  1. It is probably noticeably louder closer to fs than the 15 from increased cone area. If I had the space I would go 18".
  2. Your ht set-up already makes me jealous. as when I buy a new cd I have to listen to it in my car as I lack the equipment to give it a proper audition in my house.
  3. they'll get lower for sure. louder maybe. and they'll work fine in door, jsut seal it up well, and you'll love those 8's. if the right offer is made, i might be tempted to pull my sq 6.5s out and sell them to ya, lol. i've got a pair of kicker ss 6.5s on my floor waiting to go in.... with a pair of rmb8 midbasses...hehe wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee I traded my sq6.5's for a DD m1. But that was after I totalled my sq car and was lost, and just wanted to turn over a new leaf and do something different.
  4. What screams uber* quality to me is when an amplifier company rates their 4 channels @ 8 ohms rms for the rated power, even though they are stable to 2 ohms. lol. But there aren't too many 8 ohm drivers laying around right now, except for some hlcd's.
  5. The good news is you could probably use the parts express dayton tweet with this set up and the 8" mid will reach down lower and should have a little more midbass. I wouldn't be mad, If you are after output than these should work pretty good for you, if you are after all out spl, you would definitely have some issues with the msync's.
  6. if ordering the replacement silk tweeter like jim suggested ( i prefer the silk one as well. the sq's in my truck rock), order the sq crossovers if staying passive. like mentioned before, you can biamp..... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Yep, I went to the msq6's from the msync's. Biamping just makes life a little easier for me.
  7. I had a major issue with the original tweets in my msync8"s and I returned mine the first day I onwed them. I had the mids in a modified qlogic kick. I would do separates's with a better tweet if it were me.
  8. I know I already worked the first eleven hours of my sunday (midnight to 11 am) and I am going back soon to work the last hour of it as well.
  9. IMO, OBD-II cars are easier to get through emisions. OBD-I cars have to be put on the rollers and they measure the exhaust while OBD-II cars they just plug in and check the computer. Well that is cool, b/c than I can buy a 96 and have body color matched mirrors and stuff!... Awesomeness. (I am thinking a nice head/cam swap and a nice true dual exhaust would sound very nice). 97's have the LT1 too FYI I know. I also know that 96 is the first year for obd-II on this car, it was also the first year they offerred body colored mirrors and all of that fun stuff. I am just settling, I would love an ls2 camaro, but their owners always want soo much for them (they sell for around 14 grand for a 98- and so forth). The lt1 cars are a lot more reasonable, and for some reason are generally less beat on.
  10. That is awesome... gives me an idea for once I can finally drink as I have extra motors and transmissions laying around, although mine will only have 4 cylinders.

  12. The only possible way I can think of that he blew up a btl in 5 minutes would be with two severely clipped signals and the voice coils wired backwards. Which shouldn't happen with "professional installation" We are all curious as to how you managed to kill a sub that could probably out last a circuit breaker on a wall outlet. And need I restate my point...
  13. Im guessing that mine would be one of the familiar names from TC sounds forum. Anyways I found SSA when I got bit by the Fi bug.
  14. Got to see one of the cuties from the 3rd floor of my work... Damn she is cute. (sorry fella's don't have any pics of her)... Anyways i need to stop procrastinating and get some sleep.
  15. I am glad you found the website Another personal favourite is the Beethoven album with "Piano Sonata #14." It is not a bass track, but it is so beautiful on decent mids/tweets. Most would recognise this song as "Moonlight Sonata." Yes, but I believe fur elise is such a better song to show off good mids and tweets. With great staging this song really comes to life.
  16. I would still go bl. As long as you are responsible and don't clip your signal too badly the bl's should be happy with 2000 watts rms as music is dynamic.
  17. Scrubs is awesome, as well as Grey's anatomy and House. Maybe i do love hospital shows, damn.
  18. I am thinking of finally buying a more fun car than my neon... I am thinking 93-95 lt1 camaro (obd1 so easier for inspection/ emissions). The alternator is right in your face when you open the hood making that an easy swap, and god knows that there are too many large body h/o gm alts to be had. I was thinking street C, like 6 10" woofers and 6 sundown saz-3000d's. 2 group 31 nsb's, 16 runs of 1/0, and a very large dominic irragi alt. If I get the car, I am definitely doing 8" kicks and compression horns for the front soundstage.... God I need to stop daydreaming out loud and get some sleep.
  19. I think the oem 10"s are the best deal for that price range. I love mine.
  20. That is very interesting... is the remote wire seeing enough voltage, and the amp seeing power... Break out the dmm and let us know
  21. I would go the bl root, there is nothing better than headroom. the Btl will laugh at 2000 watts, it is like taking a 400 lb guy and feeding him salad. Will he get fed, yes... but will he be happy?
  22. here is 1812 orchestra by Cincinnati symphony orchestra: http://www.telarc.com/Classical/title.asp?...1K3BBBNQ2CQAAC9 WARNING: Anyone with a ported enclosure not running a subsonic filter, be careful to not over exert your sub woofers. These cd's are a godsend to anyone running infinite baffle and/or large sealed enclosures capable of reproducing bass accurately.
  23. I found the telarc website, and I am in love.... I just wish I had some ht equipment b/c I don't have the sub-stage in my car to pull it off right now. Maybe I will order up a 18" Q and build a big sealed box for when I am not competing....
  24. Can you pm me the info on purchasing said disks. Sounds like the kind of music I love, and would be great for my own personal woofer test later this year.
