Personally and from my experience with the 18 BTL I'd do a 7 cubic ft box with about 98 square inches of port... As far as length @32hz (which sounded the best for daily and great output) you're looking at a port length of about 26.22" long port

I'd do 5-8 cubic feet @ 32hz.... with about 12-16 square inches of port area per cubic foot of volume.
  3. Got info from our Kinetik Rep that they are going to be releasing 2 new lines in their 12v power cell line up the 2 are 1. HC3800 ~ 3800 watt 12v power cell 2. HC1200 ~ 1200 watt 12v power cell I don't have the dimensions yet or the specs... so if anyone does can they kindly post them mainly the dimension or the Ah
  4. It was in the Fi Subwoofer General section...
  5. firefox 3.0 was released today... Site has been down due to unreal traffic... so the site is getting DoS from all the people trying to DL the new FF3.0
  6. My FF extensions include google tool bar lite (i love the search on webpage function MEAN)... replace image with your image (Mark you should use this alot for webpage making cause i sure do)... I also got the IE TAB extension (the one you can view page in with the IE engine once again web developers dream no need open IE just click "view in IE extension").. I go tthe switch proxy... Have you guys used the tutorial on making it even faster by manipulating the source file (IE doesn't have this which is why FF rules)... 1.Type
  7. gonna go out on a limb and ask if those mids/highs gonna be tailored for active setups ??
  8. Should come live in hawaii
  9. Shizzon i have a tC and doing my deadening... I remember in another thread you said there was a spot you had a hard time doing... Where was it and what tips you got for me ??? I have done the entire floor already now i gotta do the side walls of the trunk and the hatch door... I got 2 12" BL's, a 300 amp iraggi alt, 3 kinetiks (2 2400hc and one 1800hc) and 2 Sundown 3000D amps.. one per sub @ 1ohm... Box is 4.0 tuned @ 33hz
  10. yup one 10" fully loaded BL Box was 1cu^ft @ 34hz with 15 sq in. of port area... In a scion tC (not mine btw)
  11. It doesn't take bazillion watts and choke subs to do hair tricks... I seen a 10" Fi BL and a 1500D sundown do crazy hair tricks...
  12. theabunai replied to andar's topic in General Fi
try emailing nick nick (at) ficaraudio.com
  13. Thumpper what vehicle was that box for ? What are the dimensions of the base width and height... I was trying to make something similar for my Scion tC hatch I'm inspired would it be ok to maybe email you for some help on my design ??
  14. Nobody can answer that question.... seriously.... There is so many things getting good numbers depend on it's an impossible answer... it's like asking what came first the chicken or the egg??
  15. same here earthman I am curious if it follows the same track the 1500D would I just want to know as i been telling clients that the 1ohm each (not strapped) would be more powerful But i also (and i am not sure i am right) were saying the 2 strapped was more efficient and offered balanced gain control (since the gain runs only off the master amp)... I want to be sure i give them accurate info about the amps... And help them get the MOST of their amps in the right configuration for the right system... I know strapped is ideal for single subs (since you want the balanced gain control on the two coils) but when it comes to 2 subs it's a toss up and i want to know more so i can recommend the best setup for people who use the amps... happy sundown owners makes more potential sales so i thought i would ask jake...
