just not split in half). Other than that, I do have the correct spiders and cone to do it too. Thanks, Scott

BL 18'' or 15''
Agreed with above. 18 in the proper enclosure will be louder than the 15". But it does eat up about twice the space of a 15" to do so... Thanks, Scott

BTL or BL and what to go along
Its going to be a big chunk of change. But if you went the (4)BL15 route, and with the power you had mentioned, I can see you doing everything for less than that. Do not get the SPL versions of any of these subs unless they are for competition use only. If they will see music (and I know they will for your setup) then get the daily driver option. Thanks, Scott

finished install *pics & vids*

PLZ HLP me with this simple question

Quick Question
That is a stout amp for those subs. With the newer options, Im sure we can get them there for your application. I really think Wayne just shot himself in the foot (if the amount of major competitor vehicles that went up for sale immediately after this announcement is any indication). Introducing drastic points changes this late in the game is going to really screw people. Not too mention all of the issues you will have with 6 different places trying to correlate things together, no real centralized judgint to review or make a commitee type judgement (and we all have noticed that everyone judges differently), the fact that either the US or Europe will be doing this at well past midnight, that linking all of this together via the net has the ability to go majorly fubar... oh well. While the CA finals is MUCH closer to me, Ill be in FL (for the 3rd time this year... whats with that???). FL simply will be "the" show to attend. Not sure what it is about that state, but they are monsters for bass. Must be something in the water

I got a Q
why... sorry what is your name again? I have an awful memory for forum name = real name bigjae1976 would definitely know what he is talking about. And if you are simply using 4" PVC with no flares, then I know for a fact that you will have major port noise. I think he was having noise issues with a single 4" aeroport which reduces port noise DRASTICALLY vs a standard squared end round port.

New options for SSD and Q series subs
liljohn... the options would work great for you... except that you create little bakers ovens with the heat you have in those sealed enclosures in your diamond. Youd reach the same problems after everything inside heated up to the same point... and YOU will heat it up to the same point... Couldnt be happier how relentless you are with the volume knob and demos Im putting pen to paper to figure out a nice solution to that issue... I think we can solve that one and tame the hair dryer you have going on in there...

Little project vehicle
Noah... Like I can pay people what I really would like to... just ask Shawn You get your package yet? His spine wont be an issue with this setup... but the rear passengers will be getting pummeled in the back of the head like nobodies business when the back seats are in place. Suspension is a non-issue. Itll be bagged up soon. I am dead against taking something that can offroad and dropping it... but Ill be damned if this thing doesnt look sick. 3 piece wheels wheels with 30 series tires dont do good out in the rocks either He laid out the ground work and first layers of fleece on the door pods over the weekend. He is fitting (6) AA 6.5s and (4) tweeters in the fronts and (4) AA6.5s and (2) tweeters in the backs... Im figuring he will probably have the upper end to keep up with the subs... Thanks, Scott

Ascendant Audio's New Home!
Sorry They are getting a thicker top plate and different gapping. Cast basket, new curvilinear paper cone... D4 coils that are beefier than the last S4s. Just upgrading all the little things on them and getting them setup to be a solid entry level dealer line (not that they werent before, but it seems a pair of them on a amp is requested more often than a single unit or 4 of them. We may offer a S4 coil down the road if dealers really ask for it. Thanks, Scott
