  1. looks nice. after some more listening, post a reveiw in the reveiw section
  2. Yea, they seem to be the most common the MAW's. If you have the space, why not. I wish i could fit 5 cubes, tuned low. But i think sealed will be just fine. now get those vids:)
  3. If youve seen my build log, youd know im not one to judge others woodworking skills well, im hoping the correct tools will help that. But how does it sound on different genres of music?
  4. alright cool. thanks a lot. If/when this is available in 15's or 12's, that will be nice. Until then, I think the MAW's will suit me and my budget just fine.
  5. that looks awesome. Get some batteries and take a video!!!!!!!1 that makes my decision stronger on getting 2 maw15's
  6. dont mean to clutter the thread with questions.....but........... is this only for the SVC model? do you have plans for DVC models?
  7. ok, awesome. I think my setup is going to consist of 2 maw15's sealed also, so just wanted to see them in a similar setup:)
  8. can you get any videos of it? or pics?
  9. does the .4 at the end mean it will be a SVC 4 ohm? If so, are you sonsidering DVC 4 ohm? thatd be nice for car audio, if this woofer will be suitable for it. It looks awesome though
  10. thaks for the words of encouragement guys. well i just tested it out. There some airleaks, especially around the sub. The cutout was a little too large and all my phillips head bits are getting warped so i cant apply to much torque. anyways, looking at it from the trunk, you cant really tell. but it sounds pretty good. Im sure it would sound better all sealed. Its loud enough when its at volume 25(what i set the gains at), but on regular listening volumes its pretty quiet. Im debating whether i should: A: try to build a new SEALED box B: try a ported box C: ditch them and try out a maw15 or something of the like. and i dont have a flush trim bit, but that is a goob idea. thanks for the help

  12. yea thanks. im going to try it today. I have a belt sander that i think i might get a coarse belt for. That should probably take care of the back.
  13. well i disappoint myself everytime i look at the box. I guess it came out so bad because i made half the cuts alone, and im used to having help lining up the 2x4 guide. well anywho, it sucks, i may just make a new one. maybe ported and screw the aesthetic part since that will probably be a wast of time too. as you can see the cuts are terrible. I also recessed the sides for carpeting purposes, but i doubt the inset board will fit anyways.
  14. yeah, i need some form of dust collection badly. anyways, i made the box today, and im disappointed. It looks like crap, the cuts were way off. I may just make a new one, depending on how it sounds. hmmpph..... ill post pics later tonight, but they wont be pretty.
  15. Nice. I cant wait to use it. Heard they go through MDF like nothing in one pass.
  16. Well, this is my first real car, and Im about to start my project:) When its finished, it will consist of as follows:(pics follow) 1 kenwood 632U headunit 1 set of PG RSD 6cs components 1 profile CL300 (75x2@4ohms) 1 hifonics 1606d 2 Infinity perfect 12.1 sealed with about 1.2 cu. ft. each, seperate chambers 4g and 8g wiring 3/4" trunk floor some lowes duct insulation for deadening amp rack made of PVC and mdf(hopefully this idea works) well im hoping it will sound good. and im hoping everything goes ok. Ill be building the box tomorrow if the weather permits. Ill be posting pics as I follow through with this. heres the trunk design. The amp rack will be a piece of MDF supported by 4 short lengts of PVC. The 1-1/2" PVC will be fit into 1-1/2" holes 1/2" deep into the MDF floor, same with the top piece. [ heres the PVC with the black paint just to see how it will look. the trunk im working with amp and subs(well one of them for now) headunit some new toys to test out thats it for now. Ill keep this updated especially if i build tomorrow, comments are appreciated. thanks
  17. well, now i really dont know. THe amp i planned on getting for comps got sold, so im not sure what to do. I can spend about 200 on subs, possibly 2 MAW15's sealed, and save up for comps and an amp later. Or I can sacrifice the quality of each(comps and subs) and get both. I just dont really want to upgrade later, so you know. What do you think? I have about $200 and 1400 watts @ 1 ohm. hmmmm...
  18. Yea i guess. My original plan was 4 sealed, but i got a new car and no room for all. I already sold two. I guess ill just try them ported. See how it sounds.
  19. haha. well i guess it would make sense. If im not satisfied I could sell them. I just wanted to support an awesome campant, and the box would be smaller and leave room for an amp rack of some sort, and it would leave room for upgrading, but well see how the infinity's work out. Im just waiting for the first warm weekend to build one. I cant wait, i got a bunch of new clamps, a new blade, new upspiral bit to test out should be fun.
  20. well, as you know SSA is now a mach5 distributor. Right now i have 2 infinity perfect 12.1's. I was planning on doing these with a ported box, but the more i read, the more id like to try a mach 5 maw15. The maw would cost a little more, because i can probably only get about 80 or so for the pair of perfects. I have one sealed in my car now with 300 watts, but its not loud at all, and i would just be worried about the output. I know this is the mach5 forums and may be a little biased, but most\ of the mach 5 knowledge comes from here. So i ask you, keep the perfects and go ported with about 700-800 watts, or do one maw15 ported with about as much as it can handle? thanks for any help
  21. Looks nice. vids now! btw, you have a PM
  22. Yes, I believe that would be pushing it. I figured. good luck with the new setup, and post another reveiw if you can
  23. awesome. Cant wait to get mine. Im still debating if i should get 2 sealed and save for a front stage later, or get one ported. Take some vids when its up and running. \ Ps. with your experience with them, do you think 1 15 would have a problem with over excursion in a 3 cu. ft. ported box with around 1k watts?
  24. I know there were a couple of reviews on mach 5 products, most of which are gone. So if you posted the review on an other forum, maybe you could post it here again. Just a thought
