(1) 15" vs (2) 12" Nightshades
How much space do you have? I like to try different enclosures before spending more money. Maybe a different box would alleviate your output needs for now.

ZED news update
I'd almost like to send in my USAcoustics to be upgraded, but I can't see sending in perfectly good working amps just to have them upgraded.

Nightshade's efficiency
All numbers are calculated NS 12 D1 = 85.19 NS 12 D2 = 84.28 NS 15 D1 = 88.47 NS 15 D2 = 88.16

New Zed amps
I know I'll try to pick one up, maybe not right when they come out but I want one.

Redemption
Nice snag, but the gas door is on the wrong side.

Fi Q ohms
It will be fine.

FIQ 10 or 12 ?
Given both subs are in their proper boxes you will not hear a sonic difference between them. The only difference between them is the 12 would have the potential for more output.

12ssd copper - sealed enclosure
I'd go with the 1-1.1 range and add polyfill if you think you need it a little bigger.

I messed up my port...
I sending my head into a whirl. I calculated it with some end correction. It will be more closer to 7.1ft^3 @ 33hz as it shouldn't have to much end correction. not a big difference.

I messed up my port...
oh lol good stuff. wow your really helpful. Thanks a lot. I'm going to start figuring out how to calculate this stuff by myself, I can figure out the cubic feet but thats bout it That didn't turn out bad at all nevermind

I messed up my port...
In that case it will be about 7.1ft^3 @ 32hz after all displacements
-
I messed up my port...
After all displacements I got about 7.57ft^3 @ 31Hz.

I messed up my port...
"Here is the port now (the 21" measurement comes from the 22", I had to cut an 1" off to get it to equal the port opening on the back of the box):" That doesn't make to much sense. You should have had to cut 1.5" to get the port height of 5" at the back of the box.

Welcome to the IHoP
chit, lol, i know of a certain competitor that installs a small cap, 1/2 farad, inline with his headunit...and yep, all 4 guage. works for him. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee wire is wire, but don't install an additional just replace the one you have Thanks guys. They way I see it is current is going to choose the path on least resistance so it shouldn't matter if I leave the harness connection and add one to the back of the deck. The whole reason I am contemplating it is to further eliminate a possible pico fuse problem. Although I have had my 880 for 3+ years and haven't had a problem, it was under warranty the whole time. Now the warranty is gone and I recently took it out do to circumstances and now getting ready to install it again, just thinking it may help.

Welcome to the IHoP
What person in their right mind installs a 4 gauge ground to their head unit? I am contemplating installing an additional ground to the head unit and I dont have any small wire laying around and have a bunch of 4 gauge laying around. Is it overkill, yes. Do you guys think I should do it if it fits?

Spring Break Nationals
I was wondering why there wasn't one in one of the boxes when I ordered my subs.

AQ SDC2.5, DCSL LVL3, AA
Im looking for and amplifier as well i had my eye on the AQ 2200d for my set up... i drive a 2000 grand prix gt and i use my trunk sometimes for small stuff (medium size duffel bag for light traveling ect) so anything past the little screw knob for the spare tire compartment to the back seat is fair game for my subs... and im kinda looking for a balanced system like im looking for front stage speakers as well but i want it to be pretty loud i guess so im not looking for so much sq but i want it to still sound crisp when i want to turn it up... but my front stage is another story... Your still being kind of vague in your goals, you could get a loud crisp sound with a single ten or even eight and a good front stage. Also a lot of people are not all that familiar with a grand prix of that year so they won't know where the spare tire screw is. Hell, I have one and I not entirely positive on where it is without going to look.

Did I blow my subs?
You wont be able to tell much from a normal video.

New Zed amps
I've got my eye on the 6 channel. While I would like to use my usacoustics they might just take up to much space, and the new zeds sound like they will be more space conscious.

Little more info on the shirts? I am interested.

All the threads I've seen say you have to send in the 06+ subs.

15" Fi Bl setup
One of the problems with the RE calc is when you enter in the port length 2 number people assume that is the port length which I think is happening here. Just a little miscommunication. If you do it that way the numbers work out.

what amp?
not an option. i have an fi bl. so im looking for 1500. thanks anyway You don't need to use the full 2kW. Ever heard of a gain knob? gain control does not determine the maximum power that an amplifier can produce. As long as the preamp/drive signal has sufficient level, the amplifier will produce its maximum power output level. ... yes it does. That's how you Set your gain. To limit the maximum power output and match your input signal. So I'll assume you know what it is now, just not what it does. http://forum.ecoustics.com/bbs/messages/4/499728.html read and learn. i know what it does. you dont. Riddle me this, What happens when your head unit is rated at 4V preout and you set the sensitivity knob to 8V?
