treas FIRST thing first IMMEDIATELY remove the sub from the amp and get a new amp... if you continue to use the amp YOU WILL need a new sub..... Once you put the sub on a new amp and things sound distorted then inquire about a recone.. I hope you know sending DC volts to the subs WILL end up with an outcome of you replacing the amp AND sub costing you more money... remove the amp immediately...

I remember how small that car really is in the back. Are you trying to keep the entire setup in the rear hatch or are you looking to use the back seat also? I ripped out the foam that rises the trunk floor up about 8" so i gained 8" depth on the trunk I can fit MAX airspace about 5.2 after displacements i got my airspace down to 4.1 for 2 12's problem is they can only face up or forward... Good thing is the entire roof is made of thick glass.... So i was wondering which would sound better sub up port up or sub up port back...

What was the power handling of the old AA mids ? Were they 4 or 8 ohm's ??

yes i cna get the 980bt at cost + 5% and the 9887 at cost + 20% No strange processing needed... Actually the only thing i like on the 980 is the built in blue tooth lol... both have the main features i need. EQ, 24 Bit DAC burr brown and atleast 4 volt pre-out.... Which would you go for sean

My take on the car audio world... be prepared for those late night installs.. you don't get to leave when the store closes, you leave when the car is done... MECP... funny thing Derek pace just visited the place i install for here in hawaii... Honestly I think people with MECP become close minded to a backyard DIY's... That's why at our shop, though the owner is first class MECP certified, He tends to hire people that let their work do the talking and not some paper !!

Looking at a 100.4 sundown going active up front... 6-1/2" midbass and 1" tweet in the doors... Deciding which of the 2 units will give me better control with going active... And also which of the two is just "better" overall... though i feel it's not really important mentioning but the subs is powered by a saz3000D on 2 BL 12" I also have a 300amp iraggi alt and a yellowtop upfront and a kinetik hc24000 in the rear... I work for one a shop that carry focals and we got the news from our distributor contact.... I don't know when the planned release is but IIRC think he said the new production run of the changed tweeter is shipping around JAN of 08.. I don't know if i'm supposed to release this info YET....

Focal is revamping the tweeter for the next release... being there were too many complaints about them being too harsh and hissy.... They've done some major tweaking and i hear they are much warmer now... I like my mids n highs warm and i like to experience a little boom from my mid (not boomy but a little low end) I don't like harsh tweets but rather warm and silky (not texture but sound wise).... I can say the morel tweeter fit this bill but the seas mid gave me the OOMF i was looking for... I can't wait to hear the new focals though (anyone heard them yet, in hawaii we are probably on the last to receive shipping list being on a rock in the pacific ocean LOL)