  16. Right again I know what the strapping REQUIREMENTS is for these amps..I've stated i believe 3 times, about the 2 ohm nominal load... Once again I'll copy and paste 1. "That is why i said take the subs wire it to 1 ohm (each not total/nominal load ) then strap the amps (it would be impossible to get a 1ohm TOTAL/NOMINAL load with 2 dual 2ohms subs)" 2. I am guessing 2 3000D strapped at 2ohm (1ohm per sub) should put out over 6K 3. And the entire FAQ pretty much covered that I KNOW it needs to be a 2ohm nominal load... I am not asking what ohm load i need I am asking what the advantages are besides gain control... Actually theoretically based on 1500D test you would come to the conclusion they are NOT the same... 1 ohm nominal = 1635 watts @ 75% efficiency now 1635 x 2 = 3270 and 2 ohm strapped = 3150 watts @ 72% efficiency The 1500 D test shows that strapped is less efficient and less power BUT again the 3000D is NOT the same as a 1500D.... So once again (since it turned into a nominal ohms thread which i don't know why after my reply to johnecons post who was merely clearing up my non-descriptive post) Is there a power advantage over another as well as an efficiency advantage
  17. Yes and that is what jacob recommends That is why i said take the subs wire it to 1 ohm (each not total/nominal load) then strap the amps (it would be impossible to get a 1ohm TOTAL/NOMINAL load with 2 dual 2ohms subs) thus the question what is the difference power and efficiency wise If 2 saz1500Ds strapped to a final 2ohm load (1 ohm per amp) and it put out over 3K http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/i...?showtopic=7116 I am guessing 2 3000D strapped at 2ohm (1ohm per sub) should put out over 6K
  18. I'd figure i would post it instead of calling or emailing you jake anyways here is the question lets say i got two 3000D's and 2 15" subs dual 2ohm What would is the difference (if any) between a. 2 3000D's strapped to the subs (take the subs wire them to 1ohms and put the amps strapped) b. 2 3000D's one on each sub @ 1ohm each (take the subs wire them to 1 ohm and put an amp on each) I get this question quite often I would think that the strapped pair would have the advantage of equal gain control.. but is there a power advantage over another as well as an efficiency advantage
  19. Yups.. *Shakes head* I've seen it too. Jealousy is a powerful thing... I've read somewhere someone said they did it just because it is so popular... silly if you ask me but hey.. if someone took the time to make that then Fi is doing their job right.... making people so mad they gotta resort to little things like that... I'm glad DD guys need to dis Fi that way.. instead of letting the sub do the dissing they need to have a cartoon do it...
  20. Damn the 12" BTL looks Vicious.... damn
  21. what you got planned for the system troublemaker ??
  22. We had a TL meter for the guys the other day... A pete box that was made exactly to spec hit 142 with one 15 we took it out and made a regular old slot ported box following Fi specs and we hit a 143.something with it.... I don't know everything but proof is in the numbers.... after that the pete hype here died and everyone is just doing there own boxes to company specs.... since then i seen numbers improve greatly (of course this is on an SPL level, i'm sure his boxes may do very good in an SQ set-up)... just my experience...
  23. Shiz i have a tC as well and am about to start deadening today... Which area are you talking about that your having issues with ? I'd like to tackle that first while i am enthusiastic about it... Also did you deaden the headliner area around the glass ???
  24. Meade i was gonna type the same thing... Scott is out of town for 7 days... When you EMAIL scott, sales or orders (which are all handled by scott) if your filters are set correctly you get this... "Thank you for your email. Currently we are experiencing VERY high email volume and are somewhat delayed in our responses. Also... we are in the middle of adding a new machining line in a new building and will be slower as well with our responses from 04/25/08-05/03/08. We apologize for the delays and thank you for your patience. Thanks, Scott Fi Car Audio " coupled with a new warehouse opening to handle the growth... New line coming out. Owning Fi and AA OEM'n for ATLEAST 3 other companies... Handling over 70-80% of all emails himself to assure accurate sales and info.... Having so much emails that they literally have their email server crash... And having roughly 7 employees (most of which work in the warehouse machining and shipping).... People getting upset that they didn't get a fast enough response??? Patience is a virtue... I've spent well over a grand at Fi.... And I help Hawaii people get Fi since it can't be ordered from the site... I made many sales for scott well over a couple grands... AND I haven't gotten an email response from him since he is out of town. Damn that scott DOESN'T HE KNOW WHO I AM, I SPENT GRANDS AT HIS COMPANY HE BETTER RECOGNIZE ME, RESPOND TO ME, CALL ME GOD, GIVE ME THE pucking CUSTOMER SERVICE I DESERVE OR I'M GONNA GO BUY ME SOME OTHER SUBS... And a joke for those that forget what sarcasam is... I think this world would be such a better place if we all sat and thought about what it MIGHT be like to be in that persons shoes
