I know how that reinvesting in a business goes... investing anything that resembles profit going back to make things better is the most important step in furthering things imo. mrray13- I agree. I have no sundown products, I have an eclipse 400wrms 4channel because it was a good price, and 2 memphis 4ks because sundown didn't have the 3k 6 months ago (at least not to my knowledge). The memphis amps SEEM to be OK, but I don't compete and I have heard nothing but problems w/ there stuff now. I talked to a local dealer who had over a dozen warranty issues on amps in one month, and the subs don't seemto hold up long either.

Very much so wagon, I think you should There is so much proof that sundown is an honest company trying to make a decent product at a decent price, I don't understand why you resent them so much? I had a guy tell me my Fi BTLs were crap, or that my CDT components suck, for no better reason than he has no experience with them. If you have NO proof AT ALL, and you even lied with your 'well momma said' approach to giving evidence, I think you have nothing to say. You should appologize for the slander, or POST PICTURES/VIDEO of ANY proof, or just stay ignorant elsewhere. I hate when a good thread goes to crap because of someone who want to take the time to argue online about something they don't really know anything about!

I think profanity is appropriate in this situation. I haven't checked for nearby shows in a while, and I've been waiting for one for months. I live in MB SC, so that's pretty damn close. Is the next one (small shows included) in timmonsville? I'd love to see some of those sundown amps in action. Would've been a great oportunity to get my setup metered on a t/l. Oh well, my fault. I like the idea of the SSD 15s... but I have 0 experience with the maw. I have experience with their BL and BTL line, and I'm about to get an SSD 18 if the new h/t setup still needs more bass- could give you a review in a few weeks. I put some deadener in my mustangs wells because of road noise more than anything else. It really helped a lot. But I covered that whole thing in 3 layers-just looking for more spots to put deadener

That will depend on the setup. The enclosure and vehicle will make the difference, as well as how much power each setup is seeing.

I would do it, but wait and see if the voltage drop at the amp is very much. If it's minimal and you're satisfied I'd wait.

I'll tell you, this is the only company I've ever bought anything sight unseen -based on reviews and c/s. After purchasing, its the first time I bought 2 products from a company in 3-4 years. Now I'm just trying to figure out how to fit/afford more This is the only forum I've actually gone to more than once a few months, and there is good reason for it: great company and great products.

My bro has a bxi2006d on his BL- rated 2krms daily. It handles it fine. He is sensible though. I have 2 memphis 4ks, 4krms daily on each of my BTLs- it also handles the power beautifully. I am careful though. If you want to put 2k on it, and are really afraid of messing it up, get a BTL with cooling and call it a day. If you spend a bit of time to make sure there's no clipping with your amp you should be fine with a loaded BL though. That's just my experience. And as far as your gain, I have my memphis with a memphis line driver, I think I have it around 5v right now, and I have my amp turned to MAYBE 1/6 of the way, more like 1/8. I'd use no bass boost, and as little gain as possible to push it cleanly. Take it to a shop if you have any doubts. Good luck.

How much power?

I'd rather have the 2 sealed Qs. You know they'll take the power, and with the filter turned off you can drop as low as you please, ported you'll have to worry about making sure not to play too far below tuning. You might be happier with the sealed enclosure since you listen to a lot of rock. Just my thoughts. A lot of people like RE just because it's expensive anymore, but that's the reason I'd lean away (kindof like JL).

Which is louder will depend on the install and the cut through. based on cone area alone the 18 will have an advantage. I'd much rather have the BL, but that is my personal preference. My bros bl 12 is louder than his L7 12, so... Its up to the quality of the install imo. #s coming from different vehicles wont be very relevant because of how many factors can change things (tuning, vehicle, power, placement, meter, etc..). I had a guy tell me he hit 160 with 2 10s and 1000 watts peak in his ext. cab I was like It was maybe in the 30s. Point is, people can tell you what they hit, but you could be much higher or lower, so it doesn't matter.

When wiring a Dual Voice coil sub, you can only have a final load of half the two, or twice the two. Meaning dual 1= .5 final load or 2ohm. Yes, you are stuck with 2 ohm. Unless you find two amps you like and put one on each 1ohm coil. Hifonics and kicker both have decent 2 ohm amps. Kicker 2500.
