		Welcome to the IHoP

When are you going to be out there? I'll be at QSC on the 9th which is fairly close. They are letting me in to take a photo tour. There is a kick ass Mexican food joint on PCH in Laguna. Can't remember the name but it is right above an Italian restuarant and visible from the street. Best salsa I have ever had in my life and I grew up on the stuff.

		Sound deadening alternatives........

I've used rubberized spray-on undercoating on a trunk lid before. Worked great and it was cheap as hell, about $6 a can from Wal-Mart in the automotive section.

what you think of my new rims for the MINI?

Nice Mini! The new wheels look good and for the price that is tough to beat. My wife's 2005 took a chit recently. It's been nothing but problems since it passed the 50k warranty mark. Great cars, but they need to seriously put their dealer repair centers in check. They wanted $250 to replace a fog light and brake light (bulbs only). Took me less than 10 minutes to do both and cost about $5. We have found a much less expensive local mechanic to work on it, but she's gonna get rid of it soon.

JL Audio Contacts Elemental Designs Over Patent Infringement Concerns

I know which driver you are talking about. I think it was a low-profile 8" that was made by Tangband or somebody else doing OEM for ED. If I remember correctly something went south with the design being sold to other clients or used by the company doing the OEM and ED decided to make their own. I think it was on Parts Express for a while.

JL Audio Contacts Elemental Designs Over Patent Infringement Concerns

Thought this was interesting. The guys at ED don't seem to be too worried, but I know the guys at JL and if they contacted me for any reason about pissing them off I'd be damn sure to try and make things right. http://www.audiojunkies.com/blog/305

		Planar home subwoofer ideas.

Magnepan has a new Magneplanar subwoofer coming out. They are being pretty tight lipped about the details, but here is a picture and what is available at this time... www.audiojunkies.com/blog/247 I agree that the surface area you need may end up being too big for practical use. Building your own would definitely be an interesting project.

Actual Power Output of Behringer EP2500?

I may give the EP2500 a shot just for the hell of it, it's too cheap to pass up. I'm seriously eyeing a Crown XS-1200 though. I figure if I don't like the EP2500 I can offload it for a small loss and then just get the XS-1200 for a few hundred more. Crown XS-1200 #1 Crown XS-1200 #2

Actual Power Output of Behringer EP2500?

I'm eyeing this amp for sub duty and I have seen a few people mention that it puts out closer to 1500 watts rather than the rated 2400 watts when bridged into 4 ohms. I've posted on home audio forums and searched the hell out of it, but can't find any real world data on this amp. As much as I would love to get a Crown CE4000, the EP2500 is very tempting because of the price. From what I have seen everyone seems very happy with them as well. Any thoughts?

		Cograts Zed!!!!

Doesn't say, so I'm assuming it was without the BB. They would have mentioned it if it did have the upgrade.

		Cograts Zed!!!!

Wow, pretty impressive review considering most magazine reviews these days are just brown nosing an advertiser. I don't think Steve has ever advertised his car audio amps anywhere. "The company espouses unpopular but true notions in its product manual and builds a very modest amp with sound quality to rival anything out there. The Zed Audio Gladius left me quite impressed and has become an additional point of reference for sound quality from a 2-channel mobile amplifier."

The Grado pics are up and I'll have pics up later this week from my TC Sounds tour yesterday. TC Sounds has some just downright badass home audio stuff in the works, I was drooling like crazy. I'll be back out there in July to get more pictures and demo the finished product.

		DIY Tube Preamp Kits

I've been eyeing that exact Foreplay on Audiogon. Jim- what did you think of the Foreplay when you had it and why did you get rid of it?

		DIY Tube Preamp Kits

I've been eyeing a few different tube preamp kits and just wanted to see what you guys think is the best for the money. The Bottlehead Foreplay III has some great reviews, but it is $400. I'd prefer something less expensive and I don't need anything too crazy. Dual RCA outs are a plus and I would love to get my hands on an original Foreplay, but haven't had any luck finding one. I've been reading on DIYAudio.com, but everything is a bit scattered over there. Building from scratch is an option, but tube preamps are a bit new to me and it is tough deciphering "good" plans from the bad ones. Any suggestions are welcome and thanks ahead of time.

		Home Entertainment Show 2007 Pics

I'm holding off on the Grado tour pics just because I don't want it to get knocked back and looked over because of all the HES stuff. I've got pictures of some prototypes that I don't think have ever been seen publicly before, very cool stuff. Thanks for the compliments on the site as well, we've got a ton of stuff in the works. I'm working on a tour of TC Sounds next week too. The cans that the chick is holding had the earpads removed. They actually weren't too bad, but after listening to Grado's the day before... Jim- the Wilsons on tubes were straight up ear sex. I'm a huge Wilson fan, but that was the first time I have heard them on tube power.
