  2. lol i found out on a 2 channel amp i can do 2ohms. i found this http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_23551_Hifonics-Zeus-ZXi200.2.html legit!!! i think ill get it, gotta wait till next paycheck tho lol
  3. depending on the year and the model they could be simi decent. Not with him installing them and setting them up they wont be. gee thanks for your support lol
  4. depending on the year and the model they could be simi decent. im not sure, bought em at a pawn shop, the manual says 1998 on it lol i assume it was '98 they're brand new too. single voice coil 4 ohm. only options wiring are 1ohm or 4ohms. . id rather do 4ohms on a stock electrical. not really asking for true 800rms power just something that would power these nicely, maybe 600rms true power or 800"rms" power.
  5. lol. thanks shizzzon. ill check it out, yeah, i figured.. im not even sure if the subs can actually handle 200rms each. they're radioshack optimus power series that i got for $40 for all of them lol.
  6. http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_34494_Boss-CE2200M.html I've heard many stories of Boss Audio not putting out the specs they say, but i have a nice build coming up in my uncles ride, my friend had a 1800watt boss 2 channel amp and it sounded pretty good, probably wasnt the watts the specs said though. but anyways, my plan 4 12s. sealed enclosure, subs facing up. they are 200rms each 400 peak. the amp puts out 750rms at 4 ohms. i know it most likely wont, but whats your estimate on the wattage it can put out at 4 ohms? money is tight and im not lookin to spend a whole lot on this, this is a fun cheap project, (the real project will be in my van) this build should still pound... just can someone please tell me if this amp is worth buying, and if there really is a difference in "sound" between true 750rms and not. and if not, recommend me a amp thats close to 800rms at 4 ohms thats around $100. thank you so much everyone i appreciate all of your help and honestly. nice little build coming soon ANDDD big build too, but new thread for that lol.
  7. Sorry, I didn't clarify. It's the x-over. The owners manual for the headunit says the bass should be at 100hz and bass boost at +12db. So I set it, won't be able to play till maybe Tomorrow. But, because the amp is gonna put out 400rms to a 300rms sub, shouldn't the gains be lower?
  8. I didn't turn my gain up as high as it can go. And I realize what I did wrong. Thanks. I'll check out my manual for the preout voltage signals on the headunit. I'm a Little confused stil about the hz ok the amp? It says I can go as low as 40hz and as high as 200hz. Because it's a sub amp I should have it at 40hz right?
  9. The sub is looking great! Well, cosmetically, ughh lol. But the goop is holding up! The tear is no longer a tear, I'll take pics tomorrow, it's not a pretty sight, but I think it will still pound! Now ive studied, and maybe putting out 400rms to a 300rms sub wasn't a good idea, especially with gains 3/4 up. So now I'll have gains 1/4 up and be careful with volume knob. I'm going to wait another 2 days because I want to make sure the goop is fully dried. In fact, if the fcon comes out before end of October, I might get it. I like ssa subs. Yee haw.
  10. I have a sundown 125.2 that I want to utilize.
  11. Thanks, a recone would be great but not worth it for me. I really need a d2 sub not d4 so this sub is something to mess around with But, so far so good. The goop is starting to dry and it's holding.. Damn it I already gooped the underside on top of the duct tape lol.
  12. Update: I bought amazing goop and duct tape I applied duct tape the surrounding on the inside (underneath the surrounding) and I applied amazing goop on the outside of the surrounding. I'll wait a day or two and see how it holds. Should I apply duct tape to the outside surrounding as well?
  13. So how should I do this? Apply duct tape to the speaker and than sillicone on that? Or vise versa?
  14. Whats next on the list. Volvo????? i dont have a volvo? lol
  15. Yes I apologize for letting it happen. But note I didn't originally make the tear. And I found out my friend said it didn't bottom out it just tore on a good bass note. So I wasn't abusing it, the tear just made the sub very weak and it busted.. And I also found out the previous guy straight up used just sillicone to cover up the tear. ....
  16. 9/15 Ran mile. Time: 6:44 Worked on triceps and biceps (curls, lifts, pulls) worked on abs (crunches, sit-ups, leg-ups)
  17. Ooooh a 500-750 watt ssa sub. I'm tuned in.
  18. 9/14 5'6" 132lbs Benchpress. 5 sets. I maxed at 225 today. Curl ups. 5 sets. Pushups 4 sets of 25 Sit-ups 4 sets of 25 Jogged neighborhood. 1/2 mile.
  19. and it wasent out of the gate popular.. i remember i started seeing it more in 2002ish In the shop I used to run, we carried it, and the early massive foot print high current class-A/B amps were good. I used a few in our demo car and I demo'ed a few myself. This was well before the silly flames were added. The flames gave it character lol.
  20. Um I dont think I load tested it. I pit it to a battery charger and saw the voltage was fine was a steady 13.6. Put it in my car and it was still steady (at least the first day) it wasn't till day 3 I noticed voltage drop (lights dimmed) went to check voltage it was at 9.8. So I repeated the process, charged it, put it in vehicle and this time voltage wouldn't stay. It's not the vehicle cause my kinetik 1800 works fine in the car. And taming it to a scrapyard might be the better choice but I'd get lucky if I got $20 out of it
  21. Lol man I've been slacking, 9/13 5'6" 132lbs 88 pushups (normal one) Ran 1/4 mile Fireman's carry (my partner was 180ish lbs) ran 1/4 mile 92 sit ups Ran 1/4 Raider captains were teaching us how to breakdance lol, learning how to do windmills Ran 1/4 Swam in lake for about 1/4 mile All was from 2:30pm to 4:30pm. 22. Here's an update , we sold the vehicle locally to a guy off craigslist for $1200. Originally asked $1700, found out about the cable, dropped to $1500, couldn't fix the cable, and needed a new fuel pump, sold for $1200 lol.
  23. I agree, crescendos are great amps and aren't too pricey brand new.
