  1. I thought it would be a good reference for everyone. A little update got he caps today and put them in already and everything is working great so far. Story of my little project is my aunt's computer monitor started acting up with a flicker constantly after a power outage. So she gave me the monitor to see if I could do anything with it. So I opened it up and noticed there was some bloated caps on the power supply board. Pics of bad caps Pics of new caps installed. [offtopic] Yes they are both chrome here are pics of them with a sundown prototype.
  2. Could you explain what the options do. I understand that cooling adds cooling but does it add more power handling etc.. And what does the longer coil do for it? Thank you.
  3. Almost bought some stuff from digikey. I was impressed with how quickly they replied to my questions about shipping. I've seen mouser beeing recomemded by someone who used to repair amps. Small capacitors shouldn't be too expensive, give mouser a try [offtopic] What amp is that in your avatar ? US Acoustics ? [/offtopic] Thanks for the info. Yes it is a USAcoustics, Specifically a USA-2300f. [offtopic also] Me = Jealous [/offtopic] To make you even more jealous I have a 2200f also. Anyways thanks for all the replies. I ordered the parts from digikey last night and already got the confirmation email this mourning that they received and it was shipped. I have a couple other things that I might need for other projects so I may try some of the others listed, again thanks for the replies.
  4. That depends on the front stage and where it sounds the best.
  5. SSF should be higher, more like 30hz.
  6. Where is your SSF set. and I wouldn't put any more then 1500 watts to a bl.
  7. Yes removable, with out harm that is up to you just make sure you dont slip and scratch it.

I believe Blade Ice is their European distributor. http://www.bladeice.com/

  11. Build a new box for your 15 and give it more port area.
  12. your going to be scraping bare minimum for a pair of most twelves with those dimensions.
  13. Ive found the part at both places. Nobody has any experience with mouser?? Seems Ive heard of someone using mouser before.
  14. https://ssl.perfora.net/www.ficaraudio.com/...view.shopscript Honestly you cant look yourself. It says the outer dimension then add an inch or two to allow your fingers to get the sub out.
  15. Nice try but all they had was car audio stuff, this is not for car audio.
  16. I'm in search of some capacitors and after exhausting local stores I need to turn to the internet to find what I need. I would like to know where is a reputable place to get components at?? I have found a couple places that have what I need and dont have a minimum order amount. Has anybody dealt with http://digikey.com/ or http://www.mouser.com/ ?? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I believe this is the design he is talking about. http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/i...showtopic=22586
  18. I don't see any Meade bashing, I see "Meade rider" bashing. Honestly he does nice work and promotes the hobby but is it really necessary to act like he is the end all, be all in the car audio world.
  19. http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/i...?showtopic=7154 explains all options and box requirements.
  20. You could put more power to the bl going with the D2 wired to one ohm, but then you will need to be careful not to over power it. Myself I would go with D1 wired in series to 2 ohms with the possibility to add a second. You should be able to get a good 800 - 900 watts out of the 1500 at 2ohms which is enough to power to bl Edit, New heat sink has more material to dissipate heat better. I don't recall if it has any extra crossover options added though.
  21. I wonder if it is the same store as this one. http://www.mobilesoundworks.com/Default.asp?Redirected=Y If it is their is someone here that ordered a wiring kit from them and had no problems.
  22. That is a difficult one. you could get a dual 1 ohm coil and series the coils for a 2 ohm load should get about 900 watts out of if then you have the option to add a second if you wanted. Or you could get a dual 2 ohm coil and parallel the coils and adjust gains accordingly.
  23. I would have no problem buying a refurb from db-r. they still carry a one year warranty, that is longer then most manufactures brand new.
  24. I wouldn't touch the massive audio amps, their just dirty unreliable amps to me. You can get a SAZ1500 from the shop here. http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/zencart...p;products_id=3 Or a refurbished one from DB-r http://www.db-r.com/sell/store/index.php?categoryID=92 Or PM Sundownz to see if he has any used ones.
