  1. How about just some insight and responses? Thx.

They are out of 1/0 and 2/0. I would need something to hold 200A+, right
  3. Well the rear dash Is shaking a lot now, broke some clips that hold in the 6x9s into the dash, lots of rattle via the back trunk. I'm familiar with fat mat as I've used it before, but I'm looking to only spend about 50-60 bucks on some sort of sound proofing material to use on my back trunk, top lining and the bottom where the 6x9s are(ill probably just take them out for good). Would probably need about 50 Or so sq ft. What would be some good options/alternatives? I heard about just using roofing material insulation with. The tar/rubber based bottom from home depot. What would be the downside to using a material like that?

Thanks, so proceed with some monster kable 0 G? What are those female connectors that you can put a male connector on the cable and connedt them without using the actual wire into a female connect? Sorry don't really know how to explain it, but where could I get some of thosee what is a good site to buy 0 G off of as well as parts/ terminals, fuses?

Was thinking of wiring up the big 3 in my 04 grand prix. Don't have a high output alt, should the hookup only be done if the alt is aftermarket quality? What other determinations should sway me to do or not do this wiring?
  6. Would like to buy a Q motor and a 15" basket so I could throw the extra soft parts I have in it. I am using Fi soft parts for the recone. I have an extra Q Fc D1 I would like to build this sub for myself and give my pre-09 to my buddy for xmas. What would the pricing and shipping look like for this motor, basket, and some glue? =/
  7. I could cook breakfast on my 801s amps after lots of bumping on a summer day
  8. Why 18s? I'm sure 15s would suit your desired frequency ranges just fine..
  9. I go as far back as 801s. I had two of them each powering type R 15s
  10. Hifonics goliath 3000xd and 5000s too I think are 1/2 ohm stable but you'd need 4 batteries to power one.

It seems to be working fine in my old Q. And what is "clicking old Q recone". There isn't such an option, unless its just the bp?
  12. I've come across flawless used equip. But I wouldn't purchse unless I knew somone didn't abuse/make mistakes with hookups. Can't do that too often these days, people are stupid.
  13. My old school mmats d300hc has great sq, never gets warm and I'm running it daily @ 1 ohm below its reccomended impedance . What do sundown amps have in competition with this amp as far as performance/efficiency?
  14. Produce I would imagine..draw=?
  15. Thanks, that explains a lot. I'm worried that I'm damaging my amp bc its unmodded, but in the same aspect, should still have the safety feature..amps draw 1400 + @ 2 ohm.
  16. How would you figure this out? Ac/dc / ac/dc? Running a mmats D300hc in a 2 cu. Sealed enclosure. Not supposed to run the mmats below 1 for daily driving, so want to know how I'm doing so, is this the cheater amp its made to be? Drawing lots of current lol, voltage drop. Don't want to dmg the amp, rewiring it to 4 and making a larger ported I guess.
  17. If you go with a sealed enclosure give them more power =)
  18. Agreed. I say get dual 2s and run them bridged @ 2 ohm. Get a mmats d300hc and you won't need another battery for the 1400W it throws=)
  19. If you have that much power I would keep it smaller, or just use the cut sheets on the tech forum section. My Q shined in a smaller sealed enclosure than the box I made via the cut sheets on the forum.

It will work. The new recones are better with the way the tinsel leads are fed in between the spiders. I think they give you the option of flatwound or copper with the Qs
  21. Make sure you fuse front and back battery. A and L fuse 160 A+ in front and distrib block or same fusing in rear
  22. Go to ficaraudio.com click on tech and look at the info for the Q. Cooling options give you more power handling. I would recommend them esp. In a sealed enclosure. I think the air in there gets warm. They have cut sheets for a sealed enclosure in the tech section of this forum.
  23. Hey guys, I have a recone for a Q I wanted to see if I could just get a Q motor and a 15" basket..how much would that run me...not worried about how machining time..or..do you have any compatible motors tc, re, or anything that would have enough depth for this coil?
