  1. If you know how to properly use it, it's quick, simple, and accurate. Only use it to determine port length, that's it. I still do all the calculations on paper, and check my port length in winISD. nG It really isn't much good for much else, it just doesn't give dependable results imo. Like you said yourself, you do the stuff on paper for a reason (besides knowing how to do it ) But if it's all math, your answers will be repeatable with a computer program.

And apparantly it's on YOUR 100.4 too! You ask questions about hardware on stuff you own?
  3. dopey replied to Duaber's topic in Sundown Audio
nope, its on my 100.4 too.
  4. No no. I'm taking Fi's official box recommendations over anything else. Just wondering(academically) why the TS parameters suggest significantly different tuning parameters.
  5. The biggest one looks like a contender...but I still think I'm gonna go with the local ones. I'll be back with a manu name sometime soon.
  6. Can you summerize our questions(as you know my question too)? It may help one of the Fi crew to answer more effectively.
  7. I'm trying...I'm trying
  8. +1 You are tiring. Have they not banned you yet? All I see you do around here is piss on peoples threads. Who gives a chit that you mod some other site? Not me, you are a worthless annoyance here and I have asked you to stay out of my threads numerous times. Thanks for the bump.
  9. Are they measured when the subs are new and stiff, or after they're broken in?
  10. I like the hard contrast. Very detailed. I'd love a 1500d and 100.4 side by side in a 1440x900.
  11. 14v batterys and 14.4v alternators
  12. Just saw kinetiks site again. Whats up with the "Amps" rating? The cranking amps is pretty much the same as the ones locally. WHats up with the EAGLEPicher Horizon? price? THe specs aren't all that, but theyre small.
  13. I wouldn't say a lot, but there is a definite savings. one full sheet of BB is 75-78lbs, where as MDF is 90. I just got a bunch of different weights on things this past weekend. Looking to get some poplar myself which is 52lbs for a full sheet. Bad thing is, it's $76 a sheet. I have boxes of mdf and boxes of 3/4 marine grade voidfree baltic birch. It may weigh less per sheet than MDF...but it's because it comes in 5x5sheets instead of 4x8. I think the birch doesn't sound as good. And certainly doesn't justify the expense. But it is pretty, and takes stain well.
  14. Another question...Why, if the alternator is 14.4v, is the battery 12v? If the electronics can take 14.4v alternator power, they should be able to withstand a 14v battery. Does anyone make a large 14v battery?
  15. They saw the Kinetiks website. They said they had something close...for wheelchairs. It had higher Amp/hours but only about 3/4 cranking amps. I need to know if this is worth $110. I'm thinking it is.

its beefy too. suprisingly so. very well made.

Jump in on the presale. Perfect for you.
  18. what size BL?
  19. Northwest Arkansas
  20. guts?
  21. But I don't really wanna spend $800 for two battery's, if I can get the same 2 for $300 from a different manufacturer. We have a large store that specializes in batterys for cars trucks, wheelchairs, semitrucks...I went to them, they didn't know anything about kinitek. I showed them the website, and they flipped when they saw the current #'s. Apparantly 2000amps is a very big battery. The reason I ask is because there is a battery there that has 120amp hours, and 1500ish amps, but only cost $110. It has the same posts, dimensions, materials, and die marks as a Kinetik 2400...just a different color. I'm thinking it's probably the same OEM, just different branding. Could you rank the specs as to whats more important...ca's over Ah...? Low ESR(which stands for...?) over reserve capacity? Just looking for a better idea of what I need when I go talk to the battery guys. I don't understand their lingo.
  22. You don't need to appologize to me, I may come off like a dick, but it's just my lack of skillz at typing what I'm thinking. I'm much better with Excel and Access than Word. hehe I was checkin this thread cuz I just got an SSD too.
  23. Do you have a link to a "good calculator"...perhaps this is my problem. I've been doing most of my planning around the RE box calc.
  24. I hear about amp hours and cold cranking amps...and deep cycle... What numbers do you want higher and which numbers do you want lower?
  25. My space is 39" wide and I can go 20" tall. How deep do I need to make the box (and how long AND wide does my slot port need to be) to have a net volume of 4-4.5cuft and a daily tuning of 30-33hz? Power will come from 2 sundown saz1500's strapped at 2ohm. Thanks
