db-R Refurbished Amps - 25% Off !
They will do more than rated with a proper electrical system backing it. Sweet. Now to convince the wife I need a new amp. On a side not, I am glad you are here today! I appreciate all your information. Chris

db-R Refurbished Amps - 25% Off !
This may be a ridiculous question, but these are all clamped and do rated or better, correct? I have never bought a refurbished unit before.

Slug alignment issue
OK, cool. I was just not sure about the magnetic field and it possibly pulling the coil, or trying to, to one side as opposed to being linear. This will certainly make today more fun.

Slug alignment issue
One more quick one, is there any way to use clamps to realign the motor?

Slug alignment issue
So I have been rebuilding my system over the past month and have had the subs in and out of the enclosure testing the fit and where I need to go to move forward. I noticed today that the top slug, AA Havoc 12", is mis aligned roughly a 16th of an inch from the others. The coil isn't rubbing anywhere within normal stroke, but I am concerned about this causing issues later after they are installed. Here is a pic. Do you think I should just send it back and have it repaired? Will it be ok? Will it effect performance? I have never had this happen before, so any help would be appreciated. Chris

4 Fi X12's, short build log
I have yet to do an X in a ported configuration. People were sleeping on the little drivers. In a sealed configuration, they are very high on my SQ list. As long as output isn't your goal, you will be a happy camper!

Been out if the game for 12 years a few questions about Q
My two cents. The 12" Q is still one of my favorite sounding drivers. Go sealed if you are more geared toward SQ. I loved mine ported though. I am a basshead at heart. I will second the Sundown nomination for a power source. Although I have never run their 2 or 4 channels amps, I have been very happy with both the SAZ1500 I used to run and the SAZ3000 I currently run on my 2-12" AA Havoc's. Both companies have great products backed by great customer service. Chris

Thanks, me too. Looks like we are having company and the hood is doing luminaries. So it is time to eat and walk with friends and enjoy a beer. More tomorrow. I work early, so I will have time to continue when I get home.

I need a good saw in the worst way. Maybe one day. This one won't cut straight of a proper 45 to save its life.

So back to work. I rounded over the port and applied liquid nails to the inside seams. I am going to run to HD and grab another much needed clamp, wood filler, and lots of flat black paint. This box seems to take forever to finish.

I had to take a small break and do a build for a friend that took precedence over my own. 3-12" JL W6v2's 1.5cf per chamber, tuned to 34Hz.

So here we are, a year later and a few electrical issues have persisted. But I decided after the the top was separated from the enclosure, I would rebuild. So here is take 2 same box with a couple of modifications and this time will be firing forward and sealed off from the trunk. Mock up.

What is the word....... Fvcking amazing! Great job!- Couple of questions and opinions needed here
I will second the Havoc 12" vote. They are they only sub I have liked more than my Q's.- 4 Fi X 12's in Single Cab Chevy 1500
Ha, lucky for you!!! But thanks!! The angle of the box is steeper than the angle of the back seat and the subs are recessed! I have no problem with that! Thanks for the concern and compliments!! Sweet! Just lookin' out. I really like these subs. Great entry level driver. Small space requirement. And man they dig deep for the low xmax. You will be happy.- Look what Orion sent me
They look awesome. I too am curious how it sounds.- 4 Fi X 12's in Single Cab Chevy 1500
Looks great! Now get some carpet on it. Be careful of the subs hitting the back of the seats. That is all I would watch out for. I have a friend that refuses to keep his seat off the drivers side sub and he f's up that sub all the time. Expensive for him. But he lets me keep the blown drivers. I will recone them one day.- Porsche 944 box
Great job!. I look foward to seeign this completed.- 15" Fi Q and Sundown 1200D Install
Man that looks great! I will second the idea of facing the sub forward and sealing it off from the trunk though. You will notice a substantial difference in output.- Indecision
I will vote for the BTL in your case. Just know you will be tickling the BTL with that amp. With a good electrical system and all else being equal, the BTL "should" be a better fit to your goals.- thanks Scott and Fi.
Congrats! I will agree, I have never done business with a more straight up and all around good guy. Scott has definitely earned my business.- Houston people please read this!!!!
I directed a friend of mine hear. He lives in Houston and actually just finished a very nice box. He may be able to help.- Box build for my DLS Nobelium 12 (large pics)
Great job Gordon! I wish I could hear that bad boy. - Ascendant Audio Chevy Astro
