  1. Next time you are in Albany, let me know Aaron. Mark knows where to find me (I live within 1000 feet of Audio Obsessions) ;p
  2. If you are still in NY Aaron, give me a shout... I know you guys are way up north (if I remember correctly), but if you are near albany we should meet up.
  3. And i've seen a coffee cup go halfway through a winshield in a 35 mph impact... Just saying it's better safe then sorry to secure things.
  4. Drilling out screws is a relatively simple process... If you don't have access to a tap, make sure you go slow, and as mentioned before start with the smallest drill bit, stepping your way up, eventually you will what appears to be a hole, you will have to get the other material out of the threaded hole. If you mess up, don't fret. Grab a few self tapping screws, (the smallest one bigger than the hole) and use them to mount the new head unit.
  5. Not at all, if anyone deserves an extra merry christmas this year it's Aaron.
  6. Aaron, we love you for that! And Merry Christmas to you especially.
  7. Merry Christmas and many dub stepping, double bassing, old skool rapping bass blasting new years to come!!!
  8. I worked for FedEx for 2.5 years, my mother another 2... Both of us worked for Quality Assurance and that wouldn't have flown for either of our brances... Needless to say it can happen and it was a single driver at fault not a company... You should report him if this is legit.
  9. The money and time invested in developing a high quality sub is a lot. Jacob has to make a living. Not to mention making an 8" sub... A very limited market and at that size he can't just carry over all of the soft parts... Not to mention the magnet itself may have had to been redone to make mounting the sub possible... From what I can see, this looks like probably one of the most amazing 8" subs ever designed. And at that price point, if you want a monster 8" sub... You can't go wrong.
  10. You will need processing to run 4 channels of fronts.
  11. Have to love the LT-1 Impala SS.... Corvette motor and roasts tires at the twitch of a toe... Love the car.
  12. I would only do the nightshade if planning to up the power in the future, if it were me... I'm sure that it will be louder than your current set up, and leave plenty of room for improvement, but you will only be happy with 1000 watts on a nightshade for so long.
  13. 2 10"s with that power should be louder than 1 15 with 75% of the power... Why kicker amps? Unless you are getting a hell of a deal on them, they are expensive watt/dollar... And they do rated power, but not anything impressive... Sounds like you need a sundown SAX-1200d instead of a kicker 1000.1... I've used both products and no offense to the Kicker products but they are "popular" but not spectacular.
  14. I wasn't doubting your equipment and I was aware of when the fuse comes into play... I was under the assumption that you use this meter for work as well, and that maybe you were using it for current there.) I was just listing off things that I know get overlooked quite often.
  15. Or even better yet, are your leads conductive... I've seen wires get pinched off, or the tips come loose and that mess with readings.
  16. I've had this happen with my Diamond D1's when the dustcap started to come off, air leaks can be surprisingly loud
  17. If you get a chance check out hertz as well, probably my favorite sq oriented speakers... They are a little hard to find, but they are amazing speakers, and probably the best mainstream sq oriented speaker for a reasonable price.
  18. If a tweeter is seeing a full 100 watts, I can just imagine how fast my ears would start bleeding.
  19. Diamond has gotten worse since they were bought out a few years ago... I would check out Hertz, Morel, Old diamond stuff like d9 components, image dynamics.... I'm sure there are plenty I am forgetting.... From my guess you like the sound of soft dome tweeters vs metal tweeters (just a guess based on the brands you listed as liked vs disliked).... With components, your tweeter is everything imo.
  20. The morel's are a warmer and more balanced speaker, silk tweeters help that.... I absolutely loved my morel's.
  21. I've used both polks and Morels, not those sets, but I honestly feel that it's like comparing a Russet potato to a red potato... It's always personal preference, but I prefer morel speakers to polk... Obviously taking into account that entry level morels will sound worse than top of the line Polks. If I remember correctly polk did win an sq championship a few years ago.
  22. that sucks
  23. .6 Cubic feet? that would be perfect for the Sundown 8... I promise that Jacob builds great products and you won't be disappointed.
  24. I just want to add, no computer editing was done on the photo's i've listed... I do eventually want to buy a decent camera of my own and actually learn something about photography.
